STRIKE FIGHTERS 2
Gr.Viper replied to Crusader's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 1 Series - General Discussion
*draws a PR kill mark on the side of the keyboard* -
There's not much K about SF2 to create a B, for a start.

Anyone working on a Fiddler?
Gr.Viper replied to Kobuspoes's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 1 Series - Mods/Skinning Discussion
Ah, it leads to modders subforum. But there's a WIP Fiddler and it looks nicely -

ships a little low in water in WOV
Gr.Viper replied to hgbn's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 1 Series - Mods/Skinning Discussion
Strangely, it's the same fix as the shimmering water fix in KB. TK said that altering water mesh level affects both z buffer and placement of objects on the water. And the latest patch placed water a bit lower than it was before. -

ECM use question in TW-series and in a real combat
Gr.Viper replied to vulkan's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 1 Series - General Discussion
Soviet SAMs in the 70s have home on jam capability, so having ECM on al the time can be asking for trouble. I use ECM only to break lock and then turn it off. Here's a recent thread on that subject http://forum.combatace.com/index.php?showt...t=0&start=0 -
Точно? В SF2 я вижу как они быстро (но не сразу) падают до холостого хода, а потом уже перескакивают в 0.

Як отсуствовал? Никто ничего не спрашивал, вот и молчу.

Gun jam

Another thing to ask TK about -
Gun jam
Gr.Viper replied to New Guy's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 1 Series - General Discussion
Gunpods can jam too, BTW. Mk 4 once jammed on me after spitting only 72 rounds. It is there  -
Snoopy's Gone......
Gr.Viper replied to 542Tiger's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 1 Series - General Discussion
In SF2 it isn't http://www.thirdwire.com/project_sf2.htm -
Try landing next to glowing HOTEL letters on a hotel roof in the town next to the airfield from training flights. Very narrow. Spent there at least an hour, touched it, but drifted away...

Snoopy's Gone......
Gr.Viper replied to 542Tiger's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 1 Series - General Discussion
Even the Bird Dog plane is gone from official plane list. Maybe WoV will bring something Someone already noticed that campaign data in latest patch WoV mentions replaced aircraft as well as currently used fillers... Maybe TK will add stuff later on -
It tracks surprisingly good for a face recognition sofware. Pity it emulates mouse, not a standalone tracker.

Happy New Year! As you might know it is the New Year not the Christmas that is the time to share presents here in Russia. So I've got a straight razor Never used one so in 2009 I might be off for an interesting start...

Alaska Eagle
Gr.Viper replied to Erwin_Hans's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 1 Series - General Discussion
He seems to be more into early jets now getting closer and closer to early 50s Maybe we won't see advanced avionics, but I hope for further improvements in FM... stalls mig-alley style would be cool... -
I'm sorry, but X52 Pro with pedals doesn't quite qualify as a portable device. And ST90 is impossible to find now. So I rigged one stick to work as flight sick, another for view panning, D-pad for extra buttons and analogue triggres make a fine rudder control. And this pad has a fan inside for cooling hands in hairy situations.

Well, I may be running SF2 at lowest settings and a 10" screen on my tiny black box But that's "Guns!" on hard FM with easy HUD
