It works! Grreat. Now I'll try to find a way to exterminate 27 angry, sober and moderately skilled riflemen. Weird thing is that AI planes now start this mission going up and down... Is Ilya Muromets flyable? Or at least shootable? It doesn't show up in plane list (despite being in aircraft folder) and I get CTD trying to load ready missions that seem to contain it.

I came across a special DVD .iso floating around the web which makes installation quite simple. You don't even have to install SDOE first. Got some question though: When I make a new mission (strafing, for B.E.2c) my squadron either starts with engines stopped mid-air or with engines running but the plane falls apart shortly after mission begins. Tried different altitude/speed settings but could figure out the reason... Is there a way to control gunners? Like maknig pistol hand change target, or forcing gunners to shoot at ground objects?

WOW! I just tried FSWW1 for the first time. I like OFF:P2 for hardcore campaign, FE:EP1 for angry AI, RB3D+mods for creaky planes. And I'm gonna love FSWW1 for planes rarely seen elswhere, for Foster mount, for carrier take off and for shot down planes that do not fade away or disappear in the fireball but just stay there... I mean, Knights of the Sky will have to try really hard to impress me when it's out Managed to win dogfight on Taube not with revolver shots, but by crashing Bleriots into the ground. Then lost control myself, though wasn't hurt that badly. Looked at Bleriots - both had wings ripped off, one was flipped over and burning. And I don't know why they coudn't jump out, but pilots were inside this burning wreck and screaming.

Latest version is here http://dosbox.sourceforge.net/ And it's most likely to work - I've managed to run dozens of oldies with this. Setting everything up might be a little tricky though.

Nah... just thought of an action movie with green-eyed good guys, red-eyed bad guys and some Han-Solo-type yellow-eyed guy who switches to green in the last minute.

Погоди, ты не на Windows Vista? На ней симы Thirdwire не запускаются, причем симптом вылета на 80% тоже встречается. Другие глюки (вылет после нажатия Esc) тоже бывают. Но есть фикс Обновить DirectX 9 и драйвера видюхи. Попробовать запустить игру в режиме совместимости с XP. Можно даже для начала попробовать установить SF gold в режим совместимости. Если не помогает, есть еще крайний фикс Найти в папке Terrain/(имя карты)/ файл (название карты)_DATA.ini Найти в нем пару строчек UseEffectShader=TRUE и сменить true на FALSE Вроде бы это избавляет от бага с вистой Для того, чтобы аналогичную процедуру провернуть с картами, поставляемыми с игрой, нужно вот этой утилитой распаковать .CAT в папке карты. Точнее даже не распаковать, а просто извлечь ***_DATA.ini, аналогично поправить и оставить лежать в той папке.

Инструкциям по установке корейского мода (Korean Air War Complete Mod) точно следовал? Установить SF P1, пропатчить, удалить все самолеты из Objects/Aircraft Распаковать в объекты вот это - http://forum.combatace.com/index.php?autom...p;showfile=2672 Кинуть корейскую карту в Terrain, a распакованные Campaigns, Flight, Menu, Objects, Sounds прямо в папку игры, переписав все что нужно. Установка Korean War Mod Update вроде попроще, но Red Falcon Korean War add on на обновленную Корею может не встать - он задолго до ее выхода появился (см. даты). А апдейт в кампаниях что-то правит, поэтому может быть нестыковка из-за которой она и обрывается.

So... I made another bash at this SPAD XII. Ca. bird. For EP1 this time. In case you haven't heard of it - that's a fighter with a 37mm cannon firing through the spinner. My version is a minor edit of SPAD XIII. SPAD12.rar Installation is not user friendly yet. Go to Objects/Aircraft. Create folder SPAD12. Copy there all camo folders from SPAD13 folder. Unpack ini's there. Don't forget to assign secondary fire button in control options - it fires the cannon. What you get is a plane armed with an awesome deadly gun capable of ripping any plane to shreds with one hit. The catch is that it's nearly impossible to aim the cannon (use MG tracers like real pilots did) - I haven't hit the target once in whole evening. Thanks to new game engine, increased weight and reduced hp, the "bird" now handles like a cow. I also made another adjustment and shifted center of gravity a bit forward and believe me you'll feel that. Since cockpit position is determined by CG I had to tweak the pit back into place. After you try this, you'll understand why it hadn't been mass-produced. You must hit reload after each shot. You have 12 shells in total. Reload time - 12secs. Note that reload sound lasts only 6. BYOW. To take off without ending up stuck in dirt outside the airfield push the stick first to get tail skid in the air. That really helps to gain speed faster. You can try taking the whole flight armed with those kites (AI sometimes fires the gun too) but having something agile around to guard you is much more advisable. I'm eager to hear some suggestions to minor FM/data adjustment. Minor, 'cause I'm no FM genius and those tables scare me. Also I'd like to know if anyone is getting their plane labelled as SPAD XIII instead of SPAD XII. This bug appeared when I added tweaked cockpit.ini from S.13. P.S. Anyone already tried assigning S.13 pit to S.7? Does it fit?

Ok. Figured out the S.XIII. name issue. It happens when you first select an all SPAD XIII. flight and then switch your plane to XII. One less troulbe. Finally managed to get a couple of hits from very close range. AI doesn't like the plane much though. Didn't fire the gun once this time.

Well usually hotfix it's a sort of patch that is released quickly to fix some really nasty issues that make game unplayable.

Можешь дать ссылки на то, что скачивал? А то файлов такая пропасть, что сориентироваться сложно. Насколько я знаю этот движок, при создании онлайновой игры нужно чтобы у тех, кто подключается, стояли все те же моды, которые установлены на компе создающем игру. Договориться же об игре проблемно т.к. встроенного чата и лобби не наблюдается, поэтому списываются где придется... В обычном чате, на форумах и т.п. А, есть еще универсальная софтина Hyperlobby - http://hyperfighter.sk/ Для связи и поиска серверов, которых для этой серии симов как-то совсем немного.

I like the look of autumn map. A LOT! And the new smoke... But at the moment I'm more worried about the AI. Can't shoot anyone down - they always get me. Stock duel missions against D VII are now quite challenging.

Got the EP just now, flew a mission on G.IV - bombs were there under her belly. Maybe clean install can solve the problem?
