UK_Widowmaker replied to Olham's topic in WOFF UE/PE - General Discussion
That's fab Jim..yes, I came to Collies by accident really..now I have two companion ones, and a worker...not a day goes past where they don't teach me valuable life lessons...so much so, I could never imagine life without at least one :) -
OT: Heartwarming Rescue(s)

Having had the pleasure of Both Olham... Cats are definately smarter in many respects..but they're solitary hunters...protection and teamwork are of little interest to them in my experience..wheras the Dog depends on his fellows much more i feel. That said..there's no denying the Cat's actions in the video..so, who knows -
OT: Heartwarming Rescue(s)

Well, as we're on the subject of Rescues...let me introduce 'Sammy'. He's a Border Collie (obviously) and has lived rough in County Mayo, Ireland since being abandoned as a Puppy. He's survived as a hunter/scavenger for two years..constantly escaping the best efforts of the rescue organisation, to capture him...eventually succumbing to a trapdoor cage baited with Steak. He was in a bad way when captured..about 7KG underweight, with Mange and various other health issues... but the Irish Rescue got him sorted out..and he eventually found his way to England on a Boat..and we now have him, as Collie number 3 in our house. He's a lovely lad...full of charecter..and is nicknamed 'The Grass Pirate' due to his thievery! -

The TF mod is indeed incredible...looking forward to the release of the next instalment...should be great to fly a Wellington :) clearly Historically accurate..apart from the date on Olham's post, being the summer of 1949! :) -

Yes Hauksbee...though, I think i kinda got the wrong impression about it from RB3d days..when i could kill anything that flew with a Snipe,,,it's a rather steeper learning curve in the WOFF version..but I do like it.

I'm surprised that Battle for Stalingrad is doing so well... Hopefully, the likes of Teamfusion will really make something of it..but, the Russian Campaigns don't excite me, because of the..yes...snow :) -
I was gutted when the forum moved. I'd had many bad experiences from fanbois on simhq in the IL2 days....The place was badly moderated. I'm sure it's better nowadays, but it's a moot point with me Nice to see some familiar names..and avatars here. Maybe we can re-emerge :) The other problem I have..is that WOFF runs pants on my system... it's so jerky..tried loads of things...but it's not an enjoyable experience

Hi Guys, I'm still around....I don't play WOFF much these days, as i'm into FSX and P3d..having started working on a simpit.... I absolutely detest the forum on simhq....so, when CA's OFF forum went pear shaped, it put me off totally. Was without doubt, the worst thing to happen to WOFF in my opinion. As the forum here does indeed appear to be having a slight resurgence..I may come back to the game. cheers guys :)

To avoid confusion - should this WOFF forum be closed?
UK_Widowmaker replied to Hellshade's topic in WOFF UE/PE - General Discussion
from my point of view, moving to simhq was the kiss of death for me..I've lost my interest in the forum :( -

Once again, performing aerobatics in a 50 year old + aircraft. I have a feeling, he'll be the last -
At the height of the Cuban Missile Crisis, second-in-command Vasili Arkhipov of the Soviet submarine B-59 refused to agree with his Captain's order to launch nuclear torpedos against US warships and setting off what might well have been a terminal superpower nuclear war. The US had been dropping depth charges near the submarine in an attempt to force it to surface, unaware it was carrying nuclear arms. The Soviet officers, who had lost radio contact with Moscow, concluded that World War 3 had begun, and 2 of the officers agreed to 'blast the warships out of the water'. Arkhipov refused to agree - unanimous consent of 3 officers was required - and thanks to him, we are here to talk about it. His story is finally being told - the BBC is airing a documentary on it. Raise a glass to Vasili Arkhipov - the Man Who Saved the World.

Here's a little fact I learned from a Greek person yesterday..that isn't in the public domain Did you know, that the Greek 'bailout' has a clause?...that clause is: If Greece fails to pay off the debt..the EU (namely Germany) will take ownership of several Greek Islands??? (whether they'll use the fallschirmjäger on this occasion, is open to question)

I had it on for a few days..it's 'ok' at best. Then the problems started!..several aircraft (Justflight mainly) in FSX didn't show up...Outlook stopped sending emails...and I thought, "Sod this..I'm back to Windows 7"
