My sliders are 54455 with FPS between 30 and 60 (capped with vsync on). My default "maximum pre-rendered frames" is set at 3 and I haven't messed with it. Is there a recommended setting ? I presume the lower the setting the less likelihood of stutters but at the cost of visual quality ? Or is it the other way around lol ?

The strain of relentless sorties takes its toll. The scout's let off some steam.

Thanks Viper. So we'd start out with 2 flyable aircraft in campaign on either side ? Would the major aircraft of the late war period on both sides also be available to fight against as AI ?
-
So can anyone tell me exactly what they have planned for SP ? You're right Godzilla, the whole internet connect thing for SP may well be a non-issue if the SP content is crap.

... so do I .... when I can stop laughing

Kitchen cabinets ! Absolutely useless and a bally waste of time old boy ! Now what about the DH2 Parasol ? Now that's something of great import !

Lol Lou ! Same here. Hear the scream .... job done ... move on ..... who cares about shooting wings off .... but I'm intrigued by Siggi's theory and I reckon he's nailed it. Should put FB's concerns at rest I hope.

Fine tuning of the FM's must be the most frustrating thing in the world. Fix one bit and another bit goes all funny like. Must drive the devs crazy ! The Se5a Viper has gone from nose heavy to tail heavy somewhere in one of the many recent patches. Perhaps this is why it and the B. Scout and others do this helicopter thing ? I only had a chance to really give 1.28a a good test this weekend and found it quite disturbing. I remember a long debate back in the P2 days where the Se5a was first given the nose heavy FM and the experts agreed that indeed it was realistic ! Now it's tail heavy. What gives ?

As THE Premiere WWI sim, we can afford a chuckle here and there.

Shredders is onto it ! I'm always amazed at what the Royal Engineers were able to achieve. Amazing stuff ! -
If you're an Se5a man then you're okay in my book godzilla Nothing makes me happier than to see Albies in a funk against the superior and gloriously magnificent and majestic SE .... ahem. Shame about your stall due to target fixation. You'll learn. Just to add to Rick's comments, you can hit the F5 key to bring up an ammo counter amongst other things. Use your ammo wisely. You get a full load at the beginning of a mission and that's it ..... cannot reload.

Get back to work Widowmaker and stop whingeing . I on the other hand am joyous to have youtube, after hours/days of painstaking video work and selecting appropriate "mood" music, cancel all the music on a clip because of copyright of one piece (or part thereof) thus rendering the whole work useless. It may take them months or years but they will find the offending pieces. Good work youtube. You get my vote.

Oh my ! I feel inadequate Welcome back seeker.

Very cool Lou ! Love the idea of a DH2 Parasol ! I hope you get to finish it one day.

Tell us more AP. I have a logitech stick and I'm quite concerned that, with trackir on, when I push the stick forward the nose drops, when I pull the stick back the nose rises, when I pull the stick to the left I roll to the left, when I pull the stick to the right I roll to the right. What am I doing wrong ? Worst of all, when I push the throttle inwards the bleedin' revs increase. It's driving me mad. Should I get another stick that won't have all these issues ? Please help.

My first SUCCESSFUL scramble mission!
catch replied to Winston DoRight's topic in WOFF UE/PE - General Discussion
I love 'em. As soon as you hit the airfield get that engine on and move it ! Don't wait for your wingmen or the engine to warm up or postulate the futility of war. Just get on with it ! I've always been able to, at the very least, get my crate into the air (albeit if not by much at times lol) before the tracer starts flying. And once in the air, if you're smart and not hugely outnumbered, the chances of survival are very good. I agree if you're targeted on the ground you're deadmeat baby. So avoid it. -
Good for you Rickity. Be a kid again ! Trackir will blow you away once you get used to it

THE RED BARONS GREATEST FEAR!

Now there's an idea -
And some people (probably most actually) using a Logitech stick like myself have had no problem whatsoever with trackir or anything else for that matter

The Morane Saulnier L Parasol .....

WooHoo ! That would be most appreciated hertzie ! I'm rather fond of the old girl. And thanks for sharing WF2 you young whippersnapper you ! -
Damn right Siggi ! I think a lot of interested parties are turning onto this fact now. I'm biased of course as the WW1 air war is my favourite period but this has to be up there with the best serious non-arcade flight sims ever made if not the best ! I just hope sales eventually catch up and give the boys the reward they so richly deserve.

Normal with "hard" guns vs. Hardcore with "normal guns?

Normal with "hard" guns vs. Hardcore with "normal guns?
catch replied to redwolf's topic in WOFF UE/PE - General Discussion
Gentlemen, can anyone confirm that to have hardcore DM operational in P3 you simply install the hardcore patch and to go back to normal DM you install the normal DM patch ? And no matter how many times you make the switch the last DM install will over-ride the previous ? There is no switching on and off DM elsewhere ? Sorry I'm a little confused. Must have blown away more than the usual amount of brain cells this month -
Crash Dive when coming out of Warp
catch replied to UK_Widowmaker's topic in WOFF UE/PE - General Discussion
Yeah I can verify something weird is going on with warp on occasion since 1.28a or the DM patches. I had a couple of experiences like you TvO where I ended up in the middle of nowhere in the opposite direction of the waypoint. One instance I just let it run and the counter measured 360 miles I think and I got the message I had reached the end of the map and had to turn back ! And the terrain was very cfs3ish ... not a pleasant sight. It may have been the Russian steppes ? In both instances I hit the esc key as warp would not get back on track and head back home so I was captured and imprisoned in a gulag camp from which escape was impossible. Doesn't happen every time but is something I've never experienced prior to 1.28a or the DM patches. I never use auto trim (if this is at all related to the exit warp issue) but always use manual mixture. -
Normal with "hard" guns vs. Hardcore with "normal guns?
catch replied to redwolf's topic in WOFF UE/PE - General Discussion
Thanks for the clarity Pol. I tried it out on the weekend and loaded the hardcore DM installer followed immediately by the normal DM and was expecting to see how to change from one to the other in workshop. No not there. So I thought well maybe when you go to a campaign mission there will be an option there. No again. So to confirm, if the normal DM was loaded last that's what I'd be on now ? If I reload the hardcore DM that's what I'd be on ? Is there anywhere you can look to see which version is active ?
