Project Update: MV-22 Osprey
Zurawski replied to Zurawski's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 1 Series - Mods/Skinning Discussion
Hmm... Must admit I'm just a FM hack, so I can't comment intelligently about it... "Guessing" however, I doubt it. If we can't get prop-wash... I doubt a vortex ring will be possible. ...Though you FM gurus out there do some amazing stuff, of which I'm quite envious! -

Nope... 'MY" Ospreys will have a perfect 10/10 service and maintenance record... -
Project Update: MV-22 Osprey
Zurawski replied to Zurawski's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 1 Series - Mods/Skinning Discussion
I'm focusing on the MV-22 at the moment... the others are a quick mod with very minor differences.. So to to answer your question... "yes". -
Project Update: MV-22 Osprey
Zurawski replied to Zurawski's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 1 Series - Mods/Skinning Discussion
"One"... In a nutshell, I maybe get three hours a night four times a week to work on this stuff (wife is a task-master...). I wish I had the man hours to futz away on projects like some of these guys around here... But life comes first... then comes my make-believe world where I'm waited on by topless beauties and can quit literally live at my PC. -
Project Update: MV-22 Osprey
Zurawski replied to Zurawski's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 1 Series - Mods/Skinning Discussion
Actually there are potentially three variations: MV-22 = Marines CV-22 = Airforce and Special Ops HV-22 = Navy As of right now the Marines are in the lead with the procurement numbers... But I suspect the Airforce will catch up quickly. -
Project Update: MV-22 Osprey
Zurawski replied to Zurawski's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 1 Series - Mods/Skinning Discussion
Actually, after I'm done with the MV-22, I'm giving thought to converting it into the concept attack version with a nose-mounted chain-gun (Like the Cobra) and stub-wings to mount assorted munitions. There seems to be an audiance for concept / fantasy birds around here... why buck a good thing? -
Project Update: MV-22 Osprey

Thanks for the kudos guys... :blush2: Yeah, I do have the tendancy for the "odd and obscure"... And I do enjoy an FM-modeling challenge (note: I did do a test bed before choosing the model... unlike what I did with another odd vertical take-off bird that shall remain nameless) Right now it's a poly-heavy beast... but getting it down to it's "playing weight" should be no problem...not to mention I do low-poly lods for all my planes as well... I'll keep posting updates as they happen... -
F/A-37 Talon fuel problem

Hell... The ability to refuel anything by any means would be a welcome addition. -

Actually... Because I included a set of external hard-points (Nothing like making up your own rules...) you can add virtually any drop-tank used in the game. Ones would just need to decide which tank they wished to use and edit the hard-point in the aircraft.ini to allow the drop-tank. I'm at work right now... so the exact parameters escape me... but it can be done. BTW... Glad your enjoying the Talon! -
Finally got em!
Zurawski replied to gumpy's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 1 Series - General Discussion
Good on you mate! Glad you got it all sorted... sorry I could not have been more of a help. Hope you enjoy the Sabres... -
Iam going crazzy
Zurawski replied to gumpy's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 1 Series - General Discussion
I'm sorry your having this problem... though I don't quite understand why it's happening. The sabers in default after SP3 require the weapons pack (As they are defaulted in the package)... Try downloading the ones from my website see if that makes any difference... I just downloaded all of them and all show tanks and weapons loadouts. This about all I can offer as an solution. Well... it was only a matter of time before the media could pigeon-hole him as a "virtual-killer". Funny thing is the media never mentions that statistically speaking... the the sweet middle-age librarian on campus also has logged some hours in an on-line shooter... I remember the days when the social elite also thought running around and playing "Army" (or... cowboy'n Injuns.... or Cops'n Robbers for that matter)... lead to violent tendancies....

FINALLY!... Something with enough meat to give the Talon a run for its money... (Though the latest SU-27 does a pretty good job) -
FNG getting airborne...
Zurawski replied to LMJ's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 1 Series - General Discussion
Well... You could just about start anywere in the download section and start downloading... You can quite litteraly spend hours just downloading (Believe me... I've done it. Feel free to head on over to my website as well and grab the Sabres (and any of the other works that strike your fancy) Zur-TECH.com -
When I was like six years-old, me and the neighbor kid would play GI Joe... We use to smack them around with a ballpeen hammer to simulate battle damage... We called it the "Warhammer"... (Then I got into Battletech and discovered the Warhammer assault mech... and bought the minature)

Weird... Nothing on the loadout or ammo load "should" effect the default engine performance? Have to say ya got me stumped! -

Zurawski replied to rymnryan's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 1 Series - Mods/Skinning Discussion
Greetings Shin_kazama! No, not legal licensing reasons... artistic ones. In a nutshell, either I had very little physical data to build from or the game engine itself did not allow me to do something that the planes did in the movie. So I did what any good artist does... "improvise". The way I look at this plane is that this is "my" interpretation of the said aircraft. It's a close facsimile but not an exact replica... BTW... did catch your you-tube video... enjoyed it very much. Seeing the planes maneuvering put to music was pretty cool! -
Zur's Talon Final is Available
Zurawski replied to NeverEnough's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 1 Series - General Discussion
Oh she does Mach 4... I find around 25000 to 30000 ft a good height. The funny take-off is a result of the massive thrust developed and the effect of the canards. In order to get the top speed this thing is supposed to have the engine output is unreal... -
Zur's Talon Final is Available
Zurawski replied to NeverEnough's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 1 Series - General Discussion
If you exceed mach 4.0 (depending on altitude)... there is "still" a chance of getting a little "hot in the britches" if you know what I mean... "WHY" anyone would need to go faster than mach 4 is beyond me... LOL! The afterburner is 5 stage... just back off a bit and you'll be fine. -

Sorry about this... Seems in my tinkering I ended up referencing an afterburner emitter that is part of Deuces effects package (Sorry Duece... will get this changed). You can either change the afterburner emitter for all 32 engines in the Talon_data.ini... or Download and install Deuces effects pack. Deuces website is found HERE Again... sorry for the confusion. -
Flaming Talon
Zurawski replied to rymnryan's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 1 Series - Mods/Skinning Discussion
Actually... I'm in the painful throws of finalizing the definitive release candidate. Should be available "very soon"... and I will be doing an unprecedented first by releasing it both here at CA and at my website. -
Hmm... Ol' USAFMTLs been putting the screws to us for months... I'd say turnabout is fair play! I can see'm post surgery now... "Honey... please fluff my pillows"... "Honey... please rub my butt cheeks, they're sore"... "Can you lift that beer to my mouth, I'm parched"... Then when he's up and at'm... he'll be parading his scars around like some badge of honor. "Yup... got this here scar when I blew my back out lifting an ordinance loader off some newbie... didn't notice if had a couple 2000lbs'rs on it until I got it over my shoulders"...

Thanks for the kudos... sentiment is truly appreciated. Re: Inaccuracies... I've been telling folks from day one that -1 spec design plans for this project were not available. (I used screen captures from a cheesy avi on the movies website)... and because of that, I used a lot of "artistic licensing" to get the job done. Hell, I'd be the first to admit that there are more than a handful of inaccuracies/artistic licensing issues one could point out... without even looking hard. Fact is, this project "is what it is"... I wanted to take on a fun project, and in my book that's just what I produced. I know there are going to be a handful of purist who will knock points off it for the inaccuracies... as I see it, it's par for the coarse and fully expect them to come.
