I'm running a Compaq Presario laptop with an AMD Athlon 64 (I think it's about the equivalent of a Pentium 1.4ghz), NVidia GeForce graphics card... Should this be able to cope with SH3? The computer was brand new in late 2004, which is about when SH3 came out, if I recall correctly, so should be about on a par, in that sense. It runs e.g. Rome Total War with no difficulties, if that's any help as a guide...? Sorry - not at all a techy person in terms of hardware. Just want some indication before I splash some cash on the game. Cheers.

Curses! Will maybe have to look at an upgrade of some sort then eh? Irritating that there was no sub sim released between SH2 and SH3 in terms of system requirements. Cheers for your help though Dagger.

This may have been done already on here (if so apologies!) but I would highly recommend all aviation fans, and in particular those who are fans of the RAF V-Bombers to read VULCAN 607. It's a ripping yarn all about the low level raid carried out by a single Vulcan on Port Stanley airport during the Falklands conflict, and the massive support operation (Victor tankers etc) needed to carry it out. That's a big THUMBS UP from me. Brings back memories of watching the Vulcan flying displays at RAF Finningley airshow back in the 1980s when I was a kid.

It's a GeForce4 440 Go64M apparently. And 512MB of RAM. AMD Athlon 64 3000+ (Presario R3000) Should this be able to cope with SH3? I've been a fan of sub sims since I was a lad, with Silent Service 2 on the Amiga 500, and would love to get into this, having played SH2 to death but found that it won't now run on my XP equipped machine.

Hello folks. Just been trying to download the new Mannock skin from the downloads section. I have put the folder into the SE5A folder, and copied the text from the texture set file into the text of the config data file, but it still doesn't seem to appear in the loadout screen. Please can somebody who has done this successfully tell me where I'm going wrong? Cheers

Thanks chaps. I think Gr Viper has it. I only have the one default skin for the SE5 too. So I should edit the INI file with this texture as [002] rather than [003]. Will give that a go and see how we get on.

Heh. I was just thinking that I used to have a model of this plane when I was a lad too.
