KMD Editor Question
Florian replied to Kaizer's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 1 Series - Mission/Campaign Building Discussion
Yes he does..... The Gammon built by McGuyver, using chewing gum paper, a rubber band and the spring of a ballpen. -
Yes, that is no secret. But those guys could find out by their self. This board has also a search function, unbelievable, right? http://forum.combatace.com/index.php?showt...st&p=108965 Oh, and it´s WIP, maybe out for Christmas...... in a few years.

Just a little plane I've flown once or twice...(pictures)
Florian replied to FastCargo's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 1 Series - Mods/Skinning Discussion
Nice one! I like the detail of airbrakes and gear. Uh, i know what you mean. Before you can take off with a new model, you crash more than hundred times while landing. -
Just wonder which scale?
Florian replied to hgbn's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 1 Series - Mods/Skinning Discussion
You´re welcome. Just a small word to it. It´s still up to date, except maybe the poly count numbers shown there. It´s from 2001 i believe, so on hardware limitations they made a borderline at about 5000 polygons. But today, many guys got newer systems, wich can handle much more. There are great addons out (or on the way) wich use up to 20k polys. So you don´t need to keep this at all. If you are not satisfied and would need a bit more than 5000, there´s no problem to do so. -
Just wonder which scale?
Florian replied to hgbn's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 1 Series - Mods/Skinning Discussion
Well, almost. Of course it´s mainly skill and time (and more time, and more time... ), but you have to respect some rules. 3ds MAX Exporter Notes The ultimate recource for beginning. -
Just wonder which scale?
Florian replied to hgbn's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 1 Series - Mods/Skinning Discussion
The scale is simply 1:1. If you want to build something wich is 5.342 meters in reality, your model has to be 5.342 meters. Of course you have to set 3ds scale to use metric system. -

Brainless Question No.10
Florian replied to Brainless's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 1 Series - Mods/Skinning Discussion
I´ve never counted the hours (and i will never do so, otherwise i guess i´ll stop modeling ASAP! ), but in general with a few hours a day an aircraft takes me about a month, belongs to the difficult level of the shape. The cockpit about two more, also depending on how many work is to do (how many gauges...). Skinning and INI dance might take several weeks. Real life can move things up of course. When my wife´s bored again, i´ll have to take a break. And that is the big point. Until i´m satisfied with the stuff it can take several month more. Of course, that´s just for me. Other Modders will definite be faster or slower. In general it depends on many facts and i believe nobody can give you an exact number of days/hours/month/years. -
Guess they scared some elephants like hell!!! Cool vid...

How can I close the hud
Florian replied to Lovlovyer's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 1 Series - General Discussion
Well, i would suggest, you take the answer on your question, instead of asking same thing again. http://forum.combatace.com/index.php?showtopic=23749 -
Simple question (stupid even?)
Florian replied to Herc's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 1 Series - General Discussion
First you´ll need the *.CAT extractor tool here at CA. http://forum.combatace.com/index.php?autom...mp;showfile=343 Use it to open the MissionData.cat file in your Flight folder. Extract the Nations Name *.LST files you want to change. After you did, just leave them in the Flight folder, as the game engine will use files there prior to the ones in the CAT. Edit: Oh, and welcome aboard, at least with your first post! -
General Loadout Probs
Florian replied to 76.IAP-Blackbird's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 1 Series - General Discussion
Not when using the data.ini in Fracture´s version, no A-A mission statement. In reality, yes, but since the game engine isn´t told, it doesn´t know that. Of course, if you give it the possibility to conduct A-A duty, the A-A loadout will work. Ok, Wrench beat me in speed of answering. -
General Loadout Probs
Florian replied to 76.IAP-Blackbird's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 1 Series - General Discussion
Fueltanks not showing up is a simple thing. Look at the weapon station entrys for left and right wing. You´ll find "FuelTankName=Tank370_F4" and in the loadout file you want to mount Tank300_A4 on it. Both have to match. I believe, most of the time, the game engine chooses in that case the droptank defined in the data.ini, but here i guess, they don´t show up, because like Wrench said, it´s an attack aircraft and not using the A-A loadout. But i would need to d/l it also and check back, like Wrench. -
how to use america nw without desert.cat.
Florian replied to Shin_kazama's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 1 Series - General Discussion
Maybe it would be usefull to know, wich game you own of the Thirdwire series (it´s not SFP1, as you don´t have a desert.cat, i assume)? -
Cockpit building tutorial?
Florian replied to kukulino's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 1 Series - Mods/Skinning Discussion
My Tornado Cockpit isn´t perfect and the other one´s in work, i guess, aren´t either. I have other projects on the line, so i won´t be able to make a tutorial, but if someone got a question about building cockpits, give me a PM. -
Nose wheel steering
Florian replied to TurtleHawk's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 1 Series - General Discussion
The LOD file has to have a mesh for the game to make the front gear moving while using rudder. Here´s an example: CastoringWheel=TRUE CastoringNodeName=FGDumper needs to be set in the data.INI of the aircraft. The 3ds mesh "FGDumper" is the red one below. -
Slimer Madness!
Florian replied to Zurawski's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 1 Series - Mods/Skinning Discussion
Check my Tornado IDS, Zur. It has also light meshes included, that can be turned on/off. This is my first light entry in the aircrafts data.ini file: [LeftPositionLight] SystemType=LIGHT LightNodeName=L2 CanFlash=FALSE I´m not sure wich one it is, but that doesn´t matters. LightNodeName i don´t need to explain, i guess. You have three choices to setup mesh lights. 1. No entry in the data file, means the lights will be ON all the time and cannot be turned off. 2. The entry like above. When you turn on lights, they will be on. 3. Same as above, but CanFlash set to TRUE. Guess what? It will flash! Greets Florian -
Decoy Eject Positions
Florian posted a topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 1 Series - Mods/Skinning Discussion
Does anyone knows, if there is a way to make the eject position move? I would need the chaff and flares coming out along a line on the aircraft. I guess it´s impossible, but maybe i didn´t mentioned a gimmick. Thanks in advance. -
a Bit problem with loadout
Florian replied to Silverbolt's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 1 Series - Mods/Skinning Discussion
He allready is and if he wouldn´t celebrating Diwali, he would do Beta Testing 24 hours a day, i believe. -
a Bit problem with loadout
Florian replied to Silverbolt's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 1 Series - Mods/Skinning Discussion
Well, i could offer you another solution. Just let him go to the back seat, if it´s his desire. Before anyone asks.......2 weeks. -

How to equip weapons rack?
Florian replied to JKstar's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 1 Series - General Discussion
JKstar, you´re able to load a single missile on it? In that case you should add to the helicopter´s DATA.ini in line AttachmentType the shortcut "TLR", since that´s the specification for the rack, not the missile. Greets Florian -
Multiple Shots?
Florian replied to Silverbolt's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 1 Series - General Discussion
Well, at least for the bombs, there should be a way. You would need to edit the aircraft´s cockpit data file. In the first lines you should find this: RippleQuantity=1,2,4,5 RippleInterval=50,100,200 for example. Change this to: RippleQuantity=1,2,4,5 RippleInterval=0,50,100,200 Set the quantity to 2 and interval to 0 in game. -
