  1. Okay, I just thought this was cool looking. I can't wait to walk down a real flightline like this in a few years!
  2. Ouch. Thanks guys, The plan is going to be to do CTOL F-35A first, and once I get the Flight Model and avionics up to speed, it'll be released. Then I'll move on to the F-35C (Carrier Variant) and finally the F-35B (STOL), unless I die of a brain embelism.
  3. Just a quick door position check. Landing gears are done, and quite complicated, I hope I don't have to kill too many of the details I just added to make it work in game. I promise you guys: I will NOT halfass this aircraft! Which, Silverbolt, will mean a new Pilot Model for the crazy Master Chief helmet. Cheers,
  4. Dag nabit! Looks like I have to get this thread back on topic! Wheel wells and weapon bays cut, and doors ready to go! And for those who said I didn't get anything done this weekend... -Burp

English Language Wingman Sound Mod by Adam Burch Installation: Simply place the contents of the Speech folder in the zip file into your wov/woe/woi speech folder. Backup your Speech folder first. Notes: 1. All 3 wingman voices are the same for now, but I believe them to be slightly less annoying. You may disagree, hence; BACKUP YOUR SPEECH FOLDER prior to installation! 2.Some callsigns have been changed, Awacs is now DARKSTAR, reflecting more modern AWACS call signs. A forthcoming AWACS speech pack will address the AWACS voice. 3.The radio may be a bit loud for you It comes in loud and clear over my (quiet) engine noises, so you may want to turn down your sound effects. I never really needed to hear much beyond my sidewinder tone and RWR anyway. All other speech is quiet by comparison. 4. This is a BETA release, so please email or PM me with any problems or suggestions, just remember: It's a BETA! All other speech packs forthcoming. (i.e. when I bloody well get to 'em!) :) Enjoy! -Klavs81
  6. Driving me nuts!

    Yep, got me too! AAaaaugh!
  7. Quick update. All external surfaces have been reworked to provide the best accuracy possible of a Production F-35 (Obviously subject to change), based on cross checking pics of AA-01, BF-01, 3d Renders, Mockups, tea leaves and small animal entrails. Note the Inboard weapon bay "Humps", now in the correct location, and the sawtooth engine surfaces. BF-01 has a LOT of little teeth prior to the engine, and it was a pain to get an accurate count!
  8. Well, fortoutiously, I noticed my NDA on this one has an expiration date! So I can release this pic. Honestly, I completely forgot about this one, but I imagine it would take fairly little to get it into the engine, it's mostly good to go already. Perhaps I'll use it as a way to try and learn the import process, but I'm still working hard on the 35. Cheers!
  9. I'll tell you guys what. After the F-35, I'll make it my priority. I actually still do have a lower poly version I can probably adapt.
  10. See, that's what I love about this community. It's much more rewarding to work with people who have actual experience (sometimes direct, sometimes indirect) with the real deal. Love it.
  11. Thanks for the encouragement guys, I just got tired of serverandenforcer to get off his lazy SF butt and get to work again on his 35! (Actually, you inspired me to finally get mine done!) And the B-1, while pretty, I admit, is about 8 trillion polys and gives even my smoking new rig epileptic seizures! I may try to reduce it someday, though I don't TECHNICALLY own the rights to it!

  14. F-35A

Lesson learned about buying models online. The Turbosquid F-35A JSF model, also availible here http://www.the3dstudio.com/product_details...d_product=16872 may look good, but notice you'll only see shots from above. There is no detail on the bottom, no main wheel wells or doors, no weapon bays or doors, the general outline is incorrect, the engine is brown, no detail in the cockpitm ect. There is screwy geometry over the whole of the model, the preview images must either be photoshopped, or they're using a render routine that renders a set of enormous spikes as a smooth surface. Bah. Lesson: Always model your own stuff! -A
  15. F-35A

Looks like the thread topic is drifting a bit, but if anyone is interested in the JSF, here's an article on the F-35's helmet system, and it looks like master chief from halo. http://www.flightglobal.com/articles/2007/...y-revealed.html
  16. Like I said. Big liquid fueled rocket engines to get up to mach, the hollow square area underneath is the scramjet. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Scramjet Nothing like going mach 6 with your hair on fire...
  17. I'd say somewhere around 50 meters or so. I sized the ejection seats to roughly the same size, and scaled up from the F-16. She's a big girl The cockpit window is very small, but there's plenty of room in there. More like a space capsule than an aircraft. -A
  18. Whups, nevermind I've got it working. Whoohoo! Blue water ops!
  19. F-35A

I'm really diggin' this thread. The F-35 was one of the first models I ever attempted back when I was first learning to REALLY model. (Talk about your steep learning curves) Back then, all I had to go off of for production F-35s was the little 1/72 Resin model from the Lockheed Martin Gift Shop, and THESE: http://wcsaga.hard-light.net/team/Klavs/F-35a.zip Maybe some higher resolution 3 views will help you out. They sure did me. And now I want to redo my model again, maybe give you some friendly competition! :) Anyway, great work. It takes courage to model such a subtly complex aircraft in the face of so much criticism of the aircraft itself. Nice to meet another who appreciates the potential operational value of this keystone aircraft instead of running down the plane based soley on its external features. Processing power and data gathering is 75% of the fight these days. Cheers, -A
  20. Hmm, I seem to be missing an aircraft carrier... Running WOV, with many addons, but can't get carrier based missions to start with a carrier present, so I start off sitting in the water.
