  1. Looks a little windy, good thing you're under 10,000ft. Did your canopy blow off with the hit?
  2. New Sig Ideas.....

I like the third just for cool graphics. :)
  3. What are we doing to conserve gas?

    Muhahahaaaaaa!
  4. First off, some of you may know I was a beta tester for SFP1. One thing I wish I would have tested more was multiplayer, but hooking up with other testers at the time was difficult with my schedule. However, when I did get a MP game once in awhile I never had many problems. Those MP sessions were always with the same builds sans mods/skins...always the same builds. Tonight I hooked up with a squad mate who recently got SF. Neither of us has any mods/skins. We both went through Hyperlobby, connected without a hitch, and flew head to head virtually lag free and bug free for an hour. No CTDs, no black screens, just pure killing fun. This leads to my observation. Maybe we were just lucky, but I'm thinking MP is working just fine for vanilla SF...right out of the box and patched. I'm thinking there might be a compatibility issue with folks who have additional skins, aircraft, or even adjusted files. This observation is with the retail version and is no way associated with any beta builds. If I understand right, the host machine decides what's compatible. My squad mate was the host with stock SF, and I joined him with stock SF so there were no problems at all. If I'm correct about all this, then it's not HL that's the problem, but rather host "A" has adjusted something...joiner "B" has something different or nothing at all, and game crashes. I haven't attempted to join anyone with skins or something, but I know I had an enjoyable hour of dogfighting tonight. :D I'm guessing even though this sim is extremely moddable, MP compatibility still needs work. <S>
  5. BP, do you get the same problems while flying off line? I know some folks are still having a tough time with something not clicking in the sim regardless of MP or offline. It would be cool to narrow down the problems. My game runs almost flawless all the time off or on line. Here's my system, maybe we could do some comparisons. Everyone should jump in and state whether they're having problems or not. P3 500 256MB Ram 40GB Seagate HD (7200rpm) Win 98SE Dx 9 GeForce 4 MX420 64MB video (41.09 drivers) SB Live! 6. What are we doing to conserve gas?

Hmmm...with the past two months under 30 degrees F for high temps and averaging 10 degrees F for the low...heat's been cranking. No conserving there. Recent snow storms...my Jeep Cherokee's been in 4 wheel drive almost all the time. I smile at the ricers tucked nicely in the snow drifts off the side of the road as I cruise on by. BTW, I'm not one of those folks who uses an SUV as a status symbol, mine actually goes off road and gets dirty when I go camping in the summer. Northern Michigan has some great places off the beaten path. In the winter I use it to get to work when others are snowed in...I work for an airline and we don't close. Some of you folks weren't even born yet, but I remember the "oil shortage" in the 70s. People freaking out and sitting in line for hours at gas stations. Teachers at my school warned us that oil would run dry in my lifetime...oh the horror. I still have faith in Beerman, out pumping in the Gulf of Mexico. Plus the untapped oil reserves in Alaska and off the west coast...although the treehuggers and whale savers don't like that idea.
  7. Rgr Snapple, voice comms is a must for figuring out what's going on. Good point also re: terrain. :)
  8. Fast Eagle sick....

Prayer lamp is lit...hurry up and get better oh Fast one.
  9. Ooops, BTW Navychief, I hope you don't think I was avoiding you in HL tonight. As I exited my session I already planned on coming here to post my thoughts. As I closed HL I saw you in there...it was too late because I'd already clicked off. <S>
  10. Cool info Sony, I wasn't aware. :) OT: Aussies also had a bunch of F-4Es from 69-73...which the US took back (leased I guess) and converted to F-4G Wild Weasels. :D
  11. TK said from day one this isn't a Viet Nam sim, and the aircraft chosen were the ones most familiar and used by allied world air forces. This was to make more people interested because they could fly the same era aircraft that their countries flew. I don't think I've ever seen F-111s in anything but US colors...I could be wrong. :) 111 is a sweet looking bird though.
  12. http://www.simhq.com/cgi-bin/ultimatebb.cgi :)
  13. True Snapple, my "car" that I love and have right now is a 94 Jeep Cherokee 4x4 Sport. It's not very high performance at all, yet I still can laugh at the ricers trying to run with me in the snow...lol. Filled up Friday, $1.79 regular unleaded. I do have a 92 Probe GT that can keep up with most of em, but I need to get rid of that since the wife isn't learning how to drive stick very well...and I'm now more of a truck kinda guy.
  14. For some reason I'm feeling a bit old right now. I turned 19 in 1986 and only wanted a '79 Monte Carlo (that I never did get ). At 19 I joined the Air Force, got married (first time), saw the Challenger disaster and the bombing of Libya. Happy birthday dude! :D
  15. Jeff call off your SPAM GOONS

Paranoia will destroy ya. Can't understand why the one person who has been banned from more sim and squad sites than I could count...yet given a fair chance here...would even begin to make waves. The same sort of web site attack was made at McFly's citing pop ups...which there are none and never have been any. *shrugs* As Forrest Gump would say, "That's all I have to say about thayat."
  16. YESSSSSS

Sooooo.....you need beta testers? Oops, nevermind. My machine is below minimum required.
  17. YESSSSSS

Thanks for the reply Vlad. I wasn't really looking for something 100% hardcore, like Falcon 4 of jet sims. As long as the flight models are somewhat like flying the real ones (difficult realistic) I should be happy. I don't need all the avionics systems and subsystems to make me happy, just a good flight model with lots of stuff to blow up reeeeeal good. :D
  18. North Korea? Interfer?

Scares the hell out of me and hope it doesn't come down to it. They're a desperate group of people and they may just fight like a cornered animal. Of course marching the goose step might make them too tired to fight...heh.
  19. DOH! Looks like their forum's back up...but now it says I don't have permission to be there. Hope it's still just a glitch.
  20. HEHE...btw, that is excellent damage modelling. :)
  21. I hope you don't mind a different opinion...because if it's fun then it has to be good. :) Are 12 rocket launchers and 6 iron bombs anywhere near realistic for that aircraft? Don't mean to offend...because as I said, it's all fun. I'm just one of those historically correct types, and that seems like a very heavy aircraft.
  22. Mon Dieu! Where's the chivary? Why aren't you assisting the other pilot out of his aircraft...can't you see he's getting a head rush???
  23. Something I saw at Oshkosh

Was this last year's Oshkosh? I haven't seen an F-4 fly since our last F-4E left for Turkey (they bought our ANG Unit's Phantoms) in 92. Of course if I do see one fly again it'll probably just bring tears to my eyes...lol.
  24. Youuuuuu_Whooooooo, where are U?

I flew USAF from Nov 99 until about 9 months ago almost every day. Sadly, after three years non stop and doing just about everything there was to do with it I finally got burned out. The Superpro stuff coming out looked kind of nice, but once I started testing SFP1 the aircraft in USAF suddenly looked "arcadey". Some of the aircraft that even were included in Superpro looked pretty crappy IMO, although there were a few that looked very good.
