A1E Skyraider Skins
Corktip_14 replied to Syrinx's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 1 Series - Mods/Skinning Discussion
Sounds like a deal Mike! The wings are already done, since I could use your super AD template for them. I'm on to build a fuselage template by now, and to have something that fits well with the wings one. It's on it's way! -
A1E Skyraider Skins
Corktip_14 replied to Syrinx's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 1 Series - Mods/Skinning Discussion
Hey mate, instead of playing it Casanova, why don't you go ahead with the skins? (Joke only!) But more seriously, if you're on something with th skins, go for it, I'm a bit "overworked" those times, lots of skins I'm working on, included the Spitfires one I've shown you for IL2. Still gotta do the Spitfire IXe, Vb and Ia for my Squadron, as well as some 109... So iy could take a long long time to complete the A-1e skins for me. And Nicky, to concur with what Mike said, I must admit that it's pretty refreshing to see a girl who like to virtualy put her ass in an old stinky-oil stained-war battled Skyraider! Edit: An a quick image to show you what I've done to the poor IL2 Spitfire IXc! -

Corktip_14 posted a topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 1 Series - Mods/Skinning Discussion
Ok guys, third and last thread for the moment, this one will be consacred to the 3rd skinpack, depicting planes of the USMC used in the dynamic campaign. We allready have VMF(AW)-312, so it only left three squadrons to be done, and here's the first: VMF(AW)-235 Death Angels, Da Nang, 1967: -

F-8E Skinpack 3 USMC
Corktip_14 posted a topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 1 Series - File Announcements
File Name: F-8E Skinpack 3 USMC File Submitter: Corktip_14 File Submitted: 30 Jan 2008 File Category: F-8 Here's the third skinpack for the MF's F-8E. I depicts the 3 missing USMC units used in the stock campaign flying the F-8E: - VMF(AW)-212 Lancers, CVW-16, USS Oriskany, 1966. The Lancer's CO, Lt/Col Charles Ludden, became the first USMC aviator at the top of an embarqued Air Wing since WW2 when Cdr James Stockdale was shot down in 1966. - VMF(AW)-232 Red Devils, MAG-12, Da Nang, 1966. - VMF(AW)-235 Death Angels, MAG-12, Da Nang, 1967. The dirtiest and most elaborately decorated Crusaders ever seen in South-East Asia! With this third skinpack, every F-8 units in the stock Rolling Thunder campaign is now covered, except VF-24, wish should be released with the F-8C. Hop you'll enjoy! Maybe mate, maybe, but I'm nothing near a gentleman, and if I don't like someone, for whatever reason, sometime just as thin as a feeling, I will have no mercy for him/her is he/she's doing something wrong. That's the way I am, like it or not.

I'll call it... Alan Parson's Project... MUWAHAHAHAHAHAHA

I'm behind our Beloved President with that. I just hate her, she's not even human to my eyes, just some kind of stupid plastic artefact. IMHO, some people doesn't deserve the right to be well considerated, and she's one of them. I hate people like her, exposing her life in public, with not a single trace of shame, and being outrageously rich when she couldn't even sing, going all her life in drugs and alcohol, making kids without the single idea how to raise them well and give them a good example. That's nearly criminal to me. That's not what I call an artist.

All done!! VMF(AW)-212 supporting US Marines encercled near Khe Sanh, 1966. The unit was stationned aboard USS Oriskany, and when Cdr. James Stockdale was shot down, Lt/Col Charles Ludden, CO, replaced him as the CAG of Air Wing 16, becoming the first Marines at the top of a carrier Air Group since the end of WW2. Pack 3 will be uploaded this afternoon, and with it, every F-8 squadrons used in the stock campaign will be done, except VF-24 wich should be released with the F-8C. -
Not a miracle mate, just a friggin' nightmare...

So, here we go: VF-111 F-8C aboard USS Oriskany, 1967, largely based on C5's skin, only changed the colors and the different codes: And my favorite, VF-24 aboard USS Bon Homme Richard, '67 cruise, four Mig-17's down. Here the plane of Cdr Marion "Red" Isaackx, XO of VF-24, one of the four Mig Killers of 21 July 1967:
