  1. Too windy for Fishing!..PAH!

  2. Yesterday, 10th July 1940 was the anniversary of the start of the Battle of Britain Just wanted to raise a glass to 'Dowding's Chicks' who fought so bravely defending us all from Nazi Tyranny! God bless you all
  3. I knew you would be Lou....Right up your street!!
  4. Anyone who shoots down Huns gets my respect! (especially as I have noticed no Germans saying anything?)
  5. Are you not all pleased I started this thread now?
  6. With the demise of Moat..I find my attention turning to the two smeg-heads accused of Conspiracy to Murder. Y'know...those brave friends, who supplied the weapons, the food, the Beer....who egged Moat on...who where there when Moat shot the Police Officer....but were too cowardly to pull the trigger themselves..but were perfectly at ease with themselves, watching the events spirral out of control. Conspiracy to Murder, is worse than Murder itself in my book!...It shows up a cowardly scumbag in the light of day.... We all know people like them dont we?...the underminers, who sit in the shadows, like Grima Wormtongue from Lord of the Rings...pushing, goading, slimeing around! I really hope they get what's coming to them
  7. We all know of course, about the 'two fingered salute' courtesy of Agincourt..... But did you know that Quarrel (as in to argue) comes from Crossbow use? And here's a few more I dredged up from the Net Medieval people sometimes managed to get hold of pork, which made them feel quite special. When visitors came over, they would hang up their bacon to show off. It was a sign of wealth that a man "could bring home the bacon. They would cut off a little to share with guests and would all sit around and "chew the fat." Those with money had plates made of pewter. Food with high acid content caused some of the lead to leach onto the food, causing lead poisoning and death. This happened most often with tomatoes, so for the next 400 years or so, tomatoes were considered poisonous. Bread was divided according to status. Workers got the burnt bottom of the loaf, the family got the middle, and guests got the top, or "upper crust."
  8. The meaning of 'wearing your heart on your sleeve' is to display your emotions openly. You might remember this one from Shakespeare’s masterpiece Othello. This rather strange phrase is said to derive from a middle-aged custom of knights wearing the colours of the lady they were supporting during jousting matches. They would wear a cloth or ribbon in the colour of their fair maiden around their arms before galloping towards impending pain or victory.
  9. I'm sure your Dad would be proud of that picture.
  10. The old saying "If you don't wanna get Burned..don't play with Fire" springs to mind. Most people have learned that by the age of 10.....
  11. Horrah for Dutch Cafes
  12. anyone remember 'Epic?' Loved it!
  13. There's an old Pub in Marble Arch, London....which used to have gallows adjacent. Prisoners were taken to the gallows (after a fair trial of course) to be hung. The horse drawn dray, carting the prisoner was accompanied by an armed guard, Who would stop the dray outside the pub and ask the prisoner if he would like ''ONE LAST DRINK''. If he said YES it was referred to as “ONE FOR THE ROAD” If he declined, that prisoner was “ON THE WAGON” More bleeding history... They used to use urine to tan animal skins, so families used to all pee in a pot & then once a day it was taken & sold to the tannery. If you had to do this to survive you were "Piss Poor". But worse than that were the really poor folk who couldn’t even afford to buy a pot they "Didn’t have a pot to Piss in" & were the lowest of the low. Who says "History is Boring?"
  14. The doughnut cutter was patented by John F. Blondel of Thomaston, Me What would US Police Officers have done without him!?
  15. I feel sorry for him too... No-one should be that stoopid
  16. Nice mix eh? Anti-Mullet but pro-Muppet!....yup, sounds like Iran to me!
  17. Just a personal view, but it would be pretty much the same as any Jet Sim.....There's a limit to what you can do with it. An F-16 cockpit is just that... the missile targeting systems, are all missile Targeting systems...and a Carrier is a Carrier. Therefore, like you say...we need something along the Lines of Strike Commander...with a Plot. I lost interest in Jet Sims after Strike Commander...they were all just the same to me
  18. No Olham..I meant either Germany or Brazil in various Finals!...lol
  19. http://www.dailymail.co.uk/tvshowbiz/article-1292844/Lindsay-Lohans-astonishing-F-word-insult-judge-sentenced-90-days-jail.html Prison Lags in the UK have a saying 'Do your Bird' It means you've been caught out, and you need to take your imprisonment on the Chin. This spoilt little brat obviously needs to learn, that just because she has Blond hair, and mediocre talent...that doesn't mean she is above the law! Congratulations to the Judge. Perhaps this wannabe will learn a lesson, that she cannot drive a car, pissed as a newt, crash it...and blame her work schedule for not completing her previous repremands! Youngsters these days, seem to think they are above the law...and if her stupid Mother, had given her a few slaps around the chops earlier in her life...she may have avoided making her child look utterly stupid in court, with her childish Blubbing!
  20. Sorry Olham..I probably came across as sounding flippant! Yes, the German team are very young still...and I think will be utterly formidable next time around. It's nice to see two teams such as Spain and Holland in the final, instead of the Brazil/Germany we often get though
  21. Thats kinda taken the wind out of Olham's Sails I bet. Well done Spain, a great victory indeed! Holland - Spain Should be a good final
  22. Apart from guns, I think you can own pretty much any medieval style weapons, provided they stay in your house. I have a medieval arsenal in mine!...I have a broadsword, two bows, two Katana's, a Rapier and a rather 'unpleasant' SS Dagger. As there is now a £10,000 bounty, I may pop up into Northumberland, and do my 'Robin Hood' impersonation! I like the idea of 'Stealing from the Rich'.....it's just the 'Giving to the Poor' bit I need to work on!!
  23. http://www.metro.co.uk/news/834139-man-blows-off-arm-at-independence-day-party prat
  24. He's still at the Fun stage...but this might change soon, as he get's older. Great info guys...many thanks
  25. This lady has some 'serious issues'
