Not to mention that they are relaunching a heavily modified version of Rowan's Battle of Britain too! :)

So does that mean that you need a new monitor, keyboard, mouse - the works? Are there any specific games that you want to play & any must have features?

Skyraider mod
BUFF replied to Mickyd's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 1 Series - General Discussion
It should do (I know for a fact that other people have got it into WoV). However, as I said it needs some updating by its creator Monty CZ for Sp3 compatability so there could well be some glitches (I know that the Sp3 game engine for prop a/c changed & there were also changes to the undercarriage behaviour). -

Yes, the A-H was 1 of the first 3rd party addons. It is pretty old now & needs updated for Sp3. Just uploading a version here at Biohaz :) -

Well, I'm sorry that SF left you so bitter the 1st time - did you by any chance have the original Walmart release (in reality a press beta) courtesy of Strategy First? If so SF P1 has moved on quite a bit from there WoV is a Vietnam based sim using the SF P1 engine. You could think of it as an SF P1 expansion (different terrain, missions, campaigns & a slightly different plane set) except that it runs as standalone. 1. Currently WoV has only 1 map - Vietnam. By past experience though the community will add others. 2. What's your definition of correctly? I ask this afaik SF has never had what I would call "static" radars . Of course in this era radars weren't the complicated geewhizzes of today & SF P1/WoV weren't made to be accurate system simulators a la Falcon 4 - if you want to take 15 minutes in the cockpit to reach the end of the runway this isn't for you. You also have the option of easy, normal & hard radar. 3. Well as it uses the SF engine you can imagine that they are comparable. However, the SF engine has improved since you will have seeen it & the Vietnam terrain is definitely better than the original desert SF one. 4.Well, you can land & take-off from them but certainly if you are expecting them to takeover from F/A-18 in carrier ops not in their current incarnation. 5. 6. 7. no 8. No. 1st one bringing WoV code up to the latest SF P1 engine code is out already. TK will continue to improve things but you aren't going to get 1 a month. 9. can't help you there. 10. I've never really had CTD problems with SF P1 - I do have a strong suspicion that you might have had the original Walmart beta release. WoV is fun & it is still open for community modding so expect to be able to add terrains, aircraft, etc. . Hope that helped. -
Try running it in Win98 compatability mode.

& to all those that didn't come back <S> For the Fallen by Laurence Binyon With proud thanksgiving, a mother for her children, England mourns for her dead across the sea. Flesh of her flesh they were, spirit of her spirit, Fallen in the cause of the free. Solemn the drums thrill: Death august and royal Sings sorrow up into immortal spheres. There is a music in the midst of desolation And a glory that shines upon our tears. They went with songs to the battle, they were young, Straight of limb, true of eye, steady and aglow. They were staunch to the end against odds uncountered: They fell with their faces to the foe. They shall grow not old, as we that are left grow old: Age shall not weary them, nor the years contemn. At the going down of the sun and in the morning We will remember them. They mingle not with their laughing comrades again; They sit no more at familiar tables at home; They have no lot in our labour of the day-time; They sleep beyond England's foam. But where our desires are and our hopes profound, Felt as a well-spring that is hidden from sight, To the innermost heart of their own land they are known As the stars are known to the Night; As the stars that shall be bright when we are dust, Moving in marches upon the heavenly plain; As the stars are starry in the time of our darkness, To the end, to the end they remain.
