99% of the time my OFF HITR install is perfect BUT on a couple of occations it has locked up for several minutes then carried on working, my last one it locked up and went back to the setting up mission screen after I closed OFF down the sound of the plane engine could still be heared in Windows when I was on the desk top I rebooted and all was ok except I lost all of the mission results from the last play. My spec - Windows 64 BIT (up to date) Asus P8P67 M/B (Latest bios) Intel 2500K CPU 8 GB DDR3 Corsair Ram 850 Watt Thermaltake PSU One 1TB Samsung spinpoint H/D HD 5850 Card (latest drivers) Trackir 5 Asus ZONAR DG sound card (latest driver) settings for OFF Image quality from the top - 4-5-3-3-4-4 Overides as stated in the OFF settings for AMD (ATI) Cards - all these are ticked- High Resalution Z Buffer Terrain Detail Texture Disable Vertex Buffers Disable Index Buffers Disable write-only Vertex buffers Disable write- only index buffers And the warning messages. Not an easy one this so any one had this problem of locking up. All other programes and sims ok.

Thank you guys for some good tips, I have just had 90 minuets in a mission flying for J15 June 1918 what a mission had no problems at all. I checked my temp after exiting the game CPU 25c motherboard 33c so im leaving well alone and see how it go's. I could not complete the mission for the time but 90 min and I did warp some of the way or I could have been here for sevral hours but what a sim. Thanks.

Thanks Polovski for the reply, yes the CPU is overclocked it's running at 4.3 (stock 3.3) and I just know it will go higher but for now it's fast enogh for me. I have just updated the sound card driver. Could you tell me what of the graphic settings that have the bigest inpact on OFF, I do like the eye candy you see, after all will such a rich terrain that the team has given us how could one turn down the graphics this is why I purchased these components for my PC build so I can see EVERY thing OFF has to offer. Thank you.

OT.. Luftwaffe destroying London & Birmingham again
don246 replied to Davy TASB's topic in WOFF UE/PE - General Discussion
I would not normaly reply to this type of thread as this is for OFF and not a political forum, so I have just one thing to say if all goverments considered there own people first. Charity begins at home from the richest nation to the poor one. -
After updating my computer to Windows 7 64 bit and a Intel 2500k I can now run OFF HITR flat out and what a wonderful sim it is I have had OFF from the very begining but have only just reinstall it on my new PC it would not run smooth on my other computer and what a great time im enjoying the campaign mode the imersion is well you know im preaching to the converted here, looking forward to the next update if it takes ten years to come im not cared as the one I have now is so good. I know it's all been said before but I just thought I would let the world know how good OFF is.

Not wishing to make this a thread about CPU's to any one contemplating the Intel Sandy Bridge (were do they get the names from)CPU for what it's worth this is the 4th PC I built over a long time and the best by a mile I have a 2500k and Asus P8P67 M/B the board comes with the usual install drivers ect and also the Asus AI Suite II programe, the stock CPU runs at 3.3Ghz now one click of the mouse in the AI Suite and 30 seconds later it's running at 4.3Ghz and that is not using the turbo overclock just checked the temps the CPU is running 24c and the M/B at 32c aircooled with after market cooler. I have always liked Asus boards and this one with the above CPU gives the best bang for you money for me.

I have just built a new PC SPEC - WINDOWS 7 64 BIT, AMD 5850 CARD with the 11.6 drivers, Asus P8P67 M/B, Intel 2500K CPU, 8 GB CORSAIR XMS RAM (ONLY 4gb installed now will see how it go's then install the other 4 gb at first I thought it was one of the 4 x 1 memory strips that was faulty) No over clocking. First time I boot up all was well and for some time then after some days I had the BSOD time after time it would load to the desk top and the little blue round thing on screen showing loading files then near the end the BSOD happened on every reboot from then so I booted into safe mode and did a system restore not thinking this would work but up to now all is ok. Never had a BSOD with XP 32 BIT well Windows 7 is progress.

Have read the FAQ regarding running OFF on Windows 7 but my question is will it run on Windows 7 64 BIT O/S.?

All working ok BHAH & HITR. Just for the record I installed CFS3 to C:\Games\CFS3 OFF was then installed to it's default folder C:\OBDSoftware. one last thing I had all OFF running on my old PC and I made some notes as to how to install it to that PC at the bottom of my notes after all has been installed my note says - Then install the OFF_Essential_MP_File-Installer.exe (When prompted DO NOT install the optional damage model) What is that all about? I do not remember that and do not have the file my install runs ok. Thanks for all the feedback.

Well I have had so many problems and spent so much time trying to get OFF BHAH to run, CFS3 runs fine patched to 3.1. OFF BHAH loads ok go into craet a pilot then - The error messages I get when trying to create a pilot - "ERROR COPYING FRONTLINE OR MAPS TO CFS3 MAP PATH C:\GAMES\CFSWW1 OVER FLANDERS FIELDS\CAMPAIGN MONTH:4 CAMPAIGN YEAR 1917.COPY LCF TRY REINSTALING OFF". I HAVE WINDOWS 7 64BIT BOTH CFS3 AND OFF INSTALLED TO A FOLDER C:\Games I had OFF BHAH + HITR working ok on my XP machine unlike so many im not a great fan of Windows 7 perhaps I was so many years with XP that being a old sod it takes time to adapt. Any kind sole have any ideas.

Thanks for the replys guys, this is a new PC just built using W7 64BIT so apart from the BSOD loading Windows, I seem to have it stable now fingers crossed. I see I have two folders one Programe files the other Programe files (X86)? Do I just let CFS3 & OFF install in there default folders or is it best to make a folder say I name it games (outside Programe files folders) and install it to that ?.

don246 replied to quack74's topic in Thirdwire - First Eagles 1&2
Im sorry to say but I had to give up on it disspite you trying to help me and I thank you but I could never get it to work. Since we moved from FE1 to FE2 I have had problems were to put files and editing stuff in FE2 so I give up on it and stick with FE1 or FE2 standard. The other problem I had was diffrent from you is im using XP SP3 and that do's not help as your readme if I remember was for Vista or Windows 7. I understand you have put a lot of time and love into this project and I thank you, so I say once again I have given up on it im sorry to say XP FE2 for me hold to many problems. -
