  1. DiD Logbook.

I just checked a post of mine from april of this year, still editable via the standard button. Not sure what's up with your settings.
  2. For attn of the devs.

Or maybe not. Is there a way to change the starting date with a unit by editing a file? RFC-25 is the only other viable candidate but the closest I can get it to a start-date of nov 1916 is april 1916, and using the time-advance button to go through seven months is a hell of a chore.
  3. For attn of the devs.

Thanks chaps. We'll have to re-assign then, I don't think the Strutters are carrying any bombs in fighter-mode.
  4. DiD Logbook.

I believe that if posts are only edited the threads will move from the forum front-page and only reappear when a new post (persona) is started in that thread. The links from the DiD site will find them however deeply buried they have become however. In which case they will cause no blockage.
  5. Olham and Louvert, your C.O. personas on the killboard (non-flying) will inherit the stats of your highest-achieving personas on a rolling basis, just so they look credible.
  6. DiD Logbook.

No, each player should start his own thread, to be used for all his pilot (persona) logs. Each pilot (persona) should have one post each in that thread, each flight's details added by editing the one post. When the pilot dies the new one starts a new post in that same thread. This enables me to give each pilot a link from the DiD site that will always go to that player's one thread. Personally I will always delete my previous pilot's log in order to save on server disc-space and bandwidth here. NB: A logbook is not mandatory, just available to those who wish one.
  7. Windows 7

Yes, and I wish I'd never loaded them. After all these years of practice and experience NVidia still manage to produce shonky drivers on an alarmingly regular basis. I've had mine stop and recover twice this morning, and all I was doing was working in Photoshop. I'll grin and bear it though and hope some better ones are offered soon.
  8. In my opinion it would be odd to all be flying the exact same mission when not actually together in reality. With the generated missions we can imagine ourselves to be leading (or within) seperate flights at different times. But we are, at least, sharing the same units and time-line. :)
  9. That's a hell of a career achievement mate, congratulations.
  10. Windows 7

Three hard-drives (all defragged every week). Total rated power-consumption of the entire rig at full-bore is around 450w, which might be an issue with a single-rail non-modular PSU, but mine has all the necessary wotsits in that regard. It previously ran two GTX8800s in SLI mode without any problems, which consumed considerably more power and I had no power issues there either.
  11. To all pilots; The website is finalized, after some revisions to the layout and look. The general theme is 'WW1 Eye Candy', but also functional (just like a tart's handbag then). From all of you I need your persona names and ranks. Olham has dictated that all his pilots begin with the lowest officer rank. Louvert may or may not wish to stipulate similarly. Please use the Combat Report to update me in this regard. Gentlemen, the rules for this version of DiD are hard. Not only will you lose your stats upon death, you are also required to start in recon/bomber outfits, flying and surviving a total of 17 hours and/or attaining at least 5 confirmed kills (yours and/or your AI crewman's). More than this, if you have made it to fighters and subsequently die there you are obliged to return to recon/bombers with your new persona and start all over again. For those who enjoy the two-seaters this won't be such a hardship, but for those who don't it will suck arse. This, then, will be the test of your grit, your perseverence and dedication to virtual duty. The weak will retire, the strong will endure. And for those who endure there is offered the possibility of glory. In game-functional terms the rules will make virtual death a real pain (at least for those who don't much like driving a bus and dropping turnips out the door). But this is a two-sided coin; by suffering the pain of the two-seater, so much greater will be the pleasure of the scout. And it will foster within your breast an innate and genuine concern for your persona's welfare. Survival first, victory second. I hope this concept, the core DiD concept, will give you added pleasure in your virtual flying and fighting. And so, onwards and upwards and good luck to you all!
  12. Windows 7

Ya, I have a Corsair 625w with dedicated rails thingy.
  13. Windows 7

    What graphics-drivers are you using?
  14. Flight time differences?

It's always been like that. Never much bothered me, it's the CO knocking a bit of time off to account for dropping by the local establishment on the way back from a sortie.
  15. New Nvidea driver

I had a number of 'nv4_disp' errors under XP-Pro after installing and uninstalling the '07s, and have had 'Graphics drivers have stopped working' with them in W7 (which was also a frequent issue with Vista, one of my reasons for getting rid of it). I also get mild jerking and stuttering in W7.
  16. I think it might be a good idea for Olham and RAF Louvert to maintain seperate non-flying personas for the purposes of command (have seperate ones for your flying pilots), to safeguard the RPG continuity?
  17. That's why it's forbidden in DiD (but if it has to go on long enough to give wingmen orders we won't make a song and a dance about it ).
  18. If it has to be done it has to be done.
  19. Oi, we heard that! You bloody Bosche wallah!
  20. I've been trying out the old bus at Orchy, the entire area is heavily forested. I'm running at 554455 and had Object Density on high in the WS settings. At 5000ft I was tootling along and then my FPS started dropping until I had a 5fps slideshow. Worse than that, entire sections of forest started turning black...then my pilot turned black...then some of the dials. I removed 2gb of my 4gb of RAM, thinking maybe it was confusing my 32-bit OS. No joy. Tried moving the game from the D-drive to the C-drive, but W7 didn't like that so I put it back. Then I turned the Object Density down to Medium and bingo, looks like it's solved. Even the mighty GTX285OCX can't handle everything this game is capable of throwing. Forest looks just as nice at medium though.
  21. I gave it a try, sound set to Realistic in WS, cut the motor at 5000ft and the sound is there, but very minimal.
  22. Pip pip and jolly good egg SAH!
  23. That'll be you promoted to C.O. then, unless you have a bally good reason why not.
  24. I was flying CFS3 the other day and got my Spitfire perforated by some flak. The first I was aware of it was when I heard a sudden rushing wind noise, alongside the sound of the engine. I'm actually not aware if it's noticeably modelled in OFF so I'll have a listen with the engine off next time I fly.
