How to get trackir 4 profiles working with trackir 5
Rugbyfan1972 posted a topic in WOFF UE/PE - General Discussion
Hi, I have trackir 5 currently using the 2.41 driver version (checked using device manager). I have downloaded a couple of profiles from this forum (Pol's and Creaghorn) which are using trackir 4. I am unable to get my version of trackir (using software version 5.0) to recognise them. I have put them in the correct folder c:\programsx86\naturalpoint\trackir5\profiles, I know this works for trackir 5 profiles as I have 2 that Olham kindly let me use from his setup and they work without any problems. Could someone please advise how I can adjust these profiles so that they will work with trackir5. -
UKW, I think the advice was to set the affinity to single core as CFS3 was designed when dual/quad core processors were unheard of. I think that is one way to improve performance in OFF. Probably someone more knowledgeable can help you with better advice.

JRH8, I had to reinstall OFF on my W7 64-bit machine recently as I was having problems with a key binding not working as it had. After 3 reinstalls where it kept the key bindings I uninstalled, and did some digging on my machine. Try the following Uninstall CFS3 and OFF first and thenlook in C:\Users\(your name)\Appdata\Roaming\Microsoft and deleting the CFSWW1 Over Flanders Fields folder and then rebooting your machine. That fixed the problem for me.

How do different countries remember the victims of war
Rugbyfan1972 posted a topic in WOFF UE/PE - General Discussion
Hi, I was in my local pub last night (Lancashire, England), and the talk got around to Armistice day as in the UK it is commemorated every 11th November at 11.00am with either a minutes silence, or in recent years a two minutes silence, which as you all know is when the First World War officially ended, and do other countries support it/remember the fallen of various wars. A couple of the people I was talking to were not sure if it is commemorated in other contries. So my question(s) are as follows. Does your country have a day of remembrance, and if so could you please give the name, date and time of day that it is officially commemorated.? I would like to expand the knowledge of these people as they were interested in the little information that I was able to give them. i.e. ANZAC day is the 15th April in Australia (and I think New Zealand, but if someone could confirm this I would be grateful), and the USA's version is called Veterans day and I think is on the 11th November. Your assistance is much appreciated. -
Hasse Wind, Especially when he is flying an eindekker. lol

Joystick insensitivity
Rugbyfan1972 replied to RamblingSid's topic in WOFF 1 2 3 / UE - General Help
Rambling Sid, I also have a Saitek Cyborg Evo Force. If I may share my experiences using the above joystick. You have probably tried the suggestions below, but just in case you have not thought of them. Do you ever unplug the joystick and then plug it back in without setting it up in windows game controller? The reason that I ask this question is that I have noticed on my system if I do that, the control inputs are "all over the shop", particularly the throttle and rudder ones. When you start at the field before you start the engine, move the joystick through all its axis (including the throttle and rudder), as without doing this it can again make the aircraft seem unresponsive/awkward to fly -
Mike, Don't you think just flying a sopwith camel is dangerous enough without someone trying to kill him as well?
-
UKW, I agree with your sentiments there - but on having a quick look at play.com, a region 1 copy of the 1938 Errol Flynn version is available for £9.55, and ebay has other copies available as well including a region 2 version for £15,95.

TV or Monitor advice again please
Rugbyfan1972 replied to UK_Widowmaker's topic in WOFF UE/PE - General Discussion
UKW, Scan do a 27" monitor for under £270 (and certainly when i purchased a 22" monitor they did next day delivery), http://www.scan.co.u...0-300-cd-m2-2ms You will have to purchase a hdmi cable separately, but they also sell those. -
Von Paulus, I am slightly confused, I have looked at realtemp as posted in your link, and the documentation states that it does not work on AMD processors - yet you have advised Tranquillo to use it to test his temps? Does this mean that you have found it to work satisfactorily and give accurate temp readings on AMD CPU's?

