View File Southwest United States for SF2 ******************************************************************************* ********************** Southwest United States Terrain ************************ ******************************************************************************* This is a remake of Dave's & Deuces SCal terrain, as included in the TopGun campaign from 2003. The following are the biggies: - Previous target areas moved to their correct locations - Several new target areas added - The HeightMap has been regenerated as previous was 3x reality - Completely retiled with 1024x1024 tiles, via gerwin's TFDTool - Custom Nellis AFB and Edwards AFB layouts - Bombing/Gunnery range just east of China Lake Yuma and Tonopah are hostile airfields. Currently, the enemy is set to be the Soviets. This is temporary, as I am currently working several TopGun campaigns and updated, Hi-Res skins, for the A-4 aggressors. You can change this if you like, in the SWUS_NATIONS.INI file. After the campaigns are complete, I plan to work to add city tiles and trees. ******************************************************************************* *********************** INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS ***************************** ******************************************************************************* 1. Copy the SWUS folder into "ModFolder"/Terrains/ 2. Edit "ModFolder"/Terrains/SWUS.ini to point to a stock terrain.cat file that you have installed: CatFile=Desert.cat 3. (Optional) Edit "ModFolder"/Terrains/SWUS.ini to point to an EnvironmentSystem.INI file of your choosing: EnvironmentFile=SWUS_ENVSYS_STOCK.INI ;EnvironmentFile=SWUS_ENVSYS_SARCASM_14.INI ;EnvironmentFile=SWUS_ENVSYS_SARCASM_15.INI I needed to raise the altitude of the clouds, to prevent them from colliding with the high mountains of the terrain. Included are three Environment files whose only edits are the cloud height. If you are using one of Stary's SARCASM mods (recommended), comment out the stock file, and uncomment out the file for the version of SARCSM you're running. Putting on the texture won't work unless it's remapped. That same spot on the texture is used multiple spots on the hangar. Maybe I'll hit Jim and ask. -
Decals On A Ground Object

I want to put a decal on a ground object. I have this hangar in the \Objects\GroundObjects directory, and I've placed it in the terrain with the "UseGroundObject=TRUE". I have a skin folder for it, and it's showing in the terrain. I should be able to place a decal on it just like ships and any other GroundObjects, right? How do I get the mesh name and orientation. This is where I want to put it. Is "Box245" the mesh name? Thanks. -

In the FlightEngine.INI, there is this: [ForceFeedback] ForceFeedback=FlightFFBEffect.ini ForceFeedbackControl=PITCH_CONTROL FadeStartTime=0.2 FadeTime=1.0 There's lots of things to tweak in the FlightFFBEffect.ini. You have to extract both from Flight.CAT. Sorry, forgot about this. -

I'm suggesting that you try changing the settings. First, try increasing ForceFeedbackGain. If that doesn't work, try changing ForceFeedback=0. This will disable feedback from the sim, but it maybe it will stop you from loosing stick forces around center. -

In the options.ini, there are the following: ForceFeedback=1 ForceFeedbackGain=100 You can increase the gain and it will stiffen the forces. I guess try that and see if it helps your issue. You can set ForceFeedback=0 and it will probably stop the problem, but you won't have feedback driven by the sim. -

I believe in the options.ini there are 2 or 4 parameters that deal with FF stick forces. I'll verify tonight when I get home. -

List Of Aircaft Included In Each SF2 Version

We used to have a table that listed what aircraft came in each flavor of SF2: SF2 Europe, SF2 Vietnam, etc. Does this still exist somewhere? I'm writing a READ ME and want to list the bare minimum game versions and DLC's required. -
