Bomb Jettison
TX3RN0BILL replied to TeargasHorse's topic in IL-2 Series / Pacific Fighters / Cliffs of Dover: General Discussion
I believe you may be SOL there because jettisoning bombs is done like normal bombing, but not caring where they hit. If you've got unlimited ammo then I guess there's nothing you can do. I must say I adapted well to fly online with limited ammunition and truth be said, you don't live too long or can always come back and land for a successful sorty completion and get back into the fight with renewed supplies so flying with limited ammounts isn't that bad - and one gets better at attacking targets or selects aircraft closer to one's fighting style if bombing isn't your thing.- I've learned to appreciate tank-busters like the Hs-129 this way, with their smooth-flying contra-rotating engine setup... a real beauty with a heavy cannon for hitting hard! -

Lemme guess, Lexx, there's no need for microwave ovens there, the food cooks by itself? In any case, the picture is quite amazing... Strange how something so devastating can look so beautiful, it looks almost organic...

I like the fact that it's an Audi and what looks to be an Airbus that are painted and not an Ilyushin and a Zil...

Someone should rain on his tirade and make him wake up and smell some western news (tv/newspapers) so that he can see how much the people of central european countries are fond of floods and such that have plagued the area in recent years... Edit: On second thought better not because he'd say that the governments are evil to their own people (and he isn't ofc)

1946 Newbie questions
TX3RN0BILL posted a topic in IL-2 Series / Pacific Fighters / Cliffs of Dover: General Discussion
Well, I've finally decided I wanted to go back to that era of growling engines so after looking what was available I'm thinking that the IL-2 1946 compilation is the way to go, but I'm wondering about how it works... I know it includes all games in the series, but I'm wondering, can there be a mix-up with all planes available, or is each game handled separately from the other? I'm also particularly interested in the online multiplayer aspect of the game, I hope that there are still many players out there? I also haven't found a comprehensive wiki page for it where all things present in the game are listed (everything from planes to tanks, ships, etc), is the mission builder as advanced as the Jane's series mission builders were, where one could position everything everywhere? Another question for which I haven't found an answer is if one can have a customized nose-art or something that will also be visible for other players without them having to download an aircraft skin? I do apologize if I haven't been able to find obvious answer to these questions, I've been digging but not yet finding... Many thanks in advance for your clarifying answers! -

Good to know, though I don't have a disc - I got the game from Good Old Games (GOG.com). Got it off a promo even... so no DRM hassle for me! -

New IL2 game
TX3RN0BILL replied to xclusiv8's topic in IL-2 Series / Pacific Fighters / Cliffs of Dover: General Discussion
What do you mean? I'm having a blast with IL-2 1946 - and its development hasn't stopped yet either... for all the rest there's mods... -
That's not the worst story I've heard... recently in my country someone died and nobody did anything about it for the next 8 years, although a cousin went to the police asking for a missing person search. The reason her body was found was because she incurred in tax debt and because that wasn't settled her house was auctioned off without the owner's consent. When the new homeowners went in with the police, which had to force their entry for a lack of key or response of the owner, they found the decayed body of the old woman... I bet that must have been quite a shock to the new home-owners!

IL-2 46 best must haves

Throttle issue solved and more... oh my... have it all patched and been flying these last 3 days, my WW2 online flight simming debut, and I'm learning something new every day... the cutest thing I had to do was to hand-crank my landing gear up in an F4F - at first I was in despair because the normal raise gear key didn't work but thankfully the people from Ukdedicated1 server are patient and helpful towards noobs... yeah yeah I know I didn't rtfm and my last experience from WW2 flight simming dated back to Aces over Europe, so there's some new stuff getting used to... I kinda like vanilla for now and since there are still people flying online I think I'll be happy with that for now until I feel like something more challenging... Must say I've become a fan of the multi-prop and single-jet planes... but I have to remind myself to keep flying axis cause I'm used to red being the enemy lol... Where do you folks fly online? Anybody else flying vanilla patched up like me? -
Herzlichen Glueckswunsch zum Geburtstag, Muesli!

Would underground housing (nuclear-bunker-style like the one seen in the movie "Red") be able to withstand such forces? Probably... And proof that such buildings can be stylish can be found in the series "A town called Eureka"...

I work in the media business. And sure as ice is cold when the wedding was on everybody but me gathered in the room with the TV... Ah, but I had a quiet time then! Could go take a look at CA Forums without any hassle...

Oh, the woes that befall those that claim to create unsinkable ships... every one of them was proven wrong!

I've managed to find a small 4.10.1m patch, gonna apply it, see if it works, though I didn't find the version reference during the loading screen as you indicated... oh well... As for the engine management, I've had it disabled, enabled it to see if there was any difference, but in the HOTAS axis assignment menu you can only assign it to the settings of one engine... as throttle increase and decrease by throttle control of HOTAS doesn't seem to be possible for all, I think... And my current HOTAS doesn't have key emulation so I can't work around it that way... maybe the new patch will help, but in any case the new HOTAS will...
