  1. OK heres some developments for the Typhoon pit, I am concentrating on Avionics right now (HUD and RADAR) p.s. USAFMTL, I can't seem to PM you, I was wondering if your guys have looked at the FM yet?
  2. I have the same problem with the FMk3, and I have applied the fix listed above and even tried the ini files from the spanish thread, all to no avail, I still get a CTD as the aircraft is loading
  3. You must have been reading my mind Fastcargo, I was litterally just thinking today that the knowledge base need updating. Count me in.
  4. I think I almost understand what hide is saying in the last post, and I think it is the same idea I was having, could it be possible to make a weapon or other store with a smoke emitter effect, Imagine if you could, having 3 with different coloured smoke which can be selected individually and we have the beginings of an airshow mod
  5. I haven't taken any lately, but if you hang on, I will have some cockpit shots coming soon
  6. Come on guys, lets get back on topic, This thread is all about marvelling over my superb efforts creating the Typhoon
  7. Yes I hope to make it work for all in the series, in theory it will by default I believe. Good news on the Typhoon front, I have gained help from some folks here to work on this project with me, so hopefully with the load off the release date will be sooner.
  8. Makes you think how far from the truth films like terminator or I-robot are
  9. Congrats to Nicky! and I just noticed I am now a design modder, I go and watch 'Rattatouille' ( I loved the film) on DVD and come back and theres promotions all round.
  10. Whenever I hear the term 'ugly' used to describe aircraft like the skyraider and A-10 I couldn't disagree enough, I understand why the description is used, but it's a relative thing, both aircraft are of unusual shape and configuration compared to the jets they served alongside, but in my eyes both aircraft are genuinely beautifull (not just speaking as a fan) theire not my favourite aircraft but I do love'em. Anyway I wanted to ask from the Skyraider gurus if the Royal Navy ever used a cool version of the skyraider? i.e one that wasn't used for airborne radar.
  11. I think the real question everyone want's to know is, How does an attractive 22 year old woman end up here at all? this kind of thing is the sole reserve of us geeks, ageing, overweight etc.. etc.. Still no one is complaining I guess
  12. Yes I got the info I need for the HUD thanks
  13. That is a very sobering comment, I am ashamed I entered the debate, I feel dirty, need a shower.
  14. Sparko, I agree with you the Typhoon Vs F-22 dogfight test needs proof, It seems to be a rumour that spread across many forums (youtube was a classic example) read any thread related to Typhoon and the same debate crops up over and over.......but........I wouldn't be surprised if the Typhoon actually did have an edge on manoverability, all irrelevant I know, the F-22 is invisible (to radar, not the naked eye or even IR) therefore at distance the raptor will kill most things before they have a chance to turn and burn against it, my argument for the Typhoons agility is an uneducated guess, but I feel that the F-22 MUST have an achiles heel and I would not be surprised that if a Raptor was ever caught by an evasive enemy that survives the long range engagement could possibly (in the hands of the right driver) take the Raptor down with guns or maybe an IR missile (the heat signiature is still there even if very small), My uneducated belief is that there must be a compromise on aerodynamics with the stealth airframe shape (the Typhoon looks right therefore must fly right) the Raptor while being as sexy as hell like most US aircraft ,lacks the ferrariesque style of the european machine. Please don't take my response wrong, the Raptor and Typhoon will most likely allways be fighting on the same side therefore who cares which is better? I love both machines on their merrits.
  15. Yes I just noticed this got stickyed it gives me a warm glow and sense of accomplishment, now I feel a sense of urgent obligation to get the Typhoon going This year, I promise
  16. Well funny you should ask, we do spend alot of time just buzzing stuff for the hell of it, my personal favourites so far are sneaking up on a pair of jet skiers who were racing and I flew between them, I got a chance to glance back and see the looks on their faces, and in the summer when the ladies are out in force we have been given some very pleasant waves as we go by on our coastal runs (fond memories of the tyniest blue bikiny on the hottest blonde ever and the top half being lifted....twice...when we wen't around for another look) but the top gear and 3 men in a boat were set up, in fact the 3 men programme was more set up than you might imagine, I have it on good authority that they didn't sail the boat all the way, the whole event was staged, they drove to each location while another crew sailed the boat, and then they just did some filming at each location. Anyway back on topic, I am surprised (pleasantly) by the response this idea has got, I have to say I have grown fond of the Islander and I am glad that people who normally you would assume only interested in fast pointy things appreciate it too.
  17. Well low flying is the best part of the job, I get a nosebleed above 500' , we even fly low level at night(without the aid of night vision) we just hold 200' on the rad alt and pray that there is nothing big in the way but that is over the sea only so I guess there won't be too many objects 201 feet high
  18. heres Jeremy giving a wave, sadly I was on days off that day and my boss did the flight, althought I was on telly recently on Three men in another boat.
  19. JimmyBib, I am based at Manston airport in Kent, operating for Dover coastguard. Yes the Islander was and is used by a few military operators and yes they even strapped exploding stuff to them COOOL!!!, UK army air corps operate them, in fact most of them are out in the Ghan I think, the belgian army used them too, I got to meet some of the belgian Islander crews as they fly the Belgian equivalent to us with the North sea survey aircraft (ex-army aircraft) operated by civilians flown by current military pilots.
  20. Every time I read this thread, I feel ashamed of my EF-2000, it just looks so amateur in comparison
  21. Hi Folks, Hope the new year has started well for you all, just thought I would post to let everyone know I haven't given up on this model, I have also come by some very very usefull stuff to help me progress, of course I won't have anything further for the next 2 weeks Craig
  22. What a pleasant surprise!! Thanks guys Despite being another year closer to death and suffering from a cold, it's been a nice day, just waiting to tuck-in to my cake now as long as I can still see after being blinded by all the candles.
  23. Hi Guys, Wow!! I wasn't expecting this topic to heat up the way it did, I had my vacation, and a good break it was, but as you may all know, life has a habbit of making sure there is a lot to catch up with, like sorting out the computer which started running really badly, so I re-formatted, but don't worry, all my work is backed up, the project is still ongoing, sadly I don't think it will make a christmas present. Thanks to all the guys who respect a modders efforts and time, and for all those who are keen to see this project, don't worry, I am just as keen to give it to a great community like this one. Craig
  24. Yes, that is the alphasim typhoon I think, I don't think it represents the real hud very well, there is a video on youtube I am using to get some detail on the hud, I think the hud the previous sim super ef-2000 is closer to the real one. I am going on a short vacation, so for the next week I don't have to touch an aircraft (real or sim) and just sit back in a hot tub with some booze...aaahhhhh!
