That was the number as reported by CNN 2 days ago. I believe that France has raised this number up to 24-27 Million or so. What I hate, is the fact that many simply EXPECT the richest country to send the biggest money. This is a huge tragedy and people need to help people before turning this whole thing into some political spin to be used in the future. Remember, that these numbers are simply government contributions...and do not reflect individual donations to supporting charities. <C> Fates

I'm not an EA (eat $#%) supported at all. They are nothing more then a bully that says: "Look at me, I make the most money, carrie more games, have the biggest contracts...and still don't have to give a fu(# about those that buy my product, becuase we have the wool pulled over everyones eyes. The have weasled their way into big contracts thru EA Sports only to shut out the others from making a descent game for a descent price. Papyrus made THE BEST race simulation in the world with Nascar 2003, and EA turned and signed a big contract to be the exclusive provider for Nascar Video games. Expect this to happen with Flight Sims. They will goto EA Hell and Die! EA will sign exclusive contracts with the military and not allow others like Thirdwire to make a plane that remotely looks like a current US Fighter Jet. This is how they piss on the consumer. The take the Freedom out of free enterprise. And for you modders out there....what if EA pulls your plug for putting a copyrighted decal on your creation? EA is about money...not you. They canned the Janes series....they bottled up Nascar for themselves, and now they've bought into 20% of Ubisoft. We were to pick the top 5, but with such a short entry list, we submited all pics for a vote. This was not a EDITED SCREENS ONLY contest, and if you think that your chances of winning are diminished by ignoring that fact, well, a chance is a chance...better to have one then none at all. PGRaptor even stated that he did not have the tools to make a winning picture....but, you didn't need the tools. We could have easily picked 5 NON_Edited screens for voting.... My personal taste is "The less edit needed, the better the screenshot". This was dissapointing to the MJ and Myself personally. We work and work and work, and we wanted to give back to the community only to have the community worry more about whether they have the latest WOV download, rather then gain an ounce of happiness over having the CHANCE to win a great game. I can understand that some may not want to look into a contest about a game they already have. But, I don't mind giving a copy of a game to give to a friend or family member to help spur some interest in keeping the genre alive and kicking. As Buff stated, no everyone has it. This site was founded by LOMAC, and I don't even have it. I'm sure the contestant will be estatic to receive the copy. I'd also like to thank those that did enter. Everyone did a great job with their entry, and we hope they come back again for more prizes in the future. BUFF, So far there are no complaints less one. When I built the machine, my brother lacked a little cash to go to 1GB RAM, which was the plan. Fortunately, ASUS allowed for a single stick of DDR. As you may know, 64Bit machines really need 2 sticks installed of like nature for optimal performance. Since he's operating off only (1) 512Mb Kingston DDR 3200, his system appears to become unstable during extreme ticks of the clock.... Other then that.....it's a flawless machine. AMD64 3500 939pin Asus A8V Deluxe R2 ATI 9800 Pro AIW 512Mb Kingston DDR 3200 80Gb Westernd Digital 7200 HD Cheiftec Firered Case w/ 450w Matching wireless Keyboard/mouse Thermaltake CL-p0006 CPU Cooler All Tt controlled fans.... The first and obvious question is: How much are you willing to spend? Next question is: What can, or do you plan on re-using on your exiting computer if you build a new one or buy one? (ie. Monitor, HD, Keyboard, Speakers, Mouse, CDRW?) If all you want to do is build a killer GAMING Machine and then re-use many of your peripherals, then expect to spend at least $1200-1500 If you want to buy from some outlet place, then expect to pay $1400-2200 for a like machine. There are only 2 major purchase that will account for 75% of the cost. A CPU, and a Video Card. The video card should be around 1/3 of the total cost for the higher end cards. The CPU may just be under that, or over even more if you NEED to have the latest CPU out. These can run $600+ just for the CPU. The problem with building your own is doing some homework on CPU/MOBO compatibility, and then auxillary features of the mobo.... Does it support SATA? Do you need it to? Does it support Firewire? Do you need it to? Does it support AGP or PCI Express? Which is better and do you really need one over the other? Don't mean to confues ya...but there are some great ppl here to help you make solid choices for a solid machine. <C> Fates ================================================ Point is, buiding is easy and overall much cheaper then buying pre-built machines. However, knowing what to build, and doing it to the best of your wallets ability is where PC Builders spend hours doin nothing but researching components...ask BUFF, I believe he does this 24/7...hehe

CopyrightPhiilyODB and I have been doing a little work on bringing you a new AAO Utility to assist clans in administrating their Server. It will also allow you to create a FAVORITES list of servers that you frequent. There is a full internet browser. And also commands to Launch as a Player or Admin. As more and more servers are running Ban lists, there is a great utility to allow a website admin to upload all the files into their site (via FTP or Cpanel) and then it will allow their Clans server admins to download these files as necessary when they change. Hopefully this will help clans control their server files easier. I've heard about this not too long ago.... but, honestly, They've got one hell of a problem with Multiplayer. MP keeps these games on peoples hard drives long after they've mastered the SP aspect..... MP also is a huge determination on which game owners will come back and buy an add-on <C> Fates

Tried to play some P40 missions into PearlHarbor.... The Bouncing on take off is a stupid joke. Not sure they've ever flown a taildragger much less a P40. I've got time in similar aircraft, and the Pfactor that's produced by these powerful single engine aircraft is very well modeled, but the bouncing has gotta go. You simply can't drive a 8k#+ aircraft down the grass strip. WTH? There are things called STRUTS that absorb shock....when filled with air, then they act like this sim, but when the proper mix of fluid and air are introduced, then they act much more realistically. Unfortunately, BIA will not be on my BUY list either. I'm so swamped with FPS Combat sims, that one more might make me explode. I'd be happy to review the game if I can get a preview copy. Usually preiews do not include multiplay modes however. I was really enthusiastic about doing a review of DoomIII, but when I got to MP, and learned how bad it was, I put the game on the shelf....haven't played it since. There are 2 types of gamers. Those that play for the SP, and those that play for the MP. DoomIII is geared more towards SP....so is FarCry, but at least FarCry's Mulitplayer isn't bad at all IMHO. I've played Call Of Duty in multiplayer, and I wasn't to dissappointed. BIA should be much like COD. Will it be as smooth as COD? Who's to say. I prefer Americas Army over all of them at the moment. Pure MP, great simulation, excellent servers. But, now I've just purchased Half-Life 2. A game that expands on one of the better MP games of it's era. I'm gonna get most of the way thru SP, and then dabble in some MP once my account goes thru. If the physics and animations are anything like they are in SP, I may be a LOOOOONNNNGGG time before I see my next honor level in AAO. <C> Fates
