  1. Just an idea: [HUDradar] Type=RADAR_SCOPE NodeName=Mira [moveMiraY] Type=AIRSPEED_INDICATOR NodeName=Mira MovementType=POSITION_Y Set[01].Position=-0.1 Set[01].Value=0.0 Set[02].Position=-0.1 Set[02].Value=1.0 [MoveMiraZ] Type=AIRSPEED_INDICATOR NodeName=MiraPadre01 MovementType=POSITION_Z Set[01].Position=0.16 Set[01].Value=0.0 Set[02].Position=0.16 Set[02].Value=1.0 Not an elegant solution, but it could be refined. Too bad we can't use a transparent .tga for a radar background!
  2. The MiG-21MF pit looks closer to the MiG-23 one and it has working SPO-10 RWR. If you can just remove the radar scope...
  3. just to clear up some misconceptions (click on the links): >> MiG-23S << - radar screen, ASP-PFD gunsight, SPO-10 RWR >> MiG-23MF (or M) << >> MiG-23MF << - no radar screen (radar data projected on HUD), ASP-23D HUD, SPO-10 RWR >> MiG-23ML << - no radar screen (radar data projected on HUD), ASP-23ML HUD, SPO-10 RWR >> MiG-23MLD << >> MiG-23MLD << - no radar screen (radar data projected on HUD), ASP-17ML HUD, SPO-15 RWR
  4. Dave, It seems you've uploaded the SF2 version twice, instead of the SFP1/WOV/WOE/WOI one
  5. Su-35BM crashed

  8. ordway, While I am not a pilot, I had some experience with various usually soviet built aircraft (mostly MiG-23BNs and UBs) working as a tech, for a short period of time before leaving the millitary for good and starting a more profitable career as a software developer. And I was pretty "shocked" to learn that all the stuff I have been taught for about 5 years is "myth, propaganda and urban legend" I promise to burn my diploma and start reading aviation magazines issued only in the USA! What I said was just my 2 cents - it is up to you to take it or not. It's just a game, anyway. It is s upposed to be fun - not to start flame wars. This would be my last post on this topic!
  9. I confirm that. There is only a fixed reticle (a round one, much like in Mago's MiG-21MF pit) used for A-G aiming. The only MiG-23's with CCIP are MiG-23B, BM and BN. No. The radar screen is projected ON the HUD glass. In fact, it isn't a real HUD, like on the most western aircraft - it doesn't display flight parameters like speed, heading, altitude etc., it displays only target/radar data. Only the MS has a separate radar screen on the instrument panel (much like MiG-21). @starfighter Nice work! Looks pretty close to the real one. Only one slight correction - the ">" and "<" symbols next to the left (target range) and right (target altitude) scales must be static. They are used as a reference for the neutral position of the horizon line. Take notice that the 2nd,5th and 6th image are from a late model 23 (ML,MLA,MLD) and the 3rd and 4th are from earlier (probably MF). There are some slight differences.

  11. Silverbolt!

    Happy Birthday!
  12. May I suggest this Tornado GR wingtip lights fix: [LeftPositionLight] SystemType=LIGHT AttachedNodeName=wing_left MovingLight=TRUE Color=0.98,0.5,0.5 Brightness=0.03 Position=-4.39,-4.63,-0.26 LightSrcOffset=0.0,0.0,0.0 LightSrcRange=0.5 CanFlash=FALSE [RightPositionLight] SystemType=LIGHT AttachedNodeName=wing_right MovingLight=TRUE Color=0.5,0.98,0.5 Brightness=0.03 Position=4.39,-4.63,-0.26 LightSrcOffset=0.0,0.0,0.0 LightSrcRange=0.5 CanFlash=FALSE
  13. Watch out, there is a TIE Fighter behind you! Great pic, btw!
  14. On the older ASP-17 gunsight (MiG-23BN, Su-17, Su-25 etc.) the setka was displayed along with the CCIP pipper. The laser rangefinder measures the distance to the point at the center of the setka and uses this data to make corrections to the pipper. Most likely the option to have both the setka and CCIP marker on at the same time was preserved on the newer HUDs. The setka itself is quite a good targeting instrument when you get used to it. The principle is almost the same as using a sniper scope (I assume you have used one). However I've never managed to get it at the right possition and size to be usable in the sim.
  15. It is a master arm indicator. On the original bird it indicates that bomb fuses are armed.
  16. These are not kill, but mission marks. Bombs for successful bombing missions and missile silhouettes for escort missions. Each white star on the nose means 10 combat sorties.
  17. The same here. My C: drive is reserved only for the OS and swap file. Iam not using the "My Documents" folder at all. Is it possible to put my "Mods" folder where the core game files are (i.e. E:/Games/SF2)? I don't like the idea to have the game split into multiple locations. I don't like the idea of using M$ Windows either, but that is a different story
