  1. A fictional "There I was..."

Thanks STORM. Yeah, read ALOT of Thud stories growing up. Especially loved the Lou Drendel soft bound books on the -105.
  2. Holy friggin crap, nice bird dogs. Great work, might be worth the low and slow just to fly those beauties!
  3. Rambling

My only suggestion is to keep them coming. You have inspired me - I am immersed in SF2V right now. Got multiple campaigns going. My idea was a humble tribute to "There I Was....." a cartoon that appeared in the back of every issue of AIR FORCE. Basically, alot of old war stories drawn into a cartoon to illustrate the story a bit. There were some hilarious ones.....but mine would be serious war stories, kind of AAR style....
  4. Silly Question

"Now how in the hell did you get the beans above the frank!?!"

  7. Aggressor squadrons question

Didn't VFC-13 deploy with VFA-106 to Germany to train with JG73 and their Migs?
  8. WASTE IN SPACE

That is hilarious, I am trying to imagine unstrapping, pulling the flightsuit down, squaring up to drop a deuce, and fly at the same time. To be covered in your own excrement and then have someone else throw up on you, that had to be a rough day!!
  9. This should be an outstanding addition......Tango Mike
  10. What about the "Air Battleships" you know, the turtel, shark, eagle. Can't remember where those can be found.... Maybe to cheesy and unairplane like (Though I must admit, I tooled around in all of them a few times!)
  11. Whats you favourite Patton's quote?

"We want to get the hell over there. The quicker we clean up this G--damned mess, the quicker we can take a little jaunt against the purple pissing Japs and clean out their nest, too. Before the G--damned Marines get all of the credit." - General George S. Patton, Jr (addressing to his troops before Operation Overlord, June 5, 1944
  12. Close calls happen all over and where you least expect it....I remember an up close and personal encounter with an F-16 from Hill flying low level from Vance AFB. I was fortunate enough to get (beg) a ride with a UH-1 from Ft Sill to the Airshow at Vance in '85. I had moved one of the rear seats to face forward just aft and between the AC and Peter Pilot for our return to Sill. After being up for some time, they mentioned to me to keep an eye peeled for fast movers. (Hell, the Vipers were still preflighting when we left VAFB, maybe half hour head start?) Wasn't long - I scanned to the right, and saw one, before I could call F-16, three o'clock, he was passing across our nose same altitude. And no joy on his wingman. The AC just pointed to the ground in front of us, and I got to experience a little negative G rather abruptly. We happened to be passing over some Native American museum with an outdoor tour, and you know - you can hear a Huey from miles away. So someone HAD to be looking skyward, and had to do a double take as we appeared to make a gun run on them!!! I have heard of many close calls in Iraq, the Army and Marines fly their helos differently, most flight ops to FOBs are at night, and all of these birds are converging on a tight LZ at night, approaching from different directions. The potential is there.......................
  13. wow, I am glad I downloaded this one. First sortie, bagged three -21s. The cockpit looks great, really thorough detail. Excellent read me, folks should read those sometime! Fascinating about the early builds having cement ballast where the radar should go!!

  19. Topgun II in the works

Charlie: Excuse me, Lieutenant. Is there something wrong? Maverick: Yes ma'am, the data on the MiG is inaccurate. Charlie: How's that, Lieutenant? Maverick: Well, I just happened to see a MiG 28 do a... Goose: We! Maverick: Uh, sorry Goose. WE happened to see a MiG 28 do a 4g negative dive. Charlie: Where did you see this? Maverick: Uh, that's classified. Charlie: It's what? Maverick: It's classified. I could tell you, but then I'd have to kill you.

  21. excellent book, excellent game (at the time) still have my Amiga in storage, (and probably the game too!); Then there was the movie.......... Took a date to see it, not exactly a romantic film! And they did not do the book justice......Great footage of the Intruder in some parts of it. I can think of one realistic part in the movie, making the flight surgeon puke!!!!
