  1. Come on Ranger, you know those Squid pilot types...don't ask don't tell. :shock: *Weasel flees*
  2. Hehe, "Dan the newbie"! *Looks at SFP1 credits in game manual* Project 1 Development Team Programming/Design: Tsuyoshi Kawahito Art/Graphics Design: James Richards (Thought he was Jamie...lol) John Trivelli (only one I haven't seen around...he must be quiet) Dan Waldrep (message board newbie) Oh wow, I hadn't noticed this before. Additional Design: Ken "Major Lee" Golden (cool) Hey lookie! Special Thanks: among others, Sidney Mayeux (or Scroll_87FIS and good personal friend of mine who is a Phantom driver) :) Anyhoo, I wasn't aware the Navy had an F-86 variant, good info! I wonder if it's wings folded...that would look interesting. :) *Weasy buys everyone a beer and challenges any comers to a friendly game of darts*
  3. VMFA-232 has taken up station in SF!

    Welcome! <S> **mumbles about another Navy/Marine squadron** :shock:
  4. =(VF143)=

    Ohhhhhhh, I see now. My bad. :D I didn't notice the red sword in the screenie...cool.
  5. =(VF143)=

    "Looks down at the patch in my signature of the 561FS Wild Weasels that was my squadron in the USAF and shrugs" ;) :)
  6. =(VF143)=

    That's an odd squadron patch to show on a naval F-4 tail Phantom Warrior.
  7. Column's isn't an E model. Nice work regardless!
  8. lock alarms

    I think a basic RWR was first used for the Wild Weasel mission so they could detect and destroy SAMs in the F-105G and F-4C in the mid to late 60s. Maybe also in the "not so successful" F-100 WWs (most of them were lost). I'm not sure if they used RWR in any other aircraft until the 70s...of course I've been wrong before.
  9. Christmas card you would only find on a AF base

    True, I suppose you'd have to be smart to drop live ordinance. Just funnin!
  10. Oh, by the way...check out the F10 fly by view while travelling this fast. I don't think I've ever seen such a fast fly by!
  11. Check your airspeed indicator inside the cockpit. This shows KTAS (true air speed) and there's a mach meter. The speed shown on screen is KIAS (indicated air speed). Here you can see I'm cruising around at 763 KIAS, but in the cockpit on the airspeed indicator I'm going 1,009 KTAS which is showing around Mach 1.6. :shock: I also had a loadout of 4 AIM-7s and 4 AIM-9s, so clean might have been faster.
  12. The box art isn't any different, however I noticed the CD is more gray than blue with the Gold version. From what I've heard, the Wally version was taken off the shelf so hopefully there aren't any left out there. :)
  13. Contact support@strategyfirst.com and they'll give you a fax number where you can send in either your receipt, a scanned copy of your jewel case, or an address where you can send in your Wally CD for a new one. They'll send out the Gold version within 2 to 3 weeks via snail mail. *didn't know where to insert this up there, but you can also scan said items and send them via email to that address too.*
  14. "Bunz out the Oven"

    Congratulations! Another couple years and you too will have a shoulder troll while you fly!
  15. Go into your profile, and where you put your signature http://flightsimmers.net/airbase/rudel/Rangers_Sig.jpg , add a [ img] (without spaces) in front, and [ /img] (without spaces) at the end. Should look like (again, without any spaces): [ img]http://flightsimmers.net/airbase/rudel/Rangers_Sig.jpg[ /img] :)
  16. OMG Ranger, I don't know where to begin! ;) TRUE Wild Weasel missions were started with the USAF F-100 briefly, then tried and tested with the USAF's F-105G, then to the USAF's F-4C, then to the USAF's Advanced Wild Weasel with the all mighty F-4G. You may have heard the F-117 was first "in" during Desert Storm, but in fact it was the F-4G Wild Weasel taking out SAM sites before the stealthy F-117 attacks. Not taking anything away from the Navy's counterpart ie: Intruders, but in this case, Air Force led the way! :) Disclaimer: AF guys are allowed to mess with Squids in interservice rivalries.
  17. We like to call SEAD Weaseling. ;) 8) "Cave Putorium!" http://wildweasels.org/
  18. DOH! :shock: I misread the initial post...my bad. I don't hear those either.
  19. I haven't read Sum Of All Fears, but I did just rent the DVD. It was a little slow in the beginning...or maybe I was tired...so I kind of fell asleep. The nuclear blast booming through my surround sound made me jump up in my seat! I was wide awake after that. :shock:
  20. I see you're from 29 Palms. That skin would really look sweet without the teeth and a big ol WW on the tail from George AFB and a yellow tipped tail for the 561TFS. :D As luck would have it though, the 436th F-4Es with GA (for George AFB) comes stock with the sim. :) The F-4G I was crew chief on (69-7207) was originally an E model from 69-73. It was leased to those crazy Aussies during that time ;) and then became a Wild Weasel (G model). I saw at SimHQ someone mentioned Clark. Did they have teeth? I think Spang (SP) had em. Although about 20 years newer than this time frame, this is still a great looking skin and can't wait to see it in flight.
  21. This might be narrowed down to a surround sound issue. Try setting speakers to "Desktop Stereo Speakers" instead of surround sound and see if it helps. **Assuming you already have them set up for surround sound**
  22. Folks need to understand that the NDA we signed is a powerful, very legal document. I've been beta testing for three months and all the while biting my tongue because I'd like to tell so much about it but can't. You can ask all the questions you want, but don't get too discouraged because they can't all be answered. Things are looking up though! :D
  23. Hmmm, seeing DIANE got me to thinking (I know that can be scary at times). I haven't heard Bitchin Betty at all, and I never really thought about it until now. I'm not sure when they introduced her, but she's played a big part in my jet sim career. For those who don't know Betty, maybe this will help: "Altitude...Altitude..." "Pull Up.....Pull Up..." And my personal favorite, because I feel she really is talking to me: "Fire...Fire....." :shock:
  24. <S> Dagger and the VMFA-312 Checker Boards! Welcome aboard from the 87FIS Red Bulls. Hopefully when this sim gets all ironed out we'll be seeing you and yours in the virtual skies for friendly competition. :twisted: Col Weasel XO 87th Fighter Interceptor Squadron http://www.combatflightsim.net/
