  4. Hi VonS Thanks for the new version! I've had my first campaign mission with v8.0 now, it was in November 1915 and I had 3 AI wingmen and we flew in Fokker EII. I used the Hard aircraftaidata file and the AI's fired all right, but they seldom hit: Fired/Hit records: 225/2, 400/2, 400/0 Hit accuracy: 0-0,9% I felt a bit worried since bullets from AI's was buzzing around me and I felt it was a bigger chance they would hit me instead of the enemy. I'll try the harder version tomorrow. S! vonOben

Hi VonS I'm now using a modded version of the default AIRCRAFTAIDATA.ini file where I have lowered the CannonFireAngle and the MaxCannonRange and increased the MaxRollForGunAttack, to similar values as to the AIRCRAFTAIDATA.ini you sent me. The AI's still don't fire much and have bad hit accuracy , but they are slightly more aggressive. These are the best records so far: Fired/Hit: 400/33, 296/32 which is around 10% hit accuracy. The RAF BE 2c rear gunner is useless in hitting anything! Cheers vonOben

    Hi Nick Thanks for the update! Since I'm flying a Armchair Aces Redux campaign it would be nice if all available planes in the campaign were updated, but if that's to much work it would probably be best to concentrate on the most used aircraft types. Cheers vonOben

  11. Hi VonS The complete record from yesterday: AI Fired/Hit records: 0/0, 400/0, 83/4 Todays record from a campaign mission without any "aircraftaidata" file. As usual plenty of enemies and I fired 400 rounds and shot down 5 aircraft. AI Fired/Hit records: 282/3, 374/9, 126/2 Which give a hit rate between 1-2%. So they fire more, but the hit rate is terrible! Cheers vonOben

    Hi Nick I've edited the campaign file now, it was easy using Hexplorer much thanks to the decimal offset display! And I've also edited my pilot to show the actual number of missions flown and kills. I've edited the campaign file as you suggested. It should be interesting to see what happens.   13. Hi Yes 3 years is a long time tinkering with terrains. I've done some flight sim terrain modding myself in the past, so I know what you mean, there is always something to improve. Looking forward to try your terrain upgrade! Cheers vonOben
  14. Hi VonS I've flown another mission this morning before going to work. I don't have the records available right now, but I remember the two records standing out: AI Fired/Hit records: 0/0, 400/0, ?, ? The AI pilot fiering 400 rounds without hitting was one of the better pilots in my squad! My AI setting is also on "normal" and my FM setting is on "Hard", your FM is designed for "Hard" FM, right? I'll try to remove the "aircraftaidata" file and report back! Thanks for trying to improve the "historical realism", that is highly appreciated! Have a nice weekend! Cheers vonOben

  17. Hi VonS I've used your "aircraftaidata version 5" now in two campaign missions and there were a lot of enemy aircraft in both missions. As usual I had to do the work myself and shot down 9 aircraft in those two missions. AI Fired/Hit records: First mission 15/0, 39/0, 24/0 Next mission 24/0, 30/0, 136/0 So they fire a little more than before, but still very little and they never hit anything. I've fired 400 rounds in each mission and my hit rate is 30-40%. Have you tested your files in campaign mode? I recall I've read that the AI is less agressive in campaign missions.     Hi Regarding the in-flight map: I've earlier changed to these settings to get rid of the aircraft icons: MISSIONCONTROL.INI [Map] FriendlyIcon= EnemyIcon= In HUDDATA.INI was already MapDisplayLabels=FALSE But it was easy to figure out what to change to get rid of the annoying text. So I changed to the below settings and that worked well.   20. Hi gterl Thank you for making these nice screens and for your 'historical' planing maps! They certainly improves the look in game! I've tested "Guitarclassic55 Menu Screens with MOVIE" and it was also a nice improvement to the default screens, but the Campaign screen gave CTD. When I removed the Campaignscreen.ini no CTD, but when trying to delete an old campaign it also gave a CTD. Any ideas how to fix this? Best regards vonOben

    Hi Nicholas Back with some questions! I would like to copy my pilot data (kills/missions, rank, medals etc.) and the AI pilots from a finished campaign month to the next campaign month of my Armchair Aces campaign. There are 12 pilots including myself in the finished campaign. So between which offsets should I do the copying in the *Campaign.sav file and Pilot*.plt file? *Campaign.sav copy from offset 2940 to 7732? Pilot*.plt copy from offset 6 to 684? Thanks in advance! I've tested Guitarclassic55_Menu_Screens_with_MOVIE.zip and it was a nice improvement to the default screens, but the Campaign screen gave CTD. When I removed the Campaignscreen.ini no CTD, but when trying to delete an old campaign it also gave a CTD. Any ideas how to fix this? 12. I can't get "Map Icons for First Eagles" to work. I followed the instructions but the icons doesn't change. I've also tried "National counters for First eagles" and since I'm using "WWI Alternative Medals Pack for FE" I also installed Nations.ini nations17.ini. With those nation ini's installed I get a CTD in Campaign when selecting the planning map. Perhaps I can't change the map icons when I have already a campaign started? Best regards vonOben

    Hi guys ojcar; I'm glad that you agree. If you want to make any changes for your next version, right now. I can test the files for you in my ongoing campaign, if it's possible to swap campagn files during an ongoing campaign? Nicholas Bell; Thanks for the information! I'll try to decrease the squadron number then and lower the morale for my next (October 1915) campaign. It would be great to be able transfer the pilot data for both myself and for my squad mates to the next month in a "Armchair Aces Redux" campaign, that would make the campaign more consistent and enjoyable for me. I can't say I'm comfortable with hexediting, but I can usually manage if I get thorough instructions. I'll open the Campaign and Pilot files in my hexeditor and check your pdf to see if I can figure it out. Most likely I'll be back with some questions. Best regards vonOben
