  1. Pfunk: Much appreciated. We've found a few minor things so far. I'll probably be uploading a HotFix package in the next day or so. Eric Howes
  2. AJTucker: You need at minimum SF2E patched to Mar2012. All topics related to installation are covered in the ReadMe. Eric Howes
  3. DoctorQuest: Thanks for the report. This bug will be fixed in an update. Eric Howes
  4. Pfunk: We appreciate the interest in doing a review. Would it be possible to get a few days to see if any major bugs shake out as users get their hands on it? We did perform extensive testing before release, but with a mod of this size it's almost inevitable that we missed things that intrepid users here at CA will find. We can can get patches out very quickly -- within hours if the problem is simple enough. Thanks, Eric Howes
  5. WhiteBoySamurai: Small problem with the guns, if I'm not mistaken. Gun8 is not called out as a SystemName on the Hull or any of the Superstructures. Gun2, by turns, is called out twice -- once on the Hull, and once again on Superstructure1. I take it the cause of both problems is a mismatch between Gunners and Guns. Gun1 & Gun2 use Gunner1; Gun3 uses Gunner2, etc. The Guns and Gunners are correctly matched in the Gunner and Gun sections, but not correctly matched at the Hull/Superstructure level. Best, Eric Howes
  6. Guys: Is there a wing fold animation on the A-6E TRAM by Monty_CZ & wpnssgt -- the model released in 2005? If so, does anyone know the AnimationID for the wing fold? Thanks, Eric Howes
  7. Wrench: Wing-fold AnimationID = 7 Canopy AnimationID = 8 Eric Howes
  8. Wrench: Thanks for the information. As for the mod in question, SF2NA cannot and will not be a pre-requisite, so the third-party TRAM will be used. Eric Howes
  9. MSPV12: If none of those aircraft is showing where you're looking (and they should all be there) then you're either looking in the wrong place or you didn't install the expansion pack correctly. At the very least you should find an A-6A folder, as that's a stock SF2V aircraft. Try searching your hard drive for one of the folder names. You just might find the others there as well. Eric Howes

----------------------------------------------------------------------------- SF2V Air & Ground Expansion Pack v. 2.1 - VPAF Add-On ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ This is an add-on package for the "Strike Fighters 2: Vietnam Air & Ground Expansion Pack v. 2.1" available at CombatAce. This add-on makes most major aircraft of the Vietnamese People's Air Force (VPAF) flyable with custom third-party cockpits and avionics. It also contains "Red" versions of the three main SF2V campaigns, allowing you to fly VPAF MiGs against opposing USAF, USN, & USMC aircraft. This add-on package is designed to be applied over the top of an existing installation of version 2.1 of the Expansion Pack with the latest update package applied. You can download the four main Expansion Pack files here: Part 1: http://combatace.com/files/file/10189-sf2v-air-ground-war-expansion-pack-v20-gold-part-1/ Part 2: http://combatace.com/files/file/10190-sf2v-air-ground-war-expansion-pack-v20-gold-part-2/ Part 3: http://combatace.com/files/file/10192-sf2v-air-ground-war-expansion-pack-v20-gold-part-3/ Part 4: http://combatace.com/files/file/10193-sf2v-air-ground-war-expansion-pack-v20-gold-part-4/ The latest update package for the Expansion Pack can be found here: Jan. 2012 Update: http://combatace.com/files/file/10466-sf2v-air-ground-war-expansion-pack-v20-jan-2012-update/ You should have the latest updates for the Expansion Pack before applying this add-on package. Please take a look over the remainder of this ReadMe before installing the update. ~~~~~~~~~~~~ Installation ~~~~~~~~~~~~ The installation process has two phases: one for the main add-on files; a second for optional aircraft. Here's how to apply this update package: 1. Ensure that SF2V is properly installed & updated. 2. Ensure that the Expansion Pack v. 2.1 (Mar. 2010) is installed to your SF2V Mod Folder and that the latest update package for the Expansion Pack is applied. 3. Unpack SF2V_AG-XP_v2_VPAF.7z to a safe place on your drive. 4. Drag and drop all the files and folders from within the \To_Mod_Folder to your SF2V Mod Folder, overwriting as prompted. 5. Now open the \Optional directory, which contains different versions of the MiG-17 and MiG-17PF. Note that what you install from the \Optional directory is determined by whether or not your SF2V installation also includes Strike Fighters 2: Europe (SF2E) as part of a "merged install." - MiG-17PF The original Expansion Pack supplies two different versions of the MiG-17PF. By default a third-party "mod" version was installed. Optionally, users with installations that included SF2E could replace the "mod" version with the stock 3rdWire version. The \Optional directory in this add-on package contains updated files for both versions. (Hint: the third-party "mod" version is identified in-game as the MiG-17PF Fresco-E; the stock 3rdWire verison is identified as the MiG-17PF Fresco-D.) Choose the version that you have installed, and apply the updated files for that version to the \Objects\Aircraft directory in your SF2V Mod Folder, overwriting as prompted. - MiG-17 The original Expansion Pack supplies a substitute, optional version of the MiG-17 for those using installations that do not include SF2E. If you installed this optional/substitute version of the MiG-17 (because your install lacks SF2E), then apply the updated files for that version to the \Objects\Aircraft directory in your SF2V Mod Folder, overwriting as prompted. (If your install includes SF2E, then you do not need to install the updates for the substitute version of the MiG-17, as you're using the original 3rdWire version available in SF2E.) That's it. You should be good to go. