After refueling some RAF GR.4s the other day, I came to realize that we dont have an updated Tornado for the TW series. So being somewhat useful and using the Knowledge Base to answer some of my questions, I was able to create a GR.4 from the GR.1. I've added the LITENING III pod to the appropriate station, along with the Enhanced Paveway III to stay with the current config. I'm only missing the new RAPTOR recce pod. ;) I've also created some new skins in the current grey scheme. They are really plain, as the in-theater jets have no unit markings applied, unfortunately. The key missing items for the airframe are the second under nose fairing for the FLIR (could be as simple as adding another from the same basic GR1 model), the new HUD, and new cockpit display. Also missing from the basic model are the inboard BOL IRM rails, but I've added the AIM-9s as per the KB as a placeholder. If this is something that people are interested in, I can contact the owners of the model and request permission to release it as is. Or even better, get with them and maybe add some stuff. It will require some new displays. Namely a replacement of the round center and upper left screens to square displays. I dont have the tools/knowledge to do that type of mod, so some help would be appreciated if Florian is ok with it. I'm off the flight schedule today, so I've spent most of the day working on the INIs. The LOADOUT.ini is nearly complete, but I'm still getting some random weapons to load when they arent specified. I'm also seeing if a FLIR can be added since the jet has one even without carrying a targeting pod (LITENING III). Might try using a modified TCS from the Tomcat and reverse engineer it (with permission of course). Back to work on the ini's Storm -

I was really a fan of the later conventional tailed X-32. It was also supposed to have a different intake desing that was tested on a F-16. It was more rounded and had nice look over the large square that the X-32 had as tested. Storm -

So why not just use the Weapons editor and fix the AMRAAMs range back to the WOE standard? Since many of these are 3rd party add-ons, not everything will work 100% perfectly every time. Looks like a simple glitch. Storm -

Interesting point. With many of the current/recent flight sims modelling twin seat aircraft, you would think that eventually they would include the ability to have two people via multi-play share the same jet. IIRC, LOMAC or Flanker had a workaround where two people could be in the same jet. Once again, modders tinkering with something to get what they want out of a sim. The Devs know that there are lots of holes to fill, but so few will step up and make it happen. The TW series is open enough to allow much to be tweaked, but still closed off enough to be frustrating when you know it can do much more. Greets from the sand! Storm -

I've posted this to the Tech guys at CH, but havent heard back yet and thought I'd give it a go here as well. I've noticed lately that the rear Y axis seems to cut out when in use in FS2004. I'll be trying to land, and it will suddenly catch, causing a sharp pitch up. The other axis' are also acting up. They wont always engage. The weird thing is that the mini-thumb stick on the throttle works fine and will override the main stick. I immediately thought it was my potentiometers going out, so I tried a recalibration to see if something was cutting out there. Everything worked fine and calibrated ok. So I tried swapping out my USB connections and moved the stick and throttle to two other USB ports. Still same results. So finally I tried another game. I fired up WoI and yanked and pulled on my stick, so to speak ;), and it worked fine. No loss on any of the axis'. So... what do you guys think? Jeff

Thanks Michael. This is the first time I've ever had conflicts in the 6 years I've been using CH products. How are you guys able to get a second copy of FS9? Is it as simple as copy and pasting? I thought it would be a problem with the registry. Thanks again all, Jeff

I never did get a decent reply from the Tech guys at CH. They said that it could be a problem with an aftermarket product I installed in FS9 and that I should try a fresh install. That will take days as I've got alot added, not to mention all of the Traffic. Yes I've got the Control Mngr installed and up to date. No problems there, so it has to be with FS9. Figures... Thanks for asking though Ghost. It will wait until I get back in November and I'll mess with it then. Cheers, Jeff
