New Project: Hunter GA.Mk.11 help needet
Crusader replied to Soulfreak's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 2 Series - Mods & Skinning Discussion
those bulges are bays to catch the empty links, empty shells are dumped through the pair of small pipes at each side EDIT: switched Casing_Chutes_R <--- thats 99% the right-side double pipes Chute_Housing Chute_Ring Chute_Ring_Under the other 3 meshes are also related to it, but depending on the hierache might dont need to be removed all separately also try Casing_Chutes_L for the left side pipes the list above has some _Bay names, perhaps some of them are the name sof the 2 bulges Since we cant extract any of the SF2 lods anymore, I usually ask TK for mesh names now if I want to mod something, done so ~ 2 weeks ago for some F-15 antenna names. -

Flyable A-1H/J Skyraider for SF2V Ver 1.0
Crusader replied to Dels's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 2 Series - File Announcements
Attached are the four A-1 data inis with gun aimangle value entries added. The AI aims so precise that with the guns shooting straight ahead they miss small targets like AAA every time, bracketing the target nicely ... Skyraider data gun aimangles.7z -

IFF? lol
Crusader replied to GodsLt's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 2 Series - General Discussion
I'm working on a 1983 version of the F-15A, which has TWS ( there was a TWS mode pre-MSIP, I re-checked my sources, dont know the exact time when it was available but 83/84 is a good estimate ) I've also added IFF function to normal search mode, IFF isnt limited to TWS on the real thing. My F-15A avionics enhancement will be updated too. The IFF function in the game is a 100% method, it sorts contacts into friendly and enemy symbols. From my F-15A (83) mod escort mission, the circle left low on the screen is a friendly F-4 bomber flight.. the diamonds near the top are mig-23 and 17 flights .. enemy same scenario in TWS, the F-4 bomber flight is outside the TWS scan volume (60° scan), not visible anymore, I have selected the mig-23 flight - center up - and right low corner are my #3 and 4 heading for the mig 17's ... migs are rectangles and friendlies are dots the exact type of the enemy aircraft was found out by locking them and using the radar target keyboard command , kinda a "lite" enemy IFF interrogator ~ -

moving weapons
Crusader replied to ravenclaw_007's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 2 Series - Mods & Skinning Discussion
Thinking about this issue again, I remember to have observed it some time ago.. I think its somehow related to the moving pylon entries for the folding wing -
Identify aircrafts
Crusader replied to MaGaRCaN's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 2 Series - General Discussion
You can add the IFF contact entries to normal search mode too, its not just for TWS. I dont run the SH atm, would have to take a look into the files to give you a quick "add this and that" example for the particular mod, since I dont know what tga textures are included. ~ I DL the SH and check it out -
Identify aircrafts
Crusader replied to MaGaRCaN's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 2 Series - General Discussion
MaGaRCaN, ah no, my F-15 avionics enhancement , thats a APG-63 radar, already working on a further improved version of it. Current version doesnt have IFF ... but I think I will include IFF by default in the next release. ~ -

Identify aircrafts
Crusader replied to MaGaRCaN's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 2 Series - General Discussion
In your screenshot, the target aspect is shown on the HUD ( the small triangle on top of the circle) and on the radar, the target has a small stick pointing in the direction of movement. There is no digital aspect readout though on HUD or radar, and thats correct afaik. For knowing who is who on the radar, all contacts show as rectangles initially, and after several sweeps the friendly aircraft contacts should change into a circle - but the radar mod shown in your picture isnt mine, so I dont know if that feature has been implemented. EDIT: Also, after the IFF function separated the contacts into friendly and enemy contacts, you can only select enemy contacts with your radar cursor. I have made a APG-65 for A/B model Hornets and have the IFF feature for both Search and TWS modes -

Am I supposed to be doing it?
Crusader replied to Gr.Viper's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 2 Series - General Discussion
Yep, the vertical line of lights on the left edge of the radar housing, the lights indicate target height difference .. but theres no function for it in the game... Thats why I put in a radar antenna elevation marker like on the F-4 radars Closing range indicator will be similar to F-4 too, but using a different texture
