FA-18A Flaps
Vampyre replied to MaverickMike's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 1 Series - Mods/Skinning Discussion
They are both automatic and selectable at the same time as determined by the computers. All of the flight controls are tied into one another through the computers. The pilot can select the position he wants for lift purposes but the computers adjust the flap positions to assist in roll and (on the Supers) speed brake functions. The fact of the matter is that all of the flight control movements of the real aircraft cannot be simulated with SF/WoX series. -

It is the only other scheme I know of for the German Navy.

To Drop External Tanks, or Not?
Vampyre replied to Oswald Bastable's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 1 Series - General Discussion
I did a stock check tonight on a Super Hornet 480gal drop tank to check the price.... US$239,315.00 for a single tank. I own a Ford F-250 and I could buy five of them for the price of one Super Hornet tank. Taking that into account along with the fact that there are not that many actually on hand to replace the tanks that are punched off and you can see why it is good to hang on to them. I usually edit my resupply figures for campaigns to reflect close to real world supplies of drop tanks and run out of tanks pretty quick if I leave them on the AI planes or punch them off every time anything happens. -
To Drop External Tanks, or Not?
Vampyre replied to Oswald Bastable's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 1 Series - General Discussion
In a real squadron the drop tanks are a limited commodity. Chances are that if you drop them there will probably not have replacements immediatly available. I take enough fuel to complete my mission and do not drop the tanks unless absolutly necessary to simulate reality. -
Not true, Sword makes a pretty good T-38 in 1/72 scale.

Just some vids of MirageF1 and 2000D (?)
Vampyre replied to Atreides's topic in Military and General Aviation
I know you wanted a reply from FC but I believe I can answer your question. The Mirage F-1 is hooked up to a ground electrical power supply. Being that I see no ground air starter attachment I believe the F-1 probably has either an electric starter or a nitrogen accumulator that is charged by an electric hydraulic pump or hand pump to start its Atar-9K-50. -
Indeed. I can't wait to see Megan Fox... and the explosions too. BTW, The "jet powered Reaper" is actually called the Avenger.
