something interesting happened in SF2 Europe
Gr.Viper replied to whiteknight06604's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 1 Series - General Discussion
I've seen my wingman on an undamaged stock F-15 pull this stunt in SF2E. The abandoned plane had plenty of altitude and recovered itself... -

That's what I did. Also pulled out Three and Four. Two already went down by that time. No kills, mission failed. Still, if we weren't there a low-flying flight of A-4s in the area would be wiped out completely. Funny, how head-on engagements with Frescos start with the words "I can't shake him!" With other planes it usually takes a minute or two -

Sometimes you just know you can't win -
Well, as you said the troops are doing their job. The better they do it the safer they are. At the same time it's not the troops who decide that some war is necessary, it is someone at the back, while the troops are supposed to follow the orders. It seems quite natural to be against the idea of putting lots of people at risk for a goal you don't find reasonable and to wish them success and a safe and sound return. When there was a hostage situation here in a theatre in Moscow, the reporters announced the beginning of the police assault and have shown squads entering the building. Live. Since then they've got a bunch of restrictions stuffed up their backside.

Do you ever seen parked planes during campaign missions?
Gr.Viper replied to Murphy'S's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 1 Series - General Discussion
The simplest way to check whether or not you're going to see any parked planes in campaign during flight is to look at pre-flight map. The airfields with squadrons will have parked planes, the empty have none. Moreover, if you have good intel and make frequent flights, you'll see that the strength of the squadron goes down after strafing, and destroyed buildings remain wrecks for a while. -
Oh, go play TAGAP http://www.tagap.net/ Or if you prefer the other side of the lines, try The Seal Hunter (penguins inside) http://www.acc.umu.se/~asker/

How do I take off with the Harrier SF2E?
Gr.Viper replied to DarthRevan's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 1 Series - General Discussion
AIs take off as normal airplane and so should you. Maybe with a little boost at the end of the run to get in the air faster. If you really want to do the VTO and hover, you sholud practice hover landings first. Then the plane transits from stable level flight to unstable hover gradually and you'll have the chance to get used to the handling without blowing up on the spot. -
Realism questions

Just in case somebody makes separate installs. As a side effect, they use 3 different Save Games folder, so 3 separate mod-pack setups can be created without extra ini edits. -
Growler, you copied shortened links with "...". Either copy them from address bar or via right click, to make proper copy to paste.

No variants? Fishbed-C is harmless unless you ram it, while Fishbed-L can make a few extra holes even in Eagle on a good day... -

...something like 14,5 mm machine gun. I lost tons of planes to that. Kinda understandable why A-10 was required. -

I think, the Russian air doctrine is to deploy a ****load of SA-10 and wait for the kamikaze. -
The optic nerve, silly My AV is switched off. I run an HDD scan once in a while but realtime protection is an overkill when you know which buttons to push.
