The Champ is an great machine...but it's mindless without a pilot...and the pilot is mindless to NOT have someone inside on the brakes when it's hand-propped. I have about 20-30 hours flying Champs...and it was the first small plane my wife has ever flown in... I guessed I missed my spousal hostage opportunity....damn! <C> Fates

My Apologies PG_Raptor, I think I'm still getting that bug where the buttons don't show new posts. I've also been completely immersed in FarCry for about 8 days straight, and I'm currently writing the review for it. Is it worth getting...Hell ya. It has it's problems, but what game dont today. I'm positive that will be fixed, and it's good to see Crytek post a patch 2 days after release in comparison to LOMAC which took several months if I remember right. Zagnut, I have the Radeon 9700 Pro AIW. I have had minor graphical problems with everything at medium. I have had 3 VPU errors and Computer locked each time during the entire game. There is a great amount of information on the technical forums at UBI for FarCry. Here's a great link to solutions (for now) on typical ATI problems. http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/6/ubb.x?a=tpc&s=...891&m=428107813 This game is now where near as messed up as BattleField: Vietnam is to ATI users. And from what I'm reading it's mostly the lower end cards. Some have tried the OMEGA drivers with some success, but I'm gonna stick with CAT drivers all the way. <C> Fates

HL2 and Doom3 sure have their work cut out to surpass what Crytek has done. Let me know Skater.... I'm running: Asus A7V8X with AMD 2800 1GB DDR 2700 ATI 9700 PRO AIW with Cat 3.9 I have not been having probs with graphical sets at medium to high. CRYTEK has done many first IMHO: Europe release on DVD Only Release of Game Editor with Original Game Upcoming release of 64Bit Edition ANd the list goes on.....Crytek is really putting the screws to the HL community. There are countless modders that have been waiting for HL2 for way to long...and now Crytek introduces everything the HL2 can offer...and the editor? Go Figure. I've seen several Modders drop all their 3d plans to start a FC MOD instead. They are just sick of waiting for HL2...and the Crytek engine in simply incredible. I'm about complete with the SP game...and I've got some MP time in as well. the review is coming along...I hope it don't dissapoint...I expect it wont. I'll try not to give away any spoilers. <C> Fates

The two-seat Tomcat experienced engine trouble after taking off on a routine training mission from the aircraft carrier USS John C. Stennis, then crashed about two miles (3 km) off the California coast while trying to land at San Diego's Naval Air Station North Island, the Navy said. Both air crew members ejected safely, were picked up at sea, and were listed in good condition at a Navy clinic. The Tomcat was part of a squadron from Naval Air Station Oceana, Virginia. The single-seat Hornet, based out of Naval Air Station Atlanta, went down in an unpopulated wooded area about 30 miles (50 km) north of Chattanooga, said Cmdr. Jack Hanzlik, a Navy spokesman. The Hornet had performed a ceremonial flyover of a NASCAR auto racing event in Bristol, Tennessee over the weekend, and was flying back to Atlanta went the plane experienced problems, Hanzlik said. The pilot was taken to a local hospital after ejecting and was treated for minor injuries. The Navy said it was investigating the cause of both crashes. On Friday, another Navy Hornet crashed after takeoff from Raleigh-Durham International Airport in North Carolina during a training mission. The pilot safely ejected.

I was talking to Beer last night about this same thing.. It did not state on the box that it WOULDN"T work with ATI, but all the ATI users are fumming mad about it. My guess is that if you are the developer, you become supported by a particular manufacture of video cards. In this case Nvidia. I'm 100% positive that Nvidia is trying to get a grip on a market that they lost control of. What better way to regain control then to squeeze developer and publishers that have long been supporters. It's better (and easier) to shower them with free equipment that they need and work closer with them to develop their product, rather then to make a better product. <--the obvious solution. I'm sure this has ATI absolutly deluged with angry card owners. Is it ATI's fault, no, but I'm sure they will be quick to fix it...unless the developers correct it in a patch first. New cat drivers don't work as well, and from what I hear, the 3.6 cats are favored with aa and shadows turned off, and fsaa turned on. I do believe that games will always be weighted to favor the supporting vid card manufacture...we've all seen it. I also believe that the paying public will get wind of it and sales will decline due to it. Fact remains....they had to know about it in the open beta tests. Take SFP1 for example, rwr didn't work with ATI cards....they new about that...but that was minor problem compared to Frame rates being in the single digits. <C> Fates
