Thanks for the update Pol. I guess I missed that communique. I had completely forgotten the EV (which is in-game) was renamed D8 after the "accidents" were considered bad press by Tony Fokker, not to mention, profits. Or scooting back to Holland in the dead of night. Would you be able to share your thoughts on the planes you'd like to see? If it's classified information, I of course understand.

Good God man! I'm not drinking that French muck. I'm off to the bordello ....

MSFFB2 and flight forces/resistance.

Where exactly are these lines Robert? If I were just to faff about and experiment with the plane I'm currently flying, would it be over-ridden in the next update? I may consider you're kind mod offer at some point but I generally don't do mods these days. And I don't understand why there is no aileron force or resistance (with the MSFFB2) in the stock FM when it's set to 110? Yeah agree. I can live with taking my hand off the sensor for landing and taking off (would prefer not of course) but it's awkward for me when firing machine guns. I like to have a good grip if you know what I mean. It'd be nice if the shake could be turned down at least if it can't be turned off. -
Thanks BB. So many things I've forgotten. Tested it out on a few kites and it works. Mapped F6 to my stick.

I like to set up my cockpit view so that I'm lined up with the gunsights where practicable or just for a more comfortable outlook if the default view doesn't suit me. I can do this with the appropriate eyepoint keys after pausing trackir but it will just revert to the default view after unpausing trackir. How can a custom head position be saved?
-
By jove, that's lateral thinking. Thanks for the suggestion Harry. Unfortunately it doesn't work for me. Too much mucking about and it's not a permanent solution. So chaps, is there no way to save a custom pilot view? Eg, the default pilot view in the DH2 is nowhere near lined up with the gunsight. I'd show pics but I ain't got none. And to position oneself with trackir to line up with the sight requires gymnastic abilities I sadly no longer have. Let alone trying to control an aeroplane and dogfight at the same time. It's a pain in the neck.

As we all know, directing the artillery and photographic reconnaissance for the PBI was the primary and most important function of the air services. I realise it's a difficult proposition in-game to actually direct artillery, watch the results and correct accordingly or take photographs of military importance that show up on screen to indicate you got it right before beating it back home tail up. Or not, as the case may be. Have there been any changes in this regard in BH&H II ? Or perhaps in the future ? Either way I look forward with relish to dying often in the re-vamped Quirk doing my duty in Bloody April.

I feel like I'm coming home after years in the wilderness. Luckily for me I'm very unimaginative with account details, ie to say lazy, and logged straight back in. It's all kind of weird but good.

It gets better and better.

Alpha autumn textures. Coming soon.

The Harry Tate is coming and the pending new career mode will have photo recon and artillery directing functions which was the real role of the air services on both sides. "New types of gameplay, such as adjusting artillery fire or photo reconnaissance, with new interactive elements and equipment such a wireless radio and/or camera added to your plane. You can also watch real-time changes in the world based on the results of your actions such as corrected artillery fire." See here for more http://riseofflight....areer-Mode.aspx

I like OFF too and OBD have done a grand job but I have my eyes wide open to other quality WW1 flight sims that deserve support and RoF is obviously heading in the right direction.

Goodness ! Latest news from the RoF devs .... http://riseofflight.com/Blogs/default.aspx

Thanks for doing that Dagger. Much appreciated. The devs have also confirmed the below aircraft additions, There are others too but I'm sworn to secrecy as they are not officially sanctioned yet. Their most time consuming task right now is the revamped career mode so things are happily moving in the right direction to suit all tastes. Thank you for your support of RoF here at CombatAce. - Bristol F2B Fighter (Falcon II) - Bristol F2B Fighter (Falcon III) - Halberstadt CL.II - Royal Aircraft Factory R.E.8 - SPAD VII (150HP) - SPAD VII (180HP) - Sopwith Snipe

For anyone where their AV has picked up trojans and quarantined them, delete them from your virus vault, then go into "system restore" and delete all old restore points or just turn it off (which does the same thing). Viruses tend to lurk in old restore points and can re-emerge at any time from there regardless of whether your AV has "removed" them or not. Reboot, do another full virus scan and repeat as long as required. Hope it helps. -
