Adding aircraft to WOE campaigns
TurtleHawk replied to TurtleHawk's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 1 Series - General Discussion
Thanks for the encouragement, USAFMTL and additional info. I concur. It's not really that difficult. There is a nice feeling of accomplishment when I learn something new and get it to work in the sim. Then to actually go fly it, way cool!! It's just at first blush, it feels like YIKES!!! I deeply appreciate all that you and others contribute. AMAZING! Can't thank you enuff. Most certainly did not intend to ask you or anyone else to add something to your list. I'm grateful for whatever people have the time to roll out, in their own good time. I'm starting to ramble.... -
Adding aircraft to WOE campaigns
TurtleHawk replied to TurtleHawk's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 1 Series - General Discussion
Thanks, everyone. Think I'll wait for someone else to do a new campaign with MODERN a/c. I've got my installs working and don't want to screw them up. But I sure would enjoy a campaign in germany, vietnam or the desert that featured F-16, F-15E, F-18C, etc. -
SFP/WOV/WOE Patch names and numbers
TurtleHawk posted a topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 1 Series - General Discussion
I'm gonna go out on a limb here... To those who have been with the SFP series a long time the info is obvious, but for us new folks it isn't. Seems like some times people who respond get a little annoyed, and quickly refer people to the knowledge-base. My guess is the knowledge base was written by "knowledgeable" people, consequently sometimes obvious things are not clear to the newbie. So, I appreciate your patience. Here's an example: Patches are referred to as SP1-SP4, but when you go to the d/l section, they also have DATES, 8.30.06, 5.25.06, etc. Get my point? It would help me if there was a chart that had something like: Service Pack 1= 5.15.06 Service Pack 2= 5.25.06 etc. I get so confused... Thanks for listening. Sorry if this has been covered, over, and over again. -
SFP/WOV/WOE Patch names and numbers
TurtleHawk replied to TurtleHawk's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 1 Series - General Discussion
I'm less concerned with why, and more concerned with which. As in, which is which? And Service Pack does seem more appropriate than Patch. But, could someone help with which is which? v5.15.06=SP? for SFP1/SFG/WOV/WOE? v5.25.06=SP? " " v8.30.06=SP? " " Thank you. -

TurtleHawk replied to tmdgm's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 1 Series - General Discussion
When I go to the Modern era a/c -> F/A-18 I can see ten files, none of them is the specified model. I did find it at colum5, though -
SFP/WOV/WOE Patch names and numbers
TurtleHawk replied to TurtleHawk's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 1 Series - General Discussion
Thanks, I know that the version number displays in the loadscreen. However, if you follow the link in the post, it will take you to the WoV patches, dated: v5.15.06 and v8.30.06 So, is SP4 v5.15.06? This is important to clear up I think, because when installing add-ons it seems that it matters which patch is installed. It seems like most add-ons were done pre-v8.30.06. Most read-me(s) say "patch to SP4" It looks like v8.30.06 adds TiR, a bit of graphics, and fixes something with the mirrors, small compared to previous patches. Thanks for hanging in there -

Are Laser Guided Weapons modeled?
TurtleHawk posted a topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 1 Series - General Discussion
I've searched the forums, but could not find any reference to employing laser guided weapons. I couldn't find a "activate laser" key or anything like that. Are they accurately model? Do you have to be playing on easy, normal, hard? Thanks for any help or advice. -
Adding aircraft to WOE campaigns
TurtleHawk replied to TurtleHawk's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 1 Series - General Discussion
Ok, I think I get it. 1. Make sure the desired a/c and squadron are installed in WOE? 2. Check for time period availability of a/c. [Can the time period be edited/extended?] 3. Change an existing squandron in one of the campaigns to desired a/c and squadron 4. Cross fingers, launch the game, pray I just want to get a Strike Eagle into one of the SFP/WOE campaigns. -
Are Laser Guided Weapons modeled?
TurtleHawk replied to TurtleHawk's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 1 Series - General Discussion
This is getting good. Yes, I do have the Weapons Pack installed. I have noticed that LGBs are available in the stores for some a/c, but no targeting pod. My answer was maybe the pod was just not included, and I just need to add it to the list(which I don't know how to do, yet). And it occurred to me that in other sims you can "buddy lase", but thought that's not in SFP/WOE. There's a lot more going on than advertised! Thanks for clearing that up. Now about that targeting pod. Can I use the Weapons Data Editor to add a pod to the stores available for various a/c? Or what is the correct way? Is there more to it than that? Do I have to edit any other a/c info? Thanks for the help. -

Are Laser Guided Weapons modeled?
TurtleHawk replied to TurtleHawk's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 1 Series - General Discussion
That's okay. I didn't think you went off topic. Actually, what you describe is what my problem was, i wasn't getting the BOOM! And thanks for all of the other replies. I need to pay closer attention to arming each aircraft. Some may require a targeting pod(LANTIRN/PAVESPIKE?), some have it built into the targeting system. Is that about right? -

Thanks, Flanker562. The tutorial was helpful. Need to d/l the bombing range. Practice, practice, practice... Is the LANTIRN included in the Weapons Pack? I think that's the problem. I haven't been loading a LANTIRN with the LGBs. -
Detailed Installation Guide for Final Dawn
TurtleHawk posted a topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 1 Series - General Discussion
Is there a detailed guide for installing FD? I don't have a problem getting the aircraft installed, but I can't find the Soundslist.ini for installing the carrier into WOE. Any help will be appreciated. TurtleHawk -

I have found the Talon, but can't locate the pilot skins, especially the one of a nude Jessica Biel. Just wanted to make sure people were paying attention. Thanks, LRM -

MannieB, I have no idea what you are referring to. I get the joke about naked Jessica Biel, I started it. So, I don't get your point. How can you judge my sense of humor from one forum post? And after the laughter stops, I'm still looking for the files -

TurtleHawk posted a topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 1 Series - General Discussion
I seem to be making an error when installing. I am not sure which SFP1 patch to use: v5.15.06 or v08.30.06? Step by step: 1.Fresh SFP1 2.Patch to v5.15.06 or v08.30.06 ? 3.BS '83 4.Weapons Pack 5.BS '83 upgrade 6.Go Fly! I'm so confused Thanks, TurtleHawk -
Installation Guide for Burning Sands '83
TurtleHawk replied to TurtleHawk's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 1 Series - General Discussion
Thanks Tailspin, I saw that. I think the key question for me is about the SFP1 patch. When in doubt, just follow the directions I'll give it a try with SP4, ignoring the later patch, and see if that works. TurtleHawk -
Saving Campaigns

Hello, Is there a way to save campaigns in WOE? I start a new campaign, fly several missions, exit, when I restart there are no saved campaigns. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks! -
Saving Campaigns
TurtleHawk replied to TurtleHawk's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 1 Series - General Discussion
Thank you for the reply jtin. I thought it should save automaically, but it isn't. The button should show a drop-down list with saved camp's, I think? But the drop-down is empty. Think I'll try a reinstall. Maybe.
