Flightsim nirvana!
Fates replied to N42-Hollywood's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 1 Series - General Discussion
I can think of countless tunes to be shooting down migs by, but after seeing that shot on LOMAC under the overcast, I can think of nothing better to come home to and get out my frustrations then this: A solo flight...no bogeys...no nothing...just everyday civilians and vehicles doin everyday things while I push my F15 to speeds that test the paint. All this while listening to Phil Collins whoopin arse on the drums to "In the Air Tonite" Just my 2 cents -
can I mod with gmax?
Fates replied to Dagger's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 1 Series - Mods/Skinning Discussion
Unfortunately...not yet.... But I'm thinkin there may be a way to convert from one format to a few others then to 3ds...not sure....gotta let the pros answer all the detail on this one. -
How do i learn to make skins?
Fates replied to KillerWOLF's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 1 Series - Mods/Skinning Discussion
TK and the Crew will be putting out a tutorial on the decals...should come with the patch due out soon. As for using 3DsMax, this is something alittle different then just skinning. The Skunkworks crew as well as TK and the rest may have a tutorial out soon about adding aircraft to the game. I'm looking foward to it as well..I'll soon be starting a B58 Hustler as my first project. -
Flightsim nirvana!
Fates replied to N42-Hollywood's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 1 Series - General Discussion
Just stay tuned....cause I plan on editing many of the sound bits to include radio chatter that has Adrian Cronower giving his radio cast in the background...before puttin on some Stones or maybe even Grand Funk railroad...hehe -
Amazing looking Sim !!
Fates replied to JimC's topic in Digital Combat Simulator Series General Discussion
LOMAC has released tons of information, including movie trailers, pic, faq's, etc. Unfortunately LOMAC is not using any civilian beta testers. They are concentrating their efforts towards the people that they have employed or hired to consult them on this sim. Many of these are former or current fighter pilots so don't think that they don't know what their doin. This game will be some fast paced action....that's for sure -
WallyWorld version SFP1
Fates replied to Slambog's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 1 Series - General Discussion
You can get the Wally Beta patch here: http://www.strategyfirst.com/downloads/pat...P1_WMpatch2.EXE However, you can contact Strategy First and they will send you a GOLD edition of this game. Word is that most purchasers are receiving it within a few days. You want to make sure you do this because Gamespy and Hyperlobby will soon be updating to only support the Gold version and eventually the Patched Gold Version. Sounds like a lot of patches, but its hard to find all the problems with just a handfull of beta testers and such. By getting the game out, you put it in the best position to find the most amount of tweaks needed in the shortest amount of time. Thus hopefully only releasing one LAST patch. <C> -
CHeers 667th Welcome to Biohazcentral. I see your squad like many others are just waiting for the members to pick up this game. I'm still waiting myself!! Anyway glad you could join us here for all the latest news and reviews. <C>

It's been brought to my attention by my co-worker, an ex F15c crew cheif that there is definately a bug with the new F15 screenshot LOMAC produced: F15 bellies arn't that clean..... hehe

Actually there have been some great flight models come from Snakebite and a few others for the whole USAF game. The SP9 release of USAF has included these flight models. They've taken care of the porpoising issues with the F4 as well as many other things. Many of these flight models can be found at McFly's http://www.bobsyouruncle.net/mcflyhome.htm I'm not sure about importing or converting between the two games, but I'll check on that for ya. The Code is probably completely different. Besides there's a FM editor out there somewhere for USAF, and god forbid there ever happens to be one made for SFP1. The Stock FM's are what everyone needs unless changed in an official patch. The last thing I want to Hear in a SFp1 lobby is the word "Hack"

Madjeff has started a list of Virtual Fighter Squadrons, however, it's up to the squads to start leaving a link so we can get them posted. I hope everyone leaves us a link to their squad page so we can get this list rolling no matter what sim you play. Here's where you can view/add a link to a squad page. http://www.biohazcentral.com/modules.php?o...=viewlink&cid=8 I hope this grows into a great database. With Madjeff blessings, I'll even try to make sure that defunct squads get removed as well as new squads get recognized. Strike Fighters does not yet have a yellow pages, except for here and a few squads that list other squads. You probably will not have one on the Thirdwire or Strategy First web sites.

Fates posted a topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 1 Series - Mods/Skinning Discussion

Hello all from Network 42 !
Fates replied to N42-Hollywood's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 1 Series - General Discussion
I must say Hollwood and the rest of the N42 crew....Welcome to Biohaz Central. I hope you find a home here for the Air support you ground pounders need...hehe... As you well know the future of sim is not FPS or Flight Sims...it's "Combat Sims" like BF1942 where you can fly, walk, drive etc...Having great communities like your own mix with other great communities like BioHaz can greatly benefit the future of Combat Simulation all together. -
a skin request...
Fates replied to Dagger's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 1 Series - Mods/Skinning Discussion
How bout this one? I'd be happy to start skinning many of these request, however, the game is not yet out in my area. I'm about 5 weeks away from a new gamer machine and the purchase of SF:P1....I hope everyone can bare with me. Until then look for many skins to start becoming available....Maybe we can even talk Madjeff into hosting a picture of each new skin, and where you can get it??? (hint...hint...) -