Looking for an all-red Albatros...
Rugbyfan1972 replied to Hauksbee's topic in WOFF UE/PE - General Discussion
I am sure I have stumbled across an all red Halberstadt probably a DII shown as being flown by MVR in the last 6 months (sorry ca't remember any info other than I was flying a sopwith pup or 1 1/2 strutter which would put it as late 1916). If anyone can confirm this I would be interested in knowing the date. -
Who loves the Fokker D-VIII?
Rugbyfan1972 replied to Hauksbee's topic in WOFF UE/PE - General Discussion
Creaghorn, From your quote above, I take it you think the sopwith camel is easy to fly? If so you will be only the second person on this forum (after RAFL) who has admitted to mastering the camel. I know I haven't, although I can now put an aircraft into a spin at willl and recover from a spin at what feels like ground level - so it is not all bad. lol -
The Victories & Losses of the 15 top-scoring Jastas
Rugbyfan1972 replied to Olham's topic in WOFF UE/PE - General Discussion
Olham, That is a very interesting and informative graph that you have made, like Shiloh I would be interested if you could do one for the 15 highest scoring addied units. I would however like to suggest one addition to your german graph and to the allied if you can make one for them as well, could you post the dates the Jasta/squadron became active ane when it ceased being active (assuming this was not 11am 11/11/1918). Keep up the good work. -
What would Manfred say to this?
Rugbyfan1972 replied to Olham's topic in WOFF UE/PE - General Discussion
I gave up after 41 seconds of listening to the song - that is one bad song. Manfred would have probably let moritz deal with snoopy - now that would be a dogfight. -
Seeing as they always say 2 weeks, my guess is one of the following dates: 02/02/2012, 22/02/2012, 02/02/2222 or 22/02/2222. lol

If you enjoyed Goshaws Squadron, then I would recommend the 2 prequels to it, War Story set in 1916 and Hornets Nest set in 1917.

RAFL, I didn't realise Kanye West was that big. LOL -
Javito1986, I rremember seeing this somewhere in the past, but I fear it was something that UncleAl posted, and which has now been deleted. Hopefully someone else has the information, as I would also be interested.

Shiloh, Not sure if this is relevant when using vista, win7 or even xp, but I remember reading somewhere back in the mists of time (I think I was using win98, so that would make it at least 7 years ago), that if you have a second HDD putting the windows swap file on that one speeds up the time windows takes to do things. Of course Parky, Von Paulus or any of our resident tech experts will be able to give much better advice on this.

P4 DEVELOPMENT SCREENSHOTS
Rugbyfan1972 replied to Polovski's topic in WOFF UE/PE - General Discussion
Olham, I agree with that completely, I was just having a bit of off topic humour. By the way thank you for giving the german translations for Jasta, RAF and RFC, I found your reply very informative and interesting. I have not and will not be taking it personally, I have always found you to be a very helpful and informative person, like many others on this forum. Anyway back to topic, can we have an e.t.a. on the preview videos for P4 (or on the release date). Devs keep up the good work, and I can't wait to see and buy the finished product. And your aftersales support puts all the commercial software houses to shame. (I may have overdone the praise slightly, Pol will be accusing me of being a fanboy) LOL -
P4 DEVELOPMENT SCREENSHOTS
Rugbyfan1972 replied to Polovski's topic in WOFF UE/PE - General Discussion
GAS? I'm not flying for any GAS - I fly for the Deutsche Luftstreitkräfte. Afraid from a Mosquito? Huh - my Albatros can turn much tighter! First he'd need to hit me! Hehehe! Olham, I assume Deutsche Luftstreitkräfte.translates as "German Air Service" (an assumption from seeing GAS on these pages so many times). As for the he'd need to hit me comment, I suggest we let Hellshade fly the mosquito, that way he will only fire when the barrels of the guns are actually touching your pillots neck. lol Time to give the germans a taste of being outgunned. LOL -
P4 DEVELOPMENT SCREENSHOTS
Rugbyfan1972 replied to Polovski's topic in WOFF UE/PE - General Discussion
Flyby Pc, You actually mean (assuming you are taking 1918) P4 +23 to get the mosquito, as it entered service in 1941 (sorry I can get quite picky on the minor details). But honestly do you think it is playing fair putting a twin engined machin with 6 machine gune + 4 cannon against an albatros or a fokker (or are you looking to rewrite "bloody april")? You will give Olham nightmares when he is flying a GAS career. LOL
