  1. I haven't had any TE aborts, I just don't get objects much beyond 1,000 showing up in game. I thought about that Russ, just wasn't sure how it would workout on mountainous terrain. I was going to look at Stary's stuff, and see if I can steal any ideas.
  2. I decided to place some trees/objects on my SWUS terrain, and I'm having an issue with them floating on the northern half of the map. This is a single object, placed on a single tile (sand1). There is no HeightMap/HeightMapScale associated with this tile in the SWUS_data.INI. In the southern half they sit right on the ground. In the northern half, they float. Anyone have any ideas? I was about to start making .TOD's for the whole map, but not if the objects are floating. Thanks

  4. That was it. My ZBufferOffset under AlphaObject was 2.0. I set it to 0.0 and the tumbleweeds are ground clamped everywhere. Appreciate it.

  7. Read the Knowledge Base here, then ask if you still don't know how to do something. Most mods come with a decent README, that include install instructions. Try something simple first, like installing a skin for a stock aircraft. Some of the larger mods will just say to drop the top level folder into your SF2 mod folder, but I would recommend poking around and seeing what's where. This will help you learn the directory structure of the mod folder.

  10. I assume you're talking about the LHA that comes stock is SF2NA? If so, you need this mod for the game to treat it like a carrier. Checkout the readme for install instructions and limitations.
  11. I'm working on three Top Gun campaigns for my Southwest US terrain. It's all close to completion, I just haven't been able to touch it since Christmas, due to some personal crap.   12. Man, I have no idea. During, and since college, I've never worked in the commercial world. I vaguely remember someone asking him on the TW forums, but I can't remember If he answered or not. TK I'm sure has the source code backed up and under CM, but he would never freely give it to us. That's not a jab at him, it's his intellectual property. I once had to grab some code out of a F-16 sim that literally was two insanely long files, hud.cpp and mfd.cpp. I bet TK architects his code better than that.

  14. I don't have A10RWRTrackSound.wav and A10RWRLockSound.wav in my SOUNDS folder, so I had no RWR tones. Also, itty-bitty drag chute. It's amazing ravenclaw. Thank you so much.

  16. I've never used the campaign customizer, so I don't know. You can manually edit the _data.ini to change the skin used by a squadron that already exists in the campaign. That's a one line edit. Adding a new squadron is a little more involved.
  17. It's not a bug with either, just the way the campaign system is set up. If you want to use a different skin in a campaign, you have to edit the assigned skin in the campaign's _data.ini, for that particular squadron.