How to direct-connect via TCP/IP
Fates replied to MadJeff's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 1 Series - General Discussion
<C> 195-Vang I was there when you said you were gonna investigate....honestly didn't think you'd find the answer so fast. Thanks for posting this info MadJeff....I'm sure there are plenty of squads that are just dying to here this and more. The question isn't "If TCP/IP will happen direct....it's "When" I just hope many squads and pilots understand that this is still in its infancy and there will be many changes in the near future and eventually a good solid game with MP will grace our computers. <C> Fates -
Su-39 dropped from flyable list, now AI only
Fates replied to Hogpen13's topic in Digital Combat Simulator Series General Discussion
Just my two cents but here it goes: The SU-39 is the successor to the SU-25...matter of fact....it's also known as the SU-25T. The SU-25 is in the game. As sad as I am to see any dev team axe an aircraft, the plane is still there...just not the avionics and weapon delivery systems of the much more advanced SU-39. This narrows the game more to a better time period. All the aircraft, whether varients or not have good conterparts now... I can just hear the wish listers muffed voices for more aircraft!!! The decision was made, and I think Wags and the team have made the right one. I wanna see this sim before Pentium hits the 4Ghz mark. Cheers Fates -
Cheers Gentlman, I'd like to say you guys got some great sites and it looks like the P1 crowd is gonna get bigger and bigger. You can add you site to the small but growing list here at BiohazCentral...just click here: http://www.biohazcentral.com/modules.php?o...dex&req=AddLink I'm currently on RW talking to the team as they fly in Gamespy lobby. Hope to see ya there soon. New news is they solved the launch bug they had previously....looks like they all launch in the same country now. Anyway...grab a bar stool and enjoy the company... < C > Fates

Flyable Aircraft Engineering 101
Fates posted a topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 1 Series - Mods/Skinning Discussion
Here's a place you can enjoy. It's just a little site that discusses the complex ins and outs about adding a new aircraft to a Flight Sim. Enjoy.... http://oldirtybastards.homestead.com/fae101.html FatesODB -
Latest Screenshots 10/24/02
Fates posted a topic in Digital Combat Simulator Series General Discussion
Posted this on LOMAC general board but thought I'd do the same here as well: I see everyone saying how awesome these screenshots are, but somewone please correct me if I'm wrong. As you have seen from the screenshots, they do have some nice effects, like Hud visibility and formation lights, but the overall pic leaves alot to be desired...I'm I the only one that see this? -
I think your goin to see a game that is pretty closed to outside intervention. I'm sure the LOMAC dev team will make available to everyone the following things to be altered: Aircraft Skins (aircraft paint schemes, to include decals) Cockpit Skins These things will allow anyone to personalize their aircraft, yet still keep everyone that plays the game on the same "NO HACKS" playing field. This is what most hardcore flight simmers prefer. The ability to change flight characteristics and weapon characteristics is precisely what the the LOMAC crowd wants to avoid. Nothing kills the enjoyment of a game quicker then renegades flying UFO's. You may see mods from experienced hackers start to develop within a few short months of the games release. These are generally very well kept secrets. Because of that, you will only eventually be ably to identifiy certain callsigns to be "hacked". But I must point out that with this as with any sim, bandwidth and internet connection play a vital role as to what a player "see" vs what's the opponent "does". We'll all have to sit back and just play the game...learn how to skin and create our own custom paint scheme....but its my opinion that we leave the FM's and such alone and play a fair fight. Cheers Fates

I'm not the computer geek I once used to be, but I bought an ENVISION 19" Flat monitor for $239 at comp usa.... Great monitor at a great price. Buddy of mine has a 17" and both have excellent quality. <C>
-
the majority of users probably still run 800x600, however more and more people are purchasing computers with 17" screens or better. I just converted most of my site to 1024x768, which has become the next standard for larger monitors. I run 1024x768 at home....on a 19" monitor. I would run this resolution on a 17" monitor, but If i still ran a 15", I would run 800x600.

If I uninstall/reinstall one more time....I'm gonna put everything down except my beer and then I'm gonna pick up a shot gun and send my old comfuser straight to HELL. Anyway....I Downloaded the software...the first time was from the FTP site and when I went to install, it installed some software from Megalux know as Ultimate FX....a graphics/photo editor.... The went thru 2 u/isntalls before I said F-it and moved on....chugged a Coors, then downloaded it from Autodesk. This version worked. I meet the (Minimum Requirements) with little room to spare. I think I answered a setup question wrong when I first ran it....picked OpenGL instead of Direct3D....now when it runs...I see the actual program screen flash then dissapear. It is now longer running. I'm still WIN 98se..I did another un/Install and same thing....but this time it didn't show a setup screen after the install... I opened up the ini file to see the OpenGL was still there.....How can I go about another setup run of this program to change my settings? Will another beer help my problems? Let's see Fates
