  1. kampfwolf: It would help to know: 1) What patch level you're at 2) What SF2 games you have as part of your install base Eric Howes
  2. WhiteBoySamurai: Thanks. I actually updated most of the same weapons in the Hotfix 4 for ODS that was released several weeks ago. Would be interesting to compare what each of us came up with. Note that the Hotfix contains both pre-SF2NA versions and SF2NA versions of the same weapons, so that those without SF2NA get versions that are roughly consistent. Eric Howes
  3. mynameismatt: I just checked the A-7s -- I don't see a problem. The A-7s have had fueltanknodenames since the start of SF2,and they are properly called out in the DATA.INIs. Eric Howes
  4. mynameismatt: The tank problem with the A-6s is fixed in the Jan 2012 update. The A-7 tank issue is new -- again, probably because TK re-updated the models to include the tanks. I'll take a closer look later this evening. Eric Howes
  5. Turtlehawk: Glad to hear that you got it worked out. Eric Howes
  6. billyd7447: I would try reinstalling the mod from scratch, including the Hotfix 4that was released for it. Also, ensure that you've updated the custom .EXE that you're using to start the mod. Each new ThirdWire patch updates the main .EXEs for the game, which means you need to update the custom .EXEs that you created off of them as well. Eric Howes
  7. schurem: Again, odd, because I have the same effect in several installs. As with Dave's problem effects, I'm not getting any CTDs because of it. The effect does need to be updated to use the latest shaders, though. Eric Howes
  8. ataribaby: Yes, those are the two backup folders that I mentioned. If you installed Hotfix 4 correctly you should have both folders, along with the \_water folder as sub-folders of your Terrains\DS folder. But none of those folders is actually used by the game -- they simply contain backups and alternate versions of some files. Eric Howes
  9. Dave: I have both of those effects in my Effects folder, yet I'm not getting CTDs at 30 percent. Is it possible the versions you have are not updated to use SF2 effects shaders? Eric Howes
  10. ataribaby: There's a \_water folder (included in Hotfix 4) that contains alternate versions of the water shader. If you installed the SF2NA files from the Hotfix, there are also two folders that contain backups of three key terrain files -- one set for non-SF2NA installs, the other for SF2NA installs. Those are the only "inner folders" that I'm aware of. Eric Howes
  11. ataribaby: The F-7A cockpit display problem can indeed be fixed by editing the DATA.INI as you did. As for coastlines, it's hard to tell from the angle of screenshot you supplied, but that looks like it may be the same problem that was addressed in Hotfix 4. If you already have Hotfix 4 installed, then you should double-check that it's installed correctly -- i.e., no nested files & directories. If the Hotfix is isntalled correctly, then I would investigate the settings for your graphics card. Eric Howes
  12. Desert Storm Part 1 For SF2

Folks: There is an Update package available here that should address all of the issues raised in these comments: http://combatace.com/topic/71944-update-1-for-sf2e-ods/ The update package also includes a number of updated models, including aircraft, ships, and other ground objects. Also, please don't post bug reports in the comments here. Post them either in the announcement thread for this file (see the "Get support for this file" button above) or in one of the main SF2 forums. Eric Howes
  13. TurtleHawk: You don't need SF2NA but it's supported if it is part of your target install base. As for installation, best advice I can give is to follow the instructions in the ReadMe. Don't pick and choose by date -- just follow the instructions. Eric Howes
  14. TurtleHawk: You can try the files that were posted here: http://combatace.com/topic/71869-desert-storm-part-1-for-sf2/page__view__findpost__p__567742 Those same files are included in Hotfix 4. If you're going to post notice of a problem, it would be helpful to know what patch level you're on and whether you have SF2NA merged into your install base. Eric Howes
  15. Viggen: Honestly, I have no idea what is causing that CTD, which could be any number of things. Best advice I can offer is to reinstall if the CTDs continue. Eric Howes
  16. Mikeone: See this post for the fix: http://combatace.com/topic/71869-desert-storm-part-1-for-sf2/page__view__findpost__p__571077 Eric Howes
  17. usafphantom2: The ReadMe doesn't mention "downloading" the KC-135. It lists the KC-135 because it's included in the Expansion Pack. Eric Howes
  18. murad: Open your Options.INI and replace the Campaign section with this data: [Campaign] CampaignName=19910117 Desert Storm PlayerService=USAF PlayerUnit=336th TFS AircraftType=F-15E Difficulty=NORMAL Length=NORMAL AircraftSupply=NORMAL WeaponSupply=NORMAL LoadCampaign=FALSE CampaignSavename=DefaultCampaignSave Eric Howes
  19. Wilches: The stated minimum requirement for this mod is Mar2012 patch level. You can either upgrade to the minimum level or convert the JPGs to BMPs. Eric Howes
  20. Wrench: I will be doing an update to that pack at some point to incorporate new skins -- Paulopanz expressed an interest in doing some. I'll add the position light fixes at the same time. Eric Howes
  21. billyd7447: The install process for the mod and for the hotfix is simple: grab the folders from within the \To_Mods_Folder directory and drop them in to your Mods folder. Folders will overwrite folders. Sub-folders will voerwrite sub-folders. And files will over write files. If you have SF2NA installed, then the same process applies to the contents on the \For_SF2NA directory in the main mod as well as the hotfix.. If you're still experiencing problem, then one or both of the following is true: 1) The files from the Hotfix weren't installed correctly; 2) The SF2NA Hotfix files weren't installed correctly or weren't installed at all. The updated carrier files that resolve your issue with aircraft sinking into the carrier deck are in the \For_SF2NA folder. Somehow those files are not getting to where they need to be. Eric Howes
  22. Wilches: The minimum requirement for this mod is the Mar2012 patch level. If you are unwilling to upgrade to that patch level, you could try converting the skins to BMP format. Eric Howes
  23. billyd7447: For your first problem, locate these three files in your Mods folder: \Objects\Aircraft\FA-18C\Cockpit\F-4E_HUDREFLECTION.TGA \Objects\Aircraft\FA-18C\Cockpit\F86_REFLECTION1.tga \Objects\Aircraft\FA-18C\Cockpit\F86_REFLECTION2.tga Remove or rename the files and the background image on the HUD will disappear. For your second problem, download and apply the Hotfix available here: http://combatace.com...4-for-sf2e-ods/ That Hotfix resolves the issue you describe plus a number of other minor problems in the original release. Be sure to look over the included ReadMe for installation instructions and important notes. Eric Howes
  24. Stratos: I am in the process of updating the ships in the Falklands '82 mod for the Mar/Apr2012 patch levels. Once finished, the update should solve that problem. Eric Howes
  25. eddie01: That's a known bug with the latest patches (Apr2012, Mar2012) -- not anything we can fix. You may see that on any AI-controlled aircraft. Eric Howes