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ What's Included ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ This add-on package supplies the following updates for your SF2V Expansion Pack install: - cockpits and related files to make most VPAF fighters flyable - new engine sounds for VPAF MiGs - new Hangar & Loading screens for flyable MiGs - "Red" versions of the three main SF2V campaigns: 1. The American War (Rolling Thunder) 2. The Mad Man Nixon (Linebacker I) 3. Dien Bien Phu of the Air (Linebacker II) ~~~~~~~ Credits ~~~~~~~ This update contains new items from the following modders who generously allowed their use: Ordway............................original MiG-17 & MiG-19 cockpits Wrench............................Early MiG Series Cockpit Upgrade/Repair Package Paladrian.........................original MiG-21 cockpits ataribaby.........................MiG-21 Complete Pack for SF2 Raven.............................MiG-19S green cockpit update Spillone104.......................MiG engine sounds For a complete list of modders whose work is used in the complete Expansion Pack, see the ReadMe included in the original Expansion Pack. 11. diegoesteban: The mod has been tested on Nov2011 with a full merge of all SF2 titles, including SF2I. In fact,I'm running that configuration right now. Eric Howes
  12. diegobestan: It runs fine with later patches. The mod was released just after the release of Dec2010, and it's been kept up to date since then. If it were flat out incompatible, we'd have had lots of people reporting it. Eric Howes
  13. steve1070: Don't forget that there are five update packs for NF4+. You can find them in the same download category as the four base files. They should be installed in sequence, and the installation process for each is pretty much the same as the original mod. Eric Howes
  14. steve1070: If Windows didn't prompt you to overwrite, then you didn't do it right. What you've done is create nested folders, which ensures that the game will never find the new NF4+ objects. Do not drop the Objects folder from the Mod onto the Objects folder in your Mod folder. Instead, select the Objects folder and drop it on the Mod folder itself. The same with the other folders -- drop the Flight folder on the Mod folder, and so on. Alternately, you could select all the subfolders of Objects and drag those onto the Objects folder in your Mod folder. That would accomplish the same thing, and you would still be prompted to overwrite. Eric Howes

  16. diegoestaban: The most likely cause is some error in your installation. What that error is, I do not know. My recommendation would be to try reinstalling the mod after giving installation instruction in the ReadMe another look through. Eric Howes
  17. hrc: I haven't seen the MiG-17s behave like that. Next time I do some flying in the mod I will be on the lookout for it. Eric Howes
  18. Sokal: Glad you're enjoying it. The real credit for the mod, of course, goes to Kesselbrut (who authored the original evrsion for SFP1) and the other modders who contributed models and skins and who worked on the terrain. Eric Howes
  19. ColStafford: If you have all the latest updates, then it should run fine on the Nov2011 patch level. Eric Howes
  20. Joe: The white squares you are seeing are likely a product of the model itself, which you will see on SF2 (but not on WOV). I'll take another look, though. As for the USAF F-4 loadouts, I just went through all of our USAF F-4 loadouts, and I don't see any loadouts that put A2G ordnance and Sidewinders both on the inner pylons. The default 3rdWire loadouts use such combinations, but we fixed those (or at least I thought). Which F-4 and which loadout are you seeing this combo on? Please be specific. Eric Howes
  21. DrRaptor: If it's terrain specific, then that points to some problem on your system with the terrain's DATA.INI or its interaction with the EnvironmentSystem.INI. I made no changes to the DATA.INI from the one that appeared in the original OpDarius mod by Wrench. You could try removing the custom EnvironmentSystem.INI and Cloud1.tga from the \Flight folder and see if that makes a difference. What other custom terrains do you have installed in that mod folder? Where did they come from? Eric Howes
  22. DrRaptor: There's something wrong with your installation, then. I don't know what it is -- I've never encountered it, and no one else who has installed this mod has reported it. But there is something wrong if the weather is locked in both Single Missions and Campaign Missions. It might be your particular install of this mod; it might be the underlying install of SF2 that you're working with. The only thing I can suggest is to try a reinstall from scratch. Eric Howes
  23. hrc: What you're seeing is caused by changes in some of the later SF2 patches. The latest cumulative update for the Expansion Pack fixes it. http://combatace.com/topic/52002-sf2v-air-ground-war-expansion-pack-v20-jan-2012-update/ Be sure to look over the installation instructions in the ReadMe. Eric Howes
  24. DrRaptor: Are you flying Single Missions or Campaigns? What patch level are you on? Eric Howes
  25. future_tuskegee_airman: The Expansion Pack doesn't make any changes to the USN F-4 drop tanks. It uses the standard F-4 tanks that the default SF2V install uses. As to why you can't select them, I do not know. What patch level are on you on? When did this start happening? Is this a new install of the Expansion Pack? Single Missions or Campaigns? Eric Howes
