the solution is to make new water bmp files for each terrain, they are in 256 color bmp format and all main terrain ini files ( e.g. DBS.ini ) need the new line for the bmp added, like [Terrain] ... WaterMap=DBS_Water.bmp EDIT: added DBS_WATER.BMP DBS_water.7z -

ok, found out why it did not work for me with stock desert map. I still had the old DESERT.ini inside the folder which was not updated with the new line for water bmp -

update.. works for me on DBS, but I had to zoom in to get stock and add-on ships to be selectable in the GO list -

also add this line to the terrains main ini : [Terrain] ... WaterMap=terrainname_Water.bmp -

Same for stock maps, then default Tanker and CargoShip dont show in the GO list might be not related to the new water bmps at all.. something else.. -

Yea, the bloody ships dont show in the GO list .. weird .. only got one add-on carrier to select so far I made a water bmp for DBS map, experiments continue... -

thats what the new water bmp files are for, e.g desert_water.bmp its a 512x512x8 bbp BMP format file , see it attached, converted to jpg. Seems like all 3rd party terrains need a new custonm file to make it work with the msn editor for placing ships. Should be doable by exporting the map with the terrain editor then recoloring and saving in 8bbp BMP format, or maybe in some other way -

One data ini is a player only FM which handles much more like a true helo, the 2nd data ini has a FM which is usable by the player and the AI (should be the data used by default ) -

Whats the texture size ? Check for DisplayLimit entries ( up to 4 lines ) in the RadarData . the values are pixel Delete or uncomment them, that should help for a start.. -

D, F and G Thunderchief do all have the bombbay. Its simply not modeled with opening doors in the TW aircraft. -

Some time ago TK got complaints that the game lacked action, that too many MiG flights do not react at all if jumped, flying on like nothing is happening at all So TK deactivated all the VisualBlindArc and VisualRestrictedArc setting in the DetectSystem section. That is the reason for the aggressive AI since late 2009 or so ... if AI is inside the VisibleDistance , they see you all the time, no matter where you are. Thats why those MiG-17 are so "uber" now, turning their socks off ... Before that change, you could maneuver into the blind zone, even with a F-4 , AI lost sight and then the weaker AI pilots made the usual things in such a situation, reversing roll etc.. which allowed you to zap them. But not anymore ... What still works is the weak AI in a vertical fight, you can use that to your advantage They zoom up with you but are prone to stall around 30k or so, if done right you can drop in behind them -

Do you mean your own flight ? Easy. Go to Pilot Roster menu, click on assigned pilots to drop them, or on an unassigned pilot to add him. Left-click on a pilot and hold, then move up/down the list to select a different pilot ( e.g with better skills ) for the particular flight position. If you mean AI flights from other bases, that cant be adjusted, afaik. -

Cool.. the Air Superiority Blue scheme is still one of the best looking schemes on the Eagle Just the ECM aerials on the tail stingers of the model are out of place for a non E 2-seater
