  1. The Chapaev, as well as being inaccurate (as I discovered on locating a good Soviet plan after construction) is really old................... done in the days when lines had to be entered in the GroundObject.ini thingy, which no longer exists. I imagine you'll have to add a couple of lines to the ship's configuration file in the ship folder. Use Eagle's config file as a guide. This might apply to the other ships also.
  2. Just change the flag and you should be good. Here's the approximate placement for the pennant number: RAN Pennant=0.0000,52.9390,3.9240 Shame about Melbourne. What can you do.
  3. Here's a shot of Vendetta. Hopefully, I didn't trash the thing.
  4. Hey Wrench, Two things. I thought Melbourne was still around? It was a creation for Gramps way back when, but I might still have a copy....... somewhere.......... which I could supply (assuming that Gramps wouldn't mind the texture use). As for the Australian Darings, I can supply you with one, as I made a test vessel with decal placement................ but never released it, 'cos interest in early stuff seems to be falling by the wayside. I should note also that the Australian ensign has a white field................. but that will come with the Australian Daring (assuming I can find it................ it's on the old computer, so I'll have to rummage).
  5. The nicest looking airplane ever

Spitfire Mk. 24, or possibly the Seafire Mk. 47. Gorgeous stuff. The Battle of Britain flight used to practice above my parents' house every summer. Gotta love those Merlins at reasonably low level. (Although the marques referenced above were of course powered by Griffons).
  6. In anticipation of a FAA version of the Buccaneer, I've been spending a little spare time improving my tired old lady. Hopefully I'll get around to animated blast doors, etc. If anyone has good plans for the flight deck vehicles/tractors, cranes, etc............... drop me a line.
  7. Ark

Thanks SB, But seriously, being realistic and reasonably dispassionate about what is a three-year old model.................. she needs to work to match the Bucc. Fortunately, I've acquired a lot of new information over the years.................... so an updated version will be a lot more presentable.
  8. Ark

Thanks! It's not dramatically wrong....................... just could be better. When good sources are few and far between, some assumptions have to be made when studying the plans to hand.
  9. Ark

Thanks Skippy! Much appreciated. I think I did a better job with Eagle's hull form, but transferring that hull into the old Ark model is too much of a major construction for my taste and time.
  10. Ark

Thanks a10boar, but that's the present Ark Royal (R07). I'm lamenting the lack of details for R09 (Ark Royal made famous by Rod Stewart and 'Sailor'). Funnily enough, R07 came up the Thames a few years ago and my father got some good shots, which I've archived............... somewhere. Well, anyway, I have a plan of USS Nimitz which includes flight deck vehicles, so I might just go with those.
  11. Ark

I have a whole of host of similar shots. That last one is the front cover of an Ark Royal 'biography' (HMS Ark Royal IV - Britain's Greatest Warship), which is a great read......................... but the b&w photos leave something to be desired........................... and the book contains no plans! (arrgh!).
  12. Ark

No, not so cool. The hull form is incorrect, the island curves are wrong, etc., etc. The British government is very secretive, still, about stuff built in the '60's. I've never yet seen a decent plan for Ark Royal after her 'Phantomization'. I've acquired a fair few plans of the Ark over the years, but most make little, construction sense when you actually try to make a model. This thing is a composite. Likewise for post-refit Eagle.
  13. Ark

    Thanks Killerbee.
  14. Ark

Thanks, but if anyone has halfway decent plans for the various flight deck vehicles................ that would be terrific. I have a couple, but they are very low res.......... so not very useful.
  15. HEAVY METAL FANS SHOUT OUT !

Used to enjoy an old Danish band...........Rued Langgaard How often I think they're just out walking They won't be much longer, they'll soon be returning The day is fine, Oh never fear They're only taking the long way back.... ......
  16. Nice shots of Constellation. Then again, I'm somewhat biased.
  17. Kid says "Homework is slavery"...

"Homework is slavery".................... tell that to slaves. But anyway, you won't get far in the last years of school if you don't do homework. The whole point is to study and work things out for yourself. Much like university life.
  18. If the Suez add-on doesn't include improved carrier operations and better prop action.................... well, it won't be much of an add-on. Carrier operations off the Egyptian coast were integral to the whole thing.
  19. SB, Not yet............................ but I believe things might be bubbling away.
  20. Ta! I'm even contemplating an Italian heavy cruiser (they might have been lightly armoured, but Italian ships were pleasant viewing). Just contemplating mind.
  21. Okay, for those thinking Med, I've uploaded updates for Cavour and Cesare. The ships have a little more detail and the main 12.59" battery works (i.e., turrets move, guns move........................ don't ask about accurate naval gunnery, as I think that's beyond TW games at the moment). If there's sufficient interest, I might find the time to get AA working (but setting up guns, knowing that naval gunnery is basic, is something of a chore).
  22. Conte di Cavour..... just prior to entering Taranto's Mare Grande, 8th November, 1940.
  23. Don't know if people are still pondering this scenario, but doing some virtual dockyard cleaning this afternoon, I bunged some railings on to the Cavour, just to give the old model a bit more detail. Hope to at least get the main battery working for a possible upload update.
  24. TSR2

That's Harold Wilson and Dennis Healy for you. The Labour government that came in after Macmillan took it upon themselves to emasculate much of the British defence industry (see demise of RN fixed wing carriers). Granted, 60's Britain was a pretty austere place (despite the Beetles, etc.), but to destroy the likes of the TSR2................. Then again, England did win the World Cup in '66, so the money went somewhere. And Concorde survived.
