  1. Damn!! TK caught me pennyless, I'll have to wait
  2. There is an easy way to do this. In the material editor window, select the material you want and then press the button Select by material shown in the screenshot in purple When the Select Objects window pops up, all relevant meshes will already be selected for you, then just press Select
  3. I play both versions and will continue to do so, in the old games I still can play vs my brother and have invested many many hours in modding my install just the way I like it The new games are considerably better (with the exception of multiplayer), but I'm still very far from getting it the way I want it: just yesterday I spent my entire afternoon in updating just 4 planes Also, when I release on my own something I made, it will be very likely compatible with both versions
  4. Actually everything the game needs is preloaded, unlike CFS or MSFS The problem with the cities is that they have many single different objects (3d buildings): for the graphics engine it is much easier to render 10 1000-polygon objects than 1000 10-polygon objects at the same time
  5. thumbs.db are windows files that keep thumbnails (hence the name) or snapshots of multimedia files, such as JPGs, BMPs and WMVs Keeping these files saves you procesor time whenever you look at the folder containing them (as long as the folder is set to be viewed as thumbnails mode) It's up to you if want to keep them, they're irrelevant for the thirdwire games
  6. F-14A + New terraing engine = instant purchase I hope it supports tracking for multiple targets... but i guess that's wishful thinking
  7. Let's see how it goes I've mapped the offending triangles, so the issue should be fixed. I can't test it though, so don't know for sure You would have had a very hard time fixing it FC , that triangle was actually 4 different meshes Pit.zip
  8. Well I'm finally using SF2 after having ignored the installers for some time Today I tried installing this mod, but it didn't work for me My fps went from 21 to 16... too bad, I thought a 9800gtx nvidia videocard was high end Maybe because I'm using WinXP ??
  9. For digital counters you need to UV Map the node as shown in the screenshot below The bitmap will have the exact same arrangement as the image below Once mapped, the node only shows "0". That's it, configuration is identical to analog display
  10. The new games use different texture names I think, perhaps even different mapping
  11. One pit for the US fighters, kings of the sky One for the soviets, low tech and green tone One for the bombers, with pilots to each side One master pit concept that all can mod In the land of Modders, where this mod flies One pit to fit them all, one pit to fly them With ini edits mod them all, and with the external 3D bind them In the virtual skies, where this mod flies... BTW it's an interesting idea
  12. FRAPS

You need to press the FPS key when you're flying. Pressing it several times cycles the position of the overlay display
  13. Find these lines in the cockpit file Instrument[093]=Canopy_Abre01 Instrument[094]=Canopy_Abre02 Instrument[095]=Canopy_Abre03 Instrument[096]=Canopy_Abre04 and change them to Instrument[093]= Instrument[094]= Instrument[095]= Instrument[096]= That's it Edit: numbers may vary depending of the cockpit
  14. Ooops Don't need to tell you how it ended
  15. If Chuck Norris had a house it would be a Comm Building
  16. you need to add your sounds to soundlist.ini
  17. The problem with the AMRAAM is probably because of attachment type, this plane's nation is listed as USMC which is not included in the missile's nations. Just add USMC to the missile's attachment types and you should have it
  18. Right, you never know what the future will bring
