  1. I downloaded 3 add-on campaigns for WoI. as far as I know I do not need to add anything to my WoI installment. But when I started any of these 3 campaign I would start somewhere in the middle of the air without any cockpit to be seen. Attrition war, War for the water, GS_11. All meant to be played in WoI. Did I miss anything? Game patched to most current version. April 2008 if I'm not wrong.
  2. I looked around and got no clue where to put the new pilot model I downloaded from CA site. For WoI that is. Readme doesn't mention where to put them. arrgh
  3. Thanks Viper . I had thought so too but wasn't sure.
  4. Thanks Kevin. All the subforum choices are making me confused.
  5. Thanks kukulino. Now I try to play vanilla for WoI. @Emp_palpatine:
  6. I'm beaming the enemy means I'm locking the enemy on my radar. They beaming on me means that they have me locked on their radar. Pardon me but which part did I miss.
  7. Really they would try to lock their radar onto me? I didn't know the enemy planes were equipped with radar guided missiles too. Thanks Crusader. I'll try to observe that triangle cue at the bottom center of the radar scope. Squint more!
  8. Just got WOI and now I have a couple of question. Been awhile since I play WOV/WOE too. In WOI will the friendly AI that is planes in my flight attack the mission's targets automatically? Or do I have to order them to attack the target? If I have to order them what order command do I use? I asked because I just tried the 6 day war campaign and I was tasked with destroying hangars on this enemy airfield. I ordered my flight to 'attack ground' since they were not attacking the targets but they proceeded to attack other ground targets and left the hangars unharmed. I'm kind of disappointed of not having been able to fly the Arab's planes. And the lack of variety of planes in the Israelis side. I mean the free downloadable ACs offers more variety in realizing the Arab-Israeli conflict. I know about add-on AC/cockpits and about add-on weapons. But the last time I used the add-on weapons some glitches occurred like the placement of AA missiles on the F-15 were off their weapon pylons. Has there been update to the weapons pack? Which pack should I download? If I want to fly the Arab sides which mod should I download? Thanks. Btw now that I know what the Israelites flew in 1967-1973 they gave me wonder how they could win the air war against such a massive enemy air power and who were equipped with such an advanced aircraft then like the scary Mig-21. I sweat when I have to fight a Mig-21 in the air even when I'm flying the Mirage IIICJ.
  9. Wow you should be marketing WoI. I got all excited when I read your post. Help me find it please. I couldn't find it using the search function
  10. Thanks for all the info on the good stuffs Kukulino. Wow you still remember me? I better watch what I write here from now on. Spooky people forget nothing I miss flying the Mig-21. My old WoV/WoE installation had been uninstalled and the current one is the vanilla one.
  11. I didn't mean the community made add-on cockpits and ACs are bad. Just that most of them are built around modifying existing cockpits. Had the dev made more playable cockpits we would have gotten more authentic cockpit for many planes. I used the add-on ACs and cockpits before and really like some of them like the various Mig-21s. But when I'm looking down the cockpit I could see the terrain. There was a gap that was left out and showing as a hole. But other than that I think it was a terrific cockpit. Stuffs like that irks me so I wish the dev gave us more playable planes in the first place.
  12. Thanks Oh that light. When should I fire the guided missile? When the middle orange/yellowish light lits up or when the bottom green one lits up? I have no problems using the heat seeking missile though. I'm aware of its limitations. Just the radar guided ones. I was just saying there should be more planes included including those of the Arab nations' planes.
  13. Now I never hit anything with the radar guided AA missiles be it the older French R530 Matra or the more nimble American A-7 Sparrow. I hit the insert button and the radar is locked onto the enemy plane but I never get any cue when to launch my weapon so I fired at what I thought to be a short distance but the missiles never guided ino the radar locked target and just flew straight. I read the manual but it doesn't help much. I never had this problem in WoV and WoE before because the radar reticle(gate something as it is referred to in the manual) would change showing me that I'm in range, locked and ready to shoot. Anything I missed in the procedure of firing radar guided missile?
  14. My other planes won't attack the primary targets? That sucks I got the patch. I just wish the dev added some balance to the game like playable red side planes and campaigns. Lock on gives you that, IL-2 gives you that. I know about add on ACs but I'm a lazy person besides I think it would be better if they came directly from the professional dev.
  15. Well for me Lock on is still the more beautiful but that's about it. No dynamic campaign makes the gameplay repetitive and hence boring after awhile. while most people would agree to call WoE/WoV a light sim I regard them as a worthy sim when compared to Lock on. I mean the F-15 has basically the same avionics model both in Lock on and WoE. Overall I would choose WoE because of its dynamic campaign and mission and the explosive number of flyaable ACs including ones that are created by the community. What's your say?
  16. Typhoon,alfa, oscar, 212 and more!

Man anybody got this mod? How is it? Does it add new playable along with new stations? Just seeing the new 3D models makes my mouth watering.
  17. That is one short review. Are we able to fly on the Arab sides?(Migs and Mirage F1C?)
  18. I too always try to start on runway in campaigns even on single missions. I also can't help feeling bored during the ingress. And what egress since I hit the Esc key after I finish the mission. Then again if I start near the target I feel like I'm in some arcade shooting game, my fuel tank is still full too.... Time compression is a big no-no to me so you could imagine my suffering LOL. I try to ease the boredom by viewing my plane and other planes in external view. They are simply beautiful but this only works for a few minutes. Perhaps a good music for ingress and egress would help. Anyone care to share? Has anyone ever bumped into unsuspecting enemy flight during ingress? I'd love to see that in campaigns. So you're not alone. I share your sentiment
  19. Majorfatal you would be making a fatal decision if you didn't get WoI. You're missing much already without WoV and WoE.
  20. Well does it come with a Flanker cockpit? In reality the Indonesian Flankers aren't equipped with any weapon except the 30mm cannon ammo . Just thought this would be useful for those realism freaks flying against or in this particular Flanker Sometimes I think my government is sabotaging its own effort. No missiles? Thanks looks lovely.
  21. The thing that I like besides the number of flyable ACs in WoE/WoV is that I get to feel the weapons of the 60s/70s. The Atoll-2 was some missile hehehehehehe if you knew how to use it. I mean there's a HUGE difference between the R-3S(atoll-2) and the Sidewinder(even early type). Makes you really feel you are flying with real weapons. I've come to appreciate the Mig-21 from WoE/WoV too . The little plane that was demanded so much from during the cold war era. Well looks like I'm ill informed what is WoI? Wings over Iraq? Any link to it?
  22. I'm thinking to get WoE and I already got WoV and enjoying it very much but I have some doubts on WoE because there are many redundant planes from WoV in WoE which means I won't be getting a lot of new playable planes. And second I'm also interested to play as the Soviet and WoE doesn't give any Soviet plane as flyable(one sided game is not fun ). Third though I like the simplified avionics of WoV though I usually go for hardcore sims, I'm aware that the era that WoE covers is more modern than in WoV and I may not like the idea of playing an arcadish game. I don't consider WoV arcadish btw as the immersion is still believable. Is WoE worth getting? or should I stick with WoV? I hate buying something that I would not like in the end.
  23. Whenever I attached the external fuel tanks to my or AI teammates, the external tank would not show as if they were not attached but I could jettison them. Does anybody know what is wrong? Contrary to my expectation of WoE......it's great
