Different aspects of approaching the sim in campaign
Siggi replied to Jammer28's topic in WOFF UE/PE - General Discussion
As with you, on patrol anything goes. Point-attacks I'll fly to the target, aim a few shots down from high altitude, then go on patrol. Attacking ground targets is absolute suicide and I won't do it any more apart from the token shots from high altitude. If they want to court-martial me they'll have to catch me at it first. My flight members don't have any complaints, or at least they haven't reported me yet. -
I believe so. The "Pending" number has also been removed from the pilot's logbook claim page, but that's just a cosmetic.

1.28a has something modified in the claims algorithm.

Dawn Patrol (TSR) miniatures campaign pictures.

Wow, memories of long days & nights playing Panzer Blitz and similar board-games. -
How cool are they? Many thanks to whoever's responsible. The hospitality here is second to none.

Cheers Olham. Should be getting mine any day now. Flg Rutger Hauer is doing alright with the old Halb though. Just bagged my second Tommy, a Be2. Took about five passes though, I'd have problems hitting a barn-door with the lash-up I've got.

Might be an idea. At least then I'll know if malingering is an option.
-
Ruling? DiD + TAC = DiD/T With labels as well = DiD/TL At which point the small children who gather around the aerodrome to watch the planes come and go will point their fingers at you and laugh. And throw stones.

I wonder if there's any way of applying a matt surface to the glass that won't diminish it's transparency?
-
I flew a mission in it this afternoon. Was supposed to be a long one, but my flight was lagging so I turned back to pick them up and the white dots behind them turned out to be Nupe-11s. The Halb was able to turn with them, flies very nicely, but the off-set gun plus lousy visibility is a bugger to shoot with. I got one of them, but more luck than judgement. Didn't run out of ammo though, and that was after shooting at two or three of them. I'm in sept 1916...how long until the Alb DII is issued? If the TiR picks up reflected light from the glasses it will make it go nutso.

By the time I get to five kills I'll be a nervous wreck and probably prime desertion material.

This is info needed for the killboard-omatic: Are the medals awarded according to specific numbers of kills? If yes, could you please tell me (via PM, so as not to spoil the suprise for the chaps) exactly when? Many thanks.
-
That's a good question, and I'm buggered if I can remember. Oh, yes I can, there was a little cut-scene movie when one was awarded. Can't remember what they looked like though, or the criteria.

My TAC is set for 4 miles, which is the max range it'll pick up any a/c anyway. But they come on as white and don't change to blue or red until about one mile away. If they're blue I ignore them (and often ignore white ones if they're too far off my mission route). If they're red I switch off the TAC and start praying while I try to visually acquire the buggers. On this occasion I failed miserably. I still don't know if they came from above or below. My next career is in Jasta 3, flying some ropey old barge called a Halberstadt. Yes, I've been drawn to the hun. Eek!

I would be most grateful if you could give me the data so that Jetlag can use it to configure the killboard and be sure it's synched with the game.
-
I've had a test, and if that's "hardcore" I'm a Dutch uncle. I dispatched six Alb DVa with ammo to spare. I think the fact they go straight down without poncing about like they used to gives the impression it's easier than it used to be. But as CaptSopwith says, it's six of one and half a dozen of the other. Easier to kill, easier to be killed. Harder to kill, harder to be killed. In which case I can see no point in specifying either for DiD, so let them both stand as user's choice.
-
It's nice to keep the game and killboard synched, but if the Yanks have only two medals I can see them getting a bit unruly.
-
I've also noticed that the French have three medals, the US only two (the RFC and Germans have four each). Do the French, US and RFC cross-award to each other to make up the lack? The order of importance would also be useful to know please. One option is to ignore the in-game medals and use the Killboard's own system. What's the opinion on that idea?
-
It'll be one or the other, but I've not tested yet. What are the opinions of the DiD flyers?
-
Uncertainty is part of the immersion for me.

Jetlag is configuring the new board specific to our needs. It's already up, it just needs fine-tuning. Each nation will have it's own page, plus there will be one for the Aces. DiD members will need to register and will be responsible entirely for managing their own entries. Until it's up I'm not going to update the old boards (no point). So just hang in there for a little while longer.

Note of useage. The Killboard-omatic randomly generates a name for you, based upon your nationality. In that case you would need to have the board generate your name before selecting a pilot within the game (so you could give him the same name). I know some of you chaps like to choose your own names, but there you have it.

Chaps, I'm away until monday, so please accumulate your reports and send them on monday morning. Cheers. Jetlag was found alive and well and should be working on the killboard-omatic over the weekend, hope to have good news for that on monday also.
