A 19" LCD is more like the screen area of a 21" CRT so it's a lot more screen area. They aren't so good at running non-native resolutions though so if you like running @ 1600x1200 etc. or more choose wisely.

What should I get?
BUFF replied to agrippa's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 1 Series - General Discussion
If you already have WOV installed when you go to install WOE you get asked if you want to merge them (if you have a lot of mods installed it would be wise to back up first). Assuming that they all use the same publishers It wouldn't surprise me if the same proves true with the planned series of WWI games so that you would have 1 big install with the different theatres/timeframes/aircraft available.. -

TK very kindly updates all his games to the same level so that SFG & WOE at the same patch level are using the same game engine with the same features etc. So, what you are getting with WOE is a different stock plane set, a different stock terrain & different stock missions/campaigns. It's fair to say that a lot of similar replacements are available as community mods e.g Armourdave's Hunter instead of the Third Wire Hunter etc. If you also had WOV you can merge WOV & WOE into 1 install. & of course if you would like TK to stay in business, further develop the game engine & bring out more sims then support him with your $s -
an you be more specific as to the issue? There's already an ini edit to change the drag value of the undercarriage on some aircraft if that's what you mean?

Happy New Year everybody - but please keep the noise down, ow ow ow!

You don't really install the templates but open them in am image editing programme as a basis for creating new skins (saves everybody duplicating a lot of effort). Perhaps a quick browse at somewhere like http://www.simmerspaintshop.com/forums/for...ing-repainting/ might help you.

I don't think that TK is aiming for the same thing that some of you are. Flightsimming is a niche market (something like 0.6% of PC games) & authentic, full real is a niche within that. My take is that TK is aiming for a fun game (without being totally arcade), perhaps something that will act as a starter game for a new generation of flightsimmmers & he's being kind enough/shrewd enough to leave the door open for those who want & have the ability to tweak the engine to do more of what it's capable. Iif you look around the forums you will find people with knowledge in their areas who will tell you that the routines built into the engine for FM, damage modelling etc. as are as good as anything out there - they just need to be taken advantage of. If you haven't read that recent article in the Austin statesman it's worth a read http://www.statesman.com/search/content/bu...5thirdwire.html . Similarly I don't believe that improving the MP code is high on his list of priorities as he doesn't believe that full-featured MP is an important need for his core target market (again MP is a niche imo perhaps 5-10%? of flightsimmers). Shockwave obviously agree as they deleted the MP section of BoB II rather than improve it - I guess that the expected returns weren't worth the investment. For those of you that are new to this series of games you also have to have faith that TK will support & patch it. Historically TK's service packs aren't just bug fixes either but add additional features/functionality.

any use? http://www.simhq.com/_air/air_061a.html http://www.simhq.com/_air/air_055a.html These are a bit dated now in terms of the screenshots as TK has improved the radar symbology etc. over the years. In case you don't know the author (Andy Bush) is a former F-104, F-4 & A-10 pilot with Vietnam experience.
