Ooh, gawd, I don't cotton much to that.

I don't believe that can be true, otherwise there would be no "Random" in QC.

Is it possible there is a variation in the experience of individual players according to the power of their CPU in all this?

Try a 12 vs 12 or 20 vs 20 in the quick scenarios and see how long you can run rings around them then. I've had my planes shot to shinola a few times now, for not even one kill in return more than once.

Not sure, the AI don't go near the ground anymore, they stay high.

I have two unused GTX8800 sitting idle in a box, worth bugger-all. It's xmas, do you want one? -

I don't think they've tweaked anything, they stated they were simply going to revert the AI back to 1.32g. -

If the fights in Campaign and pre-made missions are better in HitR but poorer in QC, are we going to sacrifice the improvement in Campaigns and pre-mades for the sake of fixing the issues in QC? -

In the pre-made missions I'm finding the 12 vs 12 and 20 vs 20 are producing perfectly good dogfights. So what's that all about? Why do six AI aces vs one human in QC produce a debacle of an encounter, while 12 vs 12 etc produce a perfectly good one in the pre-made missions? -

You can go into the Workshop and click the Graphics Config button, that gives you a little box: File >> Custom Settings (OK) >> Window >> Overrides. In there you can disable weather and other stuff. -

So many sales lost for the sake of a ha'porth of glue. -
Try taking manual control of your pagefile (and give it a couple of gig). Also try taking one stick of RAM out for each new attempt.

Some mighty fine fighting a great AI !

Ok, enough of that tosh, the AI is totally buggered. I should have lasted no more than a few minutes. I peppered one a bit, broke off expecting to find the usual horde on my tail. Nada. Picked up another and gave him a good pasting, enough to put him out of the fight with a smoking motor. Looked for the others, they were 2500ft away, going in a big circle (four of them). The one I'd originally peppered made a desultory head-on pass, so I chased him again. The four that had been way off in the distance, they came back and paraded across my nose like I wasn't there. I gave one a good kicking. Then one came from behind me and passed over me so low I nearly had a heart-attack, but he didn't fire his guns. Basically they behaved like I wasn't really there, or that I was an unarmed civvy and they were just mildly interested in checking me out and having the occasional squirt for a laugh. Olham, I'm not sure what difference clouds-5 makes. Maybe a bit more complex (more opaque bit-maps to fly through). I've got it on five because it has no appreciable impact on my fps that I can see. -

Actually I think I'll start with me in a Dr1 vs six ace Se5s. -

I've been doing a lot of 3 vs 6 (3 friendlies vs 6 enemies) in QC, random skill. More often than not the friendlies get wiped, leaving me against three or four enemies. I've watched the AI from the ground, after landing, and last watched two Alb DIIs vs one Sopwith Triplane, where they all circled and took shots at each other for over twenty minutes, to no conclusion (I got bored and quit). I considered it to be wholly realistic. I've been bounced more than once in these dogfights and forced out of the fight, more often than used to happen. And the best bit? 90% of this is happening at altitude, instead of on the deck. And when I do get on the tail of a target, it's taking considerable effort to get enough rounds into the bugger to bring him down. This is all in QC remember, where the AI is supposedly less able than in campaign. But if QC is anything to go by I can only assume campaign will be superb. My sliders are on 54455. Anyway, I'm going to go do some me vs one ace now and see how that feels. -
Ever since I took off with dodgy inputs I've always moved all my surfaces before rolling.

Work out how long you think it would take and stay parked for that length of time. If you're in a real hurry, scream "Hurry up, you fools!" at the monitor and take off five minutes earlier. -

The Pup is a superb plane. If it had two guns it'd be my choice of plane right through the war. -
Couldn't really notice much difference. Maybe the surfaces look a little sharper. It did cause graphic anomolies, certain sections of ground showing through clouds. I've gone back to the middle option.
-
Maybe try a fresh new copy of your Zip program too, just in case that's been buggered by something.

I'm getting the feeling that what they're faced with is 2 + 2 not always (if ever) = 4. There is some measure of chaos-theory at work here. Or the butterfly-effect.
