Best of both worlds for me! Love Windows 7...but had to keep XP as a couple of work programs don't work with W7 (even in compatibility mode) So, set up a dual boot on seperate Hard Drives....really impressed..and now off to compare W7 and XP in BHaH

No problem here!...they go down in flames, the same as any other! -
Very early days of course, but someone had to start it!! Ok... Easy Ordering, very straightforward...409MB Download..nice fast servers!...Brilliant...had it all done and dusted in less than 20 minutes! New Pilot screens...very nice... First major plus (and for me as a hobbyist skinner...worth the $20 on its own..) fantastic to see the fact you can have your own skin, without those wingies having it too!...adds hugely to the feeling of individuality!!...Now the enemy KNOW who the Widowmaker is!!! So...let's have a look at some of the new Aircraft.... DH5 in QC freeflight (hey, I wanna try these kites out without getting shot to sh*t first guys!)...have to be honest..it was never high on my list of favourites, but I sat in the Cockpit..and straight away, I saw what the designers at De Havilland were thinking!...The forward and side visibility is superb!...turned my head slightly on takeoff..and noticed the strut! yep, I know what youre thinking... "So..it's a Strut"...Yes, it is...but a beautifully skinned strut!...the veneer and texture and detail is amazing!...who the hell would spend so much time skinning a damn Wingstrut?..oh yeah, hang on...this is OBD yeah?..Ok..silly question!...bloody amazing! The Scenery detail has been reworked excellently...the trees have quite obviously been re-touched...and I am sure I shall spot more as I fly!...but this is like a donut!...you are hungry for more at the first bite...but you need to take a bit of time, and enjoy the sensation! So...back to the planes!...Time to give the N28 a look. The N28 is the opposite of the DH5 in terms of visability!...quite restrictive..though a more comfortable ride for the pilots of the time no doubt, with that windshield!...I will let the Yanks brief us about that one at length!...they have been very patient!! Now...last but not least of my early Foray!...Olham's favourite (whom he assures me, will cause a problem for me in my Camel..or indeed my Snipe (cheap plug there for Expansion pack 2 pleeaaassseee!)...The flying Razor! Hmmm...What can I say?...It may only have one wing...but that one wing...is as thick as the Kaiser himself!!....but it is FAST!...and the Yaw on it is frightening!!!.... I am sure it will be a very unpleasant opponent...and a lethal friend, if you fly for the German Air Service! I haven't noticed any change in the 'sudden death' animation however...and cannot see any reference to it in Workshop?..Has it been dropped I wonder?...Or am I missing something?...I also need to delve a bit deeper into the wind noise too..as it must be turned down in my setup. Like I say...still very early days, but I am thrilled by what I have seen so far, and I am sure others will have their own views / Observations..which I await with interest!...but a great addon, in the usual way, we have come to enjoy from the guys of BHaH and OBD Lot's to see and try...let's go fly! :drinks:

Post a Pic of your best dead or captured pilot
UK_Widowmaker replied to appraiserfl's topic in WOFF UE/PE - General Discussion
My best pilot is one sitting in my gunsight! I dont care how long I live...as long as it's longer than that bastard!!! -
Are you sure this isn't a video driver issue?...if you are using the default ones that ship with XP...you should update them, because they will be ancient.

Noob Jet Jockey...bit of advice please?
UK_Widowmaker posted a topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 1 Series - General Discussion
Hi Guys, Moving forward in time slightly (From OFF BHaH) to have a re-look at the Thirdwire Sims (strike / WOV and WOI) which I have owned for some time, and wanted to get a bit of feedback from you knowledgeable sorts please? Ok..If you had just formatted your PC, and you were now reinstalling these Sims....which addons /Files would be in your 'must have' list? Yep, you've guessed it!..... I just wanted to know what your favourite addons were, so i can get them too! (of particular interest to me, is some decent scenery) Thanks all -
Guns Reloaded. New, Fluke, or Always Been There?
UK_Widowmaker replied to RAF_Louvert's topic in WOFF UE/PE - General Discussion
I dont think it is a fluke..because it has happened to me also...but that was in P2 (I posted about it at the time..and everyone thought I was nuts) -
aircraft labels, who uses em?
UK_Widowmaker replied to tone12's topic in WOFF UE/PE - General Discussion
I have a joystick button mapped...but only use it when I absolutely have to -
Hi Guys, I am offering a special offer personal skin for anyone on this forum. I cannot change aircraft details / colours etc as I am sure you are aware, this takes too long. However, what I will do for anyone who needs it, is put a logo of your choice on the fuselage, and your initials on the top wing...which will give you at least some individuality when flying against your enemies. You can look through the vast array of over 4,000 skins (using methods already well documented here and in the OFF Skinners section)...pick one you like, and email it to me with your initials, and a logo of your choice...and I will put them on, and email the skin back to you. I hope this offer will be helpful to some people who do not have the time/knowledge/software to make their own. All I ask, is that you don't take the p*ss Send your request / logo / initials to: cooliodude320@hotmail.com this is an email i have set up just for this...so sod off spammers!!

My pleasure (done three already) -
Wow!...The wind effect is great!...it sure sorts out the men from the boys..and I will use it all the time now in Campaign. But....For the purposes of screenshots etc..is it possible to turn it off? (again..sorry if this has already been asked)

HITR First Impressions
UK_Widowmaker replied to UK_Widowmaker's topic in WOFF UE/PE - General Discussion
Ho Cowman Yes, I'm with you on the aircraft...not much of interest to me personally...but it's other bits of the addon that are really good..and move the sim up a notch. The personal skin bit, wind factors...new improved sounds and tweaked scenery make it worth the money
