  9. What Do You Want More??

Zur, I agree with you 99.9%. My only exception in your statement above would be this: Realism is not the impression and experience equivalent to the real world. Realism is the perception of the impressions and experiences that the real world may bring. If I've never seen an F-15 in my life and I buy this "game" that simulates an F-15 (under the developers constraints of time and money), then my experience and impression of the game may be heightened. To me, this would be a great game full of realism. I'm not a rivet counter so a basic model and skin might look real enough to me. I'm not an avionics guru, so the ability to do certain things in the cockpit would give me a great sense of realism. I've never flown one, so the flight model seemed pretty real to me. However, My perception of realism would change the more and more I envelope myself in flight games, and aviation, and military jets, and readings of ACM's and taking airshow pictures, or growing up near an airbase. The more real my perception becomes, the greater impression a game is going to have to make on me. I'm going to start looking for differences in flight models, and I'll look for proper weapon loadouts, or I'll simply become more aware of the avionics abilities. Point being, everyones perception of reality is different. I believe that Zur's enjoyment of the game is simliar to mine. It's not about having perfect models or accurate flight models. It's about the enjoyment that we all receive playing it. We engulf ourselves in the perceived reality and we extract fun out of it. The less fun/enjoyment you extract from the game the worse the game is for you. Having the ability to scale that perception level will mean the world to each player that comes to fly. Fates

  13. There's a new version of America's Army available. AAO 2.8: Coalition. The new version includes a new map creator, mission editor, and a pair of tutorial maps, and incorporates a number of bug fixes and other improvements. There is a patch to update version 2.7 I think that everyone here who enjoys modding may love to take a look at the Map Editor. It's a very useful tool and you will soon see custom maps on AAO Servers. Cheers ~ Fates

  20. looking for a good game

The two hottest air combat sims out today are Wings Over Europe(WOE) and Falcon 4: Allied Force (F4:AF). You can read more about them in their individual forums on this site. If you r looking for a WWI sim, well....there's that too...and you should check out more in the appropriate forum. Being from Argentina, you may also be interested in the development of Jet Thunder.....also check out that forum. Cheers!~ Fates
  21. Airbus A380

The Airbus 380 market is not passengers, but freight. And now, FedEx has canceled their orders and UPS may do the same in favor of the Boeing. I think the pax market was always intended to be small compared to freight.
  22. Problems with SimHq forums again?

Yep...I got backbone...and I'll knock you off that soapbox for a few days. Don't bring it to this forum...period.
  23. Calendar?

I'll be doing calendars for the entire 2007 soon....I"ll remember your request.
  24. Welcome Everyone

Following the links here: http://www.arma-net.co.uk/ The game is very buggy at the moment, and I would suspect a patch relatively soon. They will be releasing the US version in January 2007 I think, and my guess it will be patched up already. Another downfall that I'm aware of is that GameSpy has pulled its lobby away from ArmA. There's a lot of disgruntled players over this... Fates
