You can upload your picture to the gallery. That link can be found here: UPLOAD TO IMAGE GALLERY That should solve the immediate problem. You can then link to it if you wish on this forum. Please be sure to edit the pics text to include your name. <C> Fates

Ok, Working a little on getting the gallery here all fixed up, but till then, your welcome to grab the latest calendar at http://www.TeamODB.com. This month it's the latest screenshot from S.T.A.L.K.E.R: Shadows of Chernobyl. Not your typical first person shooter as it draws some of the horror genre into it as you can expect with the Chernobyl accident. At a glance, the texturing for this game is completely awesome. I'm hoping this game turns out as well as it's colorful artwork...remarkable. You can learn more at http://www.Oblivion-Lost.com Grab Them Here

The gallery is back working again for me, so, the calendar can now be found there. Calendar Gallery Enjoy Fates

CRT-based RPTVs Advantages: Least expensive per inch (available in sizes 40" - 80") Easily repairable Excellent colour rendition, including blacks "Known quantity" for many years Disadvantages: Requires initial and periodic convergence and setup Large, "ugly" black box (typically) (takes up floor space) Susceptible to burn in, if not properly set up, operated. There are no CRT-based RPTVs that can natively display 720P. If the TV accepts 720P it gets converted to 1080i or 480P, depending on the set. LCD-based RPTVs Advantages: Light/compact for its screen size High resolution - 720P (actually typically 768/788P) (720P is considered by many to be superior to 1080i, hence the higher price for these sets) No need for convergence. Less sensitive to burn in than CRTs, but still some greyscale degradation possible if abused. Disadvantages: Periodic lamp replacement - about 2 years - ~$200-$400. More expensive than CRT-based RPTV Doesn't display blacks as well as CRTs. DLP-based RPTVs Advantages: Light/compact for its screen size High resolution - 720P (720P is considered by many to be superior to 1080i, hence the higher price for these sets) No need for convergence. No possibility of burn in Disadvantages: Periodic lamp replacement - about 2 years - ~$200-$400. More expensive than CRT-based RPTV Doesn't display blacks as well as CRTs. May have "rainbow" effect. Flat Panel LCDs Advantages: Sexy, thin, light, can hang on the wall Excellent resolution (768P typical) Disadvantages: Extremely expensive Only available in smaller sizes at this time Doesn't display blacks as well as CRTs Be careful - inexpensive flat panel displays may be 480P only. <C> Fates Source: http://www.hdtvoice.com/voice/showthread.php?t=4801

Awesome.... I never would have suspected the "Radome" to be a kevlar composite....always thought it was steel....gotta save weight somewhere. Great shots.. <C> Fates

Aircraft Cleen Weight
Fates replied to a topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 1 Series - Mods/Skinning Discussion
What aircraft, and what is the incorrect vs correct weight, and what is your source for the disparity? <C> Fates -
One of the biggest problems with modern days flight simulations have been avionics. They become so taxing on even the high end game systems and almost intolerable in multiplayer. Avionics, to the best of my understanding, our the biggest reason why WW2 sims are so much more playable online. With modern and historic sims being equal graphically, the taxing amount of avionics in modern day sims simply kill it for online play. My questions would be, "How far do you plan to take the aircrafts avionics package, including weaponry?" "Do you plan on concentrating more in one area? Navigation vs Weaponry?" "Will you stray away from hardcore Simulation, to develop a more commonality of avionics across a wider variety of aircraft platforms to make online play easier?" <C> Fates

IMHO, there needs to be a fine balance between sim and playability (Multiplayer). I like the approach that Janes USAF took with their game. They created 1 avionics package and applied it accross multiple aircraft. This accomplished 2 things. It provided for easier coding (only one avionics package to do) and therefore made Multiplayer easier and playable. The fact remains that the NAV mode was quit simplistic, and the radar seemed to work it's magic as well. I believe that the avionics can reach a degree of simulation where the player perceives it to be accurate, yet the games code is simplified. Janes USAF reached this goal and became a very successful online game. Next Gen flight sims should still add in more modes and abilities as the aircraft require and playability admits. If adding the ability for a player to bring up a moving map and datalink to a ground or airbourne station is going to kill online flying, then I'd prefer it not be in the game. Playability and believability should outweigh pure sim. And let me ask one more question.... How will avionics failures be worked in? <C> Fates

When did you first start going to the official Lomac site? Back in the begginning it was rampaged with bad posters that simply brought the forums quality down. Many of us were looking for a brighter attitude from the sites users. I found Biohaz to be that site for me. Other sites have their pros and cons, but I've always found Biohazcentral to have a membership that made the site something more that I wanted to be involved in. You can go to other sites, and you may find more users posting the same infomation, but you may also find more locked thread, mud slinging and generally tolerable behavior; things we are proud not to be part of.

Flight Dynamics question....
Fates replied to astotzer's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 1 Series - General Discussion
One of the features absent from this game is Trim. The game assumes a perfectly trimmed aircraft. You have no true means of applying pitch trim, aileron trim, or rudder trim. These are things that I miss. When the simulation assumes a "ZERO" state, then the aircraft will always reset to a zero state, regardless of where you place the yoke. When you release, all flight controls goto neutral (ZERO), because you can't command them to be elsewhere. Maybe future releases of this game engine will have trim, and maybe even other aerodynamic forces that effect the characteristics of flight, thermals, clouds, turbulence, etc... Fingers Crossed! <C> Fates -
Very good question. But the answers lies with Jeff.

This pic was created back in early December by Wang. He done an excellent job. It's unfortunate that with Biohaz's doors closing in the coming month(s?) that we would get a beautiful pic of an aircraft not sailing off into the sun....but into the dreary full moon.. Thanks to everyone that enjoyed the calendars the last couple years. I did appreciate the feedback! Cheers! Fates Edited: By Fates. Since the pic/file uploads are not working.....you can get this pic HERE

Will the Radar have "Click-pit" ability, or will it be like USAF that allowed you to simply hit "Z" then goto the RADAR screen that allowed for cursor functionality? Or Both? <C> Fates

Thrust to Weight and Sound Issues
Fates replied to Spider's topic in Digital Combat Simulator Series General Discussion
The F-15C is modeled in LOMAC. And the only difference between it and the "E" version in regards to engines were the installation of Digital Electronic Engine Computers (DEEC's). This gave the Eagle a better response time from idle to AB. 4 seconds. Other then that, the engines still produced the same 25K Lbs of Thrust. <C> Fates -

From what I remember about it, as I use a Logitech Rumble Pad, you have to edit a config file in order to get it to work. I don't recall their being any IN GAME gamepad setup. This is something that disturbs me more then anything else. Game mfg should make gamepad setup ability IN GAME for all FPS games. Keyboards are great, but a gamepad is so much better IMHO. Unfortunately, you have to be some config editing guru to get them to work. America's Army is the same way. The only disadvantage that I would see in using a game pad might be the accuracy of aiming. I think a mouse does work much better in this regards. I'll peak more into COD when I get home and see what I can dig up for you. <C> Fates
