  4. ok....where's the heat effects? Or are they only apparent beyond the AB rings or with no AB?
  5. Radeon 9700 Pro All-in-Wonder

If by "FB" you mean Fat Bastard, I posted my pic in the PICS Thread. If you mean "Forgotten Battles", well...Send me your game...I'll be happy to. I suppose I could wait for a demo to be released for FB and show some pics from that. I just got off the IL2 site...don't go there often... (since props are for smashing bugs) and I didn't find a Demo for FB...only the original. The game is graphically stunning, and from what I see and hear..it's also incredible realistic. I played Janes WW2, and I also played the IL-2 Demo. Both, IMO, were excellent games. Send me the game...I'll indulge you retinas! Cheers Fates
  6. Airspeed Indicator The airspeed indicator is a sensitive, differential pressure gauge which measures and shows promptly the difference between (1) pitot, or impact pressure, and (2) static pressure, the undisturbed atmospheric pressure at level flight. These two pressures will be equal when the aircraft is parked on the ground in calm air. When the aircraft moves through the air, the pressure on the pitot line becomes greater than the pressure in the static lines. This difference in pressure is registered by the airspeed pointer on the face of the instrument, which is calibrated in miles per hour (MPH), knots, or both. Kinds of Airspeed There are three kinds of airspeed that the pilot should understand: • Indicated Airspeed • Calibrated Airspeed • True Airspeed Indicated Airspeed Indicated airspeed (IAS) is the direct instrument reading obtained from the airspeed indicator, uncorrected for variations in atmospheric density, installation error, or instrument error. Calibrated Airspeed Calibrated airspeed (CAS) is indicated airspeed corrected for installation error and instrument error. Although manufacturers attempt to keep airspeed errors to a minimum, it is not possible to eliminate all errors throughout the airspeed operating range. At certain airspeeds and with certain flap settings, the installation and instrument error may be several miles per hour. This error is generally greatest at low airspeeds. In the cruising and higher airspeed ranges, indicated airspeed and calibrated airspeed are approximately the same. It may be important to refer to the airspeed calibration chart to correct for possible airspeed errors because airspeed limitations such as those found on the color-coded face of the airspeed indicator, on placards in the cockpit, or in the Airplane Flight Manual or Owner’s Handbook are usually calibrated airspeeds. Some manufacturers use indicated rather than calibrated airspeed to denote the airspeed limitations mentioned. The airspeed indicator should be calibrated periodically because leaks may develop or moisture may collect in the tubing. Dirt, dust, ice, or snow collecting at the mouth of the tube may obstruct air passage and prevent correct indications, and also vibrations may destroy the sensitivity of the diaphragm. True Airspeed The true airspeed indicator (TAS) is calibrated to indicate true airspeed under standard sea level conditions—that is, 29.92 in. Hg. and 15° C. Because air density decreases with an increase in altitude, the airplane has to be flown faster at higher altitudes to cause the same pressure difference between pitot impact pressure and static pressure. Therefore, for a given true airspeed, indicated airspeed decreases as altitude increases or for a given indicated airspeed, true airspeed increases with an increase in altitude. A pilot can find true airspeed by two methods. The first method, which is more accurate, involves using a computer. In this method, the calibrated airspeed is corrected for temperature and pressure variation by using the airspeed correction scale on the computer. A second method, which is a “rule of thumb,” can be used to compute the approximate true airspeed. This is done by adding to the indicated airspeed 2 percent of the indicated airspeed for each 1,000 feet of altitude.
  7. demo for fair strike?

My GUESS is that it's still too soon to release a demo.... Most games don't release a demo until they're in the final stages of goin gold anyway. Creating a Demo is a great undertaking by the dev team, and can put a serious crunch on Gold release times. I would expect a demo out "assuming they make a demo" about 2-3 weeks prior to Gold release. That's still a long time to wait. But, that's also time that we can help promote the game as well as assist the dev team by giving them feed back as to what we want to see when it goes gold.
  8. SDirickson, Last time I got a student loan I bought me a new Gamer machine. Of course it was a Win 3.1, 166Mhz, but it would run the hell outta Doom and Leisure Suite Larry....hehe.... Always look at the bright side! Fates
  9. I just asked Matt about those heat effects on the LOMAC forum last week...he just made my day... Thanks Matt!!! Buy the crew a round and send me the bill!
  10. Shepski.. So Photo Realistic, pilot glared on the MFD, WOW WOW WOW Incredible work guys....this stuff is gonna smoke my Radeon 9700 Pro.
  11. Welcome Skater to Biohaz

Cheers Skater! Next rounds on me.....
  12. Hope they don't mind me linking the pics but here's a few: As was pointed out by GlowingAmraam over at Lomac Forum: "Look at the relfections of the clouds on the water!"
  13. I still think they need to turn down the NAV lights a touch. I'm also curious how they can reflect cloud images on the water, but there are no NAV lights or Afterburner reflections on the runway from this shot: I'm also suprised that there is no engine smoke from the 4 engine aircraft. Either way, I'm more then happy with anything LOMAC produces. Cheers!
  14. This my BiohazCentral of whatever!

    LMAO
  15. FYI: Download here: http://hyperfighter.jinak.cz/modules.php?n..._op=getit&lid=7
  16. Vlad, You mentioned in the several interviews from above that I would be able to land on a carrier or ground. My question would be: To what extreme will collisions, or CFIT (controlled flight into terrain) be modeled? Will I be able to land on the roof-top of a building, or bounce off a Hummvee as long as my Vertical Speed is sufficientl low? WIll I be able to set my Apache down on the deck of a Sub and ride along the water with it? Will my rotors get caught in powerwires that I noticed in a screenshot of the game? Cheers! Fates

  18. The post your pic thread

Would that be the Jolly Lolly Rogers?
  19. Cookies?

Man....Weasy said "Wife", Dial-up" and "AOL" all in once sentence...OMG!. Tell the Misses I said Hi! Hope to see ya both at Dayton!

    Damn, That Beer is Big!
  21. We formed under Janes USAF about 2 1/2 years ago. Mainly we're just a group of pilots from all over the globe that love to livin up the game. We're a bunch of flight sim enthusiast at heart. Currently we are playing USAF, Strike Fighter: Project 1, Nascar2003, America's Army. We can't wait to add LOMAC to the list. We've got several members that are Hog Fanatics, while some love the Mig and F15. Most of the membership have come from different squads that have retired. We're not a 21 and over squad, but age does seem to have some advantages. You'll definately see us in the Hyperlobby flying. May even buy ya a beer (coke for minors). :D Cheers!
  22. New F-86 and Mig Model

Get you new plane here: http://www.tesscar-aluminum-craft.com/index.html They also have new Mig-15:
  23. New Exclusive Fair Strike Screenshots!

Such Incredible Detail....WOW! From the lighted buildings, incredible textures, .....man! This is gonna be the UT for helicopter enthusiast. I'm getting hungry for "hide-n-seek" multiplayer combat or "Land on the Oppenents Flag" matches....
  24. I've pretty much quite flying with all the problems I've had between Win XP and my Radeon 9700 Pro. I'll have to dust it off again tonite and test that....rarely fly cockpit view. I'm more of a "Show me the planet with a HUd display" view person. However I always switch to cockpit view for landing and takeoff. <C>
  25. The post your pic thread

I think some of you have seen this pic before: Just me at work in my Hawker 800.
