  1. Great job on this one, my nose gear even moves. I love the scheme on the FB (lizard I think it was called) Was it not unusual for them to carry four fuel tanks, while on alert? Seems like I saw pix of that, just wondered what type of room they would have left for the SRAM if they had to load extra tanks like that. I love that this model kind of had everything as far as countermeasures, I know alot of jets from that era did not have internal cm, kind of an afterthought.....
  2. downloaded at work (don't tell the boss) looks damn fine! Got the tanks to show up (sometimes I am .ini challenged) great work team. The old man had some buds that got to fly the -111 in anger. It can NOT be a good thing to be at the receiving end of whatever this bird might hurl on ya......
  3. BSG

Came in to this series like in season 2.5 maybe? My cousin was watching it, when he realized I had not seen any of it, he started over at the beginning. Definitely a difference from the tv series I watched as a kid!!!! Love me some Starbuck and 6. The old man watched the old series with me, we watched the original Star Trek re runs as well. I think I bought season 2, 'cause cuz did not have it. I really got into it, I thought it was to end after three seasons??? Guess demand kept it going.
  4. Outstanding work. Really makes one think before touching anything yellow and black in the cockpit, huh? Might be a short ride. I got to see it (I assume there is only one) at Wright Pat. Looks kind of like an F-100 had relations with a shark!!!! Great job on the cammie skin. Bombed the crap out of the runway at Noi Bai with an eight ship.
  5. I generate alot of single missions for this theater. Surgical strikes, maybe COIN ops given recent events in other parts of the real world. I have used artistic liberties with the mercs of the Dhimari Air Force (Mirage 2000, or what ever aircraft gives me a warm fuzzy on any given day) Both of these fictitious nations fueled my imagination since day one with this series.(SU-27s for Paran, with their own mercs, aka Guards Regiments flying them) Dhimari O-1s with nukes......
  6. The Person Below Me

I do work on Christmas Eve. Just started this job two weeks ago, and being a Fire Dept on a military base, the saying is "We might doze, but we never close" The person below me thinks Reindeer can actually fly!!
  7. Betty Page died 12-11-2008

Oh no, she will be missed. No other woman in print has ever moved me the way she did. Her beauty is unmatched in my opinion, no other woman made for better nose art! Rest in Peace
  8. Pretty cool stuff. Wonder just how many jets they would squeeze in there. Those tunnel entrances would be trouble for the Mig-29 and Su-27 though, huh!?!
  9. Tales from the RAF

Not the RAF, but the stories about fire training brought this to mind - One of Saddam's old Mig-21s used to simulate an engine fire. This was at Taji, Iraq, while I got certified in ARFF (Airport Resce Fire Fighter). Pretty ingenious and cheap training prop, considering we were just a bunch of lowly, overpaid, underworked civilian contractors!!!
  10. Tales from the RAF

"There were also new faces at the fire section a few days later." As there should be! Spent some time as a fire chief (glorified babysitter, at times) and our trucks even had little flashing lights on the pump panel to let you know the level of water (or other agent) Yet sometimes, idiot lights did not help
  11. That canyon would look nice with some jawas and banthas to strafe....
  12. Spectacular fireball lights up the night

Let's just hope someone was testing the TSR.2 in the Great White North.
  13. The Person Below Me

True, although I would prefer riding an ALCM, as this is as close to flying fast jets for real that my big irish butt will ever get The person below me is both frightened and fascinated by the bright lights/explosion in the sky over Canada last night
  14. Awesome, downloading to take for a spin as we speak!!
  15. Obsessions

COD4, (multiplayer) and the old Rainbow6 series. Could not get enough of terrorist hunt. NCAA Football on PS2, and of late, on my Wii
  16. Black Knight Typhoon of 54 Squadron "What If..."
  17. The Person Below Me

FAlSE - But I have pulled a Pee Wee Herman on a transatlantic commercial flight The person below me has at least on one occasion requested an israeli skin for any SFP1 mod release
  18. Great web site Calvin! Lots of good info on a fascinating airplane. (Witnessed a GA ANG B-ONE do a barrell roll at the Robins AFB open house in 1998.) I can only imagine those long flights, it seems all bombers were designed with crew space as an afterthought!
  19. Excellent info in this thread. Whilst passing through Dubais in Nov 05, I observed two Bones on the ramp, anyone in the know have any idea why they would be there? The UAE airshows are in Jan normally. Just thought it odd that although they tolerate westerners there, I would not think they would allow operational missions downrange to stage out of there. Even the imams end their call to prayers with some statement about freeing their part of the world of the "oppressors".
  20. I have no intel on this country - extremists? jihadists? pessimists? No sir, don't trust 'em. Let's get SAC back on line, that part of the world is about to heat up
  21. Cool and imaginatve. Does their airspace show on the SFP1 desert map?
  22. The Weasels who flew the Hun and Thud definitely had brass ones. We would occasionally see one of those tired old G model Thuds from the GA ANG down around Moody. Must have taken alot of sweat to keep those things airworthy!
  23. Yeah, the wife was not thrilled when I sidetracked to the museum at WP (Christmas eve! On the way to see family in Columbus OH) She did like the Air Force One aircraft though. When my old man was an IP at George, he trained alot of crews that eventually went down the street to fly weasels. I imagine some of those guys attend as well. One of his best buds was XO of the 562nd and got to deploy for DS. I think he flew 30 missions or so. I was always fascinated by the mission, and the "First In, Last Out" motto. It was interesting to see the way the 52nd at Spang would pair up Weasels with E model F-4s, (eventually F-16s) I guess G model F-4s were in short supply.
  24. Inspiration

downloading new (or old) planes get mr motivated. Been fiddling with the B-36, then enhanced explosions, now I am hung on the B-58 again. I love jettisoning that big tank, then dropping the shape and seeing that big ole mushroom cloud. Sick, I know.....
  25. Step away from the computer...

I always tell the wife, "Better I park my butt in front of the computer than some stripper named Misty"
