Wow, that is a great collection. I had all except for Harrier and the Stormovik sims. I have agree that we've yet to see anything close to mission planning and the F-14's avionics as we saw in Tornado and Fleet Defender. Although the Falcon series has given it a strong go with the Viper. You are sitting on a small pot of gold there Vanessa. Cheers!

Welcome to CA Dingo. When the Tiffie gets A/R certified on the KC-135 MPRS, I'll be anxious to get one on the hose. Cheers! Storm

The last tank sim I had was Panzer Commander. I spent hours on it, but nothing since has really captured my eye. Reading bad reviews of what was available didnt help either. -S

Calling on the Avionics Guru's........

I'm "Google-ing" it now, so I can figure out what it was. Was it anything like the DIANE system on the A-6? Did it have a dropping reticule? So far, Google is giving only text, no graphics. -S -
I too am sorry to hear of your Grandfathers passing. May he enjoy a new life in Heaven. Jeff

Troops being able to deploy flares?
ST0RM replied to WDH's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 1 Series - General Discussion
Nah, just trying to help you fill in some empty spots. Good luck! -Jeff -
Is that a MiG-15 or -17? I've seen it twice, but couldnt stop either time to take a close look and count the wing fences to see which it was. It looked to have Hungarian markings, as the star wasnt solid. -S

How about the MiG-27 and MiG-23BN for a Soviet CAS platform? -S -
F-101B Voodoo V1.1
ST0RM replied to ErikGen's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 1 Series - File Announcements
Offline for a couple of days and another Voodoo gets released. Thanks very much. Looking forward to flying with the 60th FIS. -S -
It's on my Christmas list, so I hope it's waiting for me in couple of days. One of the MiG-21Fs is at the museum at Eglin AFB. I remember back in the early 90's when it arrived, but had no clue that it was a former Red Hat aircraft. -S

I had one in Germany, but it got pretty beat up on the move back, so I scrapped it. Maybe, one day again...

Another fine MF product. Thanks guys! -Jeff -
You're telling me. And yet, we are at our busiest pace ever, while being at our smallest.

In today's fight over Afghanistan, each aircraft does pretty well for what they are each tasked to do. You dont have the huge Superpower slugfest of the Cold War where large flights of jets would battle it out for Air Supremacy or take on battalions of armor. The Super Hornet (or ATARS config'd D-model) can run a fast recce route using the SHARPS pod, while still keeping a good portion of it's bombs. The A-10 can loiter over an area and use the targeting pod, but doesnt have the capability to utilize a recce pod. Both aircraft have been using their guns during strafing runs and with the current loads, they are pretty close in what they bring to the fight. However, down in the valleys, the A-10 has the manueverability to stay close overhead, while the Hornets will need more room. The A-10 has issues at high altitudes with a full combat load, where the Hornets do ok at the higher elevations. In reality, tactics are what makes or breaks any aircraft. You must evolve and keep ahead of the emerging threats. I think both communities have done a great job in meeting the challenge of an urban environment in Iraq, and the mountainous villages in the 'Stans. If I was having to build an Air Force, those two aircraft would be high on my list of equipment to purchase. -S

If the sim allows, I will create a separate profile for another nation and fly it's aircraft using that pilot. This way, I dont get burned out on the same thing and get the build up 2 pilot's careers. -Storm

I wasnt calling JM a noob, but agreeing with him about his post, as that is how most of the new people start out, by making demands. Us regulars? Unfortunately I cant spend my whole life here. There are jets to refuel... -
Palmdale, California if I'm not mistaken. So yes, that is a alot of snow for the high desert region. Nice!

You've got to check out this trailer. This is going to rock! http://wolverine-trailer.blogspot.com/

I believe FC already made this clear shortly after I posted, so you're second reply on the same thing isnt necessary, I got it the first time.

I dont. I got burned out on them and Pink Floyd listening to the radio. According to their play list, each band only had like 2-3 songs...

Here's a Thud from the 419th TFW/466th TFS AFRes with HI: http://www.airliners.net/photo/USA---Air/R...hief/0782788/M/ And here is their former Vipers. They are now an associate unit to the 388th. http://www.f-16.net/gallery_item142807.html Cheers! -
Correct on some points. But who's to say that the EW suite cant be replaced by one built by Elisra, or Elbit finally integrating a Helmet mounted cueing system into the jet and so on. It's still hardware and contain LRUs and black boxes. Look at the F-15/16I. -S

Really? They cant even protect their own country from outside influence who have taken over. So the Russians are going to openly give away weapons to Hezbollah. Awesome. -S

My assumption is if the F-22 is ever exported, it will be an airframe only. Japan and Israel have fitted their own electronics and sensor suites into the jet we've sold them in the past, so I dont think this will be any different. Although I'm not sure on the feasibility of this, I do hope we stand firm on the issue of the jets being built in the US. -S
