Wrong. You CAN have a different data file, but if it is different the client will use the hosts. That means if the host has made his F-86 into a UFO then you'll all be flying UFO's, but it's better than one person having an advantage. ;) Cheers -
How long has everyone been waiting?

Do you think it's easy to install skin ?
Armourdave replied to tango's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 1 Series - Mods/Skinning Discussion
The url is http://www.sfp1.is.dreaming.org It's a rhetorical question ranger. He's posting about a tool that removes the need to edit the file. Cheers -

If everything is working (it's not) then the client has to have every addon aircraft the host has. If the host has "f-4, a-4, f-104, f-100 and F-105" then the client must also have these addons. The client can also have other aircraft installed. I've had mixed results in multiplayer, generally I've found the launcher to work best. Cheers p.s CET is GMT+1 right? -

RAF Aircraft
Armourdave replied to brummy's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 1 Series - General Discussion
Marcelo has painted some RAF F-4 skins. http://www.marcfighters.hpg.ig.com.br/index.htm To be honest you wont see any RAF aircraft wtih realistic cockpits for some time. I've been wanting to build a Hawker Hunter F.6 and FGA.9 for a long long time, but its not possible without some cockpit diagrams. Even after contacting many websites, restoration groups and searching the internet I've found nothing. Cheers -
SFP1 download section - models
Armourdave posted a topic in Site Support / Bug Reports / Suggestions
Hey Jeff, Would it be possible to re-organize the SFP1 models download section? It seems kind weird to put all the aircraft in a "models" section. An "aircraft addon" section would seem more logical. Thanks :) Cheers -

I'd like to take this chance to thank all the people (1079 from biohaz :D) that have downloaded it and given support! Cheers! 8) -
One More MK.32 Skin for you
Armourdave replied to Dave's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 1 Series - General Discussion
Now that's a SWEET skin. -
Thankfully, the RAF pilots during DS2 were told that if they had even a shadow-of-a-doubt as to whether there was or was not civilians in a target area they were absolutely NOT to attack. Cheers.
-
Dont quite follow, but using cluster munitions in civilian areas is what I would consider unacceptable. Agreed. I doubt they are counting those. Cheers :)
-
Did a quick google and found the correct url is: http://www.iraqbodycount.net/ I think you'd be a little bit odd if you "liked cluster bombs". Cluster bombs seem to go against the years or research and billions of dollars spent on developing precision guided munitions. Yep they're effective as hell but the cost to human life may be unacceptable. IMO it's good that people document the deaths on all sides, just as it's vital we document all conflicts and wars. Aslong as they've got their facts and figures right I dont have a problem with this site.

Beer's U.S. Navy Hydrofoil (Pegasus Class) Now shoots!
Armourdave replied to Hawker's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 1 Series - Mods/Skinning Discussion
Nah. I've experimented with that optimize modifier but unless you are optimizing a simple, high-poly shape like for example a sphere or 20 sided cylinder it doesnt seem to work too well. Maybe it requires a 100% sealed mesh. Not sure. Cheers -

Not so logical for a simulation engine where everything else is done in meters. :) cheers -

Armourdave replied to Hawker's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 1 Series - Mods/Skinning Discussion
Looks excelent! Regarding lowering the poly count: 7200 is kinda high for a ship. Best way to lower poly counts is to change the perspective viewport to wireframe and look for the dense areas. Remember to never use more than a 10 sided cylinder and I imagine the gunturret and radar(?) sphere have a huge amount of polys. I'd be happy to look through the model and see which areas could do with optimizing. Cheers :) -

Odd. I've not had any problems with that variable. It's in m/sec not knots btw. -
Agreed! Running a large, expensive website for 0 profit says something about MJ and Co! One thing I really like about biohaz compared to simhq is that you guys actually post community news, smihq seems to post only commercial product based news. Cheers

I tried F-18 pacific strike fighter a while back and it was kinda cool. Had the right balance of realism vs gameplay. So, here's hoping this is a good-en. :)

SU-17 ?
Armourdave replied to DerBayer's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 1 Series - Mods/Skinning Discussion
Aircraft dont stay in service for 30 + years unless they have some sort of redeeming quality! The Su-17/22 has been in service since 1970 and remains in service in many nations. I've read reports of many pilots who actually prefer it to the Su-25 for the ground attack role. Crude it is, but highly regarded for its tough, sturdy qualities. I dont know what it is that attracts me to the Su-17 so much. I think it's because it's a lot like a Soviet thud. Big, heavy, single engine, but fast as hell attack aircraft with an attitude! An agressor squadron would be excellent. Russkie tend to be the guy to ask when it comes to soviet equipment and tactics. Cheers :) -
