  4. No, the other way around, you need to include the internal mesh as part of the external mesh and place it in the same position, which obviously increases considerably the poly count and the workload needed for the external model Even then, you wouldn't have not a perfect implementation, as most 3D cockpits are made of moving parts and other parts that are not closed (omitting back faces that are not visible from the pilot's perspective), and these parts wouldn't cast shadows Razbam's planes are some current examples of external models using the same cockpit mesh as the internal models, and in them you get a taste of partial dynamic shadowing in the cockpit
  5. Dynamic shadows in the cockpit can only be shown if the external and internal 3D use the same cockpit mesh

This is the final version of the mig-21mf cockpit
  7. Birthdays!

Thanks guys!! Cheers to all of you
  8. If only I could do that :/ I just recently acquired Exp 2 and I'm stuck at Oct 11 in a merged install, not willing to give up those beautiful lightnings
  9. That may be a way for reducing cost of development, after taking the time to upgrade the terrain engine Keep in mind that one thing is programming a terrain engine, but another very different is actually creating the terrain for the engine, and I bet that second one implies more resources. If the terrain engine is upgraded the best terrains will be produced by the modders At least that's what I hope
  10. The radar screen is made up of 2 objects, you'll need to hide the second object (the black one in the screenshots) using the method to hide stuff in the cockpit Maybe in the knowledge base there's info on how to do it If I remember right, the relevant node name of the object that you need to hide would be something like "Radar1_Inerte" or similar, look in the .out file of the cockpit for something of similar name
  11. File Name: Hi-Res water normal map File Submitter: Paladrian File Submitted: 10 Jan 2009 File Category: Environmental Mods This is my favorite normal map for water, enjoy! Click here to download this file
  12. I don´t know if anyone else is experiencing this problem, but it happens in all of my installs (both 1st and 2nd gen): The sound of the engine disappears if I spend too much time in the map, and comes back only when increasing or decreasing thrust
  13. Actually, IT DOES install it as part of the instalation process, at least under Windows XP
  14. An implementation I made some time ago (already months) for the A-6 in the game. I achieved certain degree of success in recreating the funcionality of the DIANE system that allows for precision bombing in strike missions The results are convincing and immersive (at least for me anyway)
  15. Actually, with the correct implementation of avionics for precision bombing, flying strike missions in the A-6 becomes quite fun
  16. Dude, that A-26 looks so sweet !! Are they thirdwire's mustangs and meteors, or are they new models? Oh, this is going to be epic, CAN'T WAIT!!!
  17. I've just sent the corrected files to ataribaby for him to update his SF2 cockpit pack
  18. You can do a little bit more than make it "feel" right. The radius of destruction of an explosion is multiplied by a factor which is the cubic root of the multiplication factor of the yield (approximately) For example, the radius of destruction of a 1kT bomb is about 625m, thus the radius of destruction of a 1mT bomb (1000 times the former) is 6250m, 10 times larger (10 is the cubic root of 1000). With this approximation you can calibrate the correct yield for any nuclear weapon If you get it right please let us know
  19. It should be easy... if you know trigonometry The relevant parameters are the gun aim angles in data.ini
  20. Very Nice For cockpit why don't you use the one from the Pulqui instead of A-4?
