  1. AFAIK laser guided cluster bombs do not exist at all. There is however the Wind Corrected Munitions Dispenser system, which turns cluster bombs into precision weapons. Try the CBU-103/104/105 bombs from the Weaponspack...but these are not available until 2002.
  2. FYI: Russia produces more petroleum than Iran.
  3. I think should wait until such a deal is finalized. If it ever happens. Nothing wrong about fictional skins, though. 250 Su-30? Who ever wrote this has probably no idea how much these things and their infrastructure cost.
  4. I think the 0,0 position should be the center of the model. Btw. from TK's Decal Tutorial: Position= This controls the position of the decal on the airplane. The coordinate is given relative to the whole airplane, not to the individual mesh. The coordinates are measured in meters. For DecalFacing=LEFT or RIGHT, the coordinate x,y refers to coordinate as you’re looking from the right side of the aircraft. +x toward the nose -x toward the tail +y up -y down For DecalFacing=TOP or BOTTOM the coordinate x,y refers to coordinate as you’re looking down from the top of the aircraft. +x toward the right wing -x toward the left wing +y toward the nose -y toward the tail The coordinate must lie on top of the mesh specified or the decal will not show up in the game, so you must enter coordinates that the mesh actually covers. If you are trying to add nose art to one of the default aircraft, and it isn’t showing up, you may want to check your coordinates and make sure they are in the bounds of the nose mesh. (Granted, this might be difficult without having the model in front of you in 3d studio max - but you should be able to get close by looking at the default decal settings and finding coordinates that are on the nose mesh, and tweak it from there.)
  5. I have seen that, too. I had engaged a flight of Su-7 with missiles, shot down one and noticed that the others dumped their bombs and turned towards me, which wasn't much of a smart move, but at least they had reacted to my presence. Could it be that planes that have gone past their objective waypoint and are now going home become unaware of their surroundings? Because whenever I gave my wingmen the order to head home they no longer react to further instructions. That might explain why the Hornets I mentioned in my previous post did not react to the rather obivious enemy presence, as they were on their way home.
  6. A bunch of Hornets returning from a bombing run is shadowed by a Flagon. Fortunately for the Hornets the Flagon doesn't have some guns and had already expended its IRMs. So all it could do was circling around the Hornets (and it that for several minutes), which pretty much ignored the Flagon....although each of them had two Slammers, two Sidewinders and a M61. Stuff like that makes me pretty much deaf for any kind of praise for SFP's AI.
  7. I'm not sure if that has been addressed before, but I think that the cockpit view of the F-14 is plain wrong. Just compare these pictures: F-14 cockpit view (12 o'clock): This persepctive makes me think that the Tomcat must be sliding on its nose accross the runway, as if somebody had forgotten to extend the nose wheels... F-14 cockpit view (7-8 o'clock): From this perspective you get the impression that wing is mounted almost above the pilot's position F-14 side view: But the side view proves that this is not the case. So, how can that be fixed. I think this requires editing of the F-14_Cockpit file, but I do have no idea which values need to changed.
  8. Nevertheless this does not change the fact that the BRU-57 rack is not used when you select your loadout manually.
  9. Awesome. It does have Slammers with naqahdah warheads, right?
  10. Hmmm, I wonder if that pilot is somehow related to the late Maj. T. J. 'Kong' Kong....
  11. There are 2BR racks in the Weaponspack that carry their bombs side by side. Search for "BRU_57" This is the result of a little 'experiment' I conducted recently, testing the flexibility of the loadout.ini file. However, I have not figured out how to make them show up, unless you count in some loadout.ini abuse...
  12. Me thinks you need a heavy dose of Clint Eastwood.
  13. Take a look at this post. The weaponspack uses different designations for certain weapons, which makes the stock loadouts of some planes useless.
  14. Hmm, just checked the WOV's ObjectData.CAT and found the C-130, the F-104, the Su-7, Il-28 and the Tu-22, but no An-12. Odd.
  15. I have modded the loadout, too, but went a different route, as it is a more restricted one: Loadout[01].WeaponType=AGM-88C (AGM-84s or 65s could also be mounted here) Loadout[01].Quantity=1 Loadout[02].WeaponType=AGM-88C (see above) Loadout[02].Quantity=1 Loadout[03].WeaponType=AIM-120C Loadout[03].Quantity=1 Loadout[04].WeaponType=AIM-120C Loadout[04].Quantity=1 Loadout[05].WeaponType=GBU-38/GBU-12/Mk82 (larger bombs don't fit into the main bomb bay) Loadout[05].Quantity=8 Based on the information I have been able to find on the web, this loadout should be quite close to the planned loadout of the actual plane. The size of the weapons bay also support this...of course you could load some GBU-24s into the main bomb bay, but that looks just wrong, seriously. The AIM-120 may seem to be an odd choice, too, but given the way how the AA missiles are mounted, the Sidewinder seems impractical to use. At least I was unable to get a lock with the Sidewinder... Now, if I knew how to teach the A.I. pilots not to drop all GBU-38s at one target, it would be a perfect loadout.
  16. It's interesting to see where the threads about the Tomcat lead to. I think there is no other fighter jet in the world that is capable to spark such discussions... To be honest, I wouldn't give much about the Iranian Tomcats anyway, there are probably only a handful, if any airworthy left. It seems to me that one reason why the Tomcat was retired was simply that they had become difficult to maintain, which is not that unusual for a complex design of that age.
  17. Yeah, look at the second post in this thread. Hint: It's the second file. Anyway, after some testing and tweaking and figuring out how the other weaponbays are opened...well, I really like it. If only that stealth thing would work...
  18. Only if you include the conversions. (I had to satisfy my curiousity, so searched the web a bit and came up with this:) From M.A.T.S. "All in all some 712 F-14s were built by Grumman: 632 F-14 for the Navy & 79 for Iran (80 ordered, one built but not delivered)). In detail it was 557 F-14As, 38 F-14Bs & 37 F-14Ds. Additionally, 48 F-14As were converted to F-14B standard and 18 F-14As were remanufactured to F-14D standard." So I guess, without a new cockpit you could sell a GE engined F-14 as a B-model, and with a new cockpit as a F-14D. And in the meantime I will continue to dominate the skies over Vietnam in my trusty A-model.
  19. Nope, VF-154 had the A-model. After all, there were no more than 40 F-14D built when the production was stopped. Did the F-14B (or A+) also have the new cockpit of the D-model?
  20. Looks interesting. I had no idea that the engine could model tilt-rotor. Btw, nice Hammerhead.
  21. I quite sure that the file is there. Perhaps you should take a look at the VietnamSEA.ini file.
  22. I think you should take a look inside the [Terrainname].CAT Use the SFP1E Extract (found in the D/L section under utilities)
